Food 8/10Ambiance 7/10 Service 10/10 and the only reason this gets a perfect score was due to our server Megan. She was excellent, attentive and made me one of the most delicious cocktails I've ever had! We will be back and we will be asking for Megan again

Love the wine, service and atmosphere. Just a little advice from a regular that returned after it closed for a bit. It seems the menu is still being worked out. Love the flatbread and cheese / pesto appetizer. Ordered the short rib entree. That was delicious, BUT please don't serve it with packaged chips. Takes away from dish and nice wine bar setting. A small side salad or homemade sweet potato fries would add so much to the dish. Just a little advice . I want you guys around a long time.

We love going to Newhall Press Room for a glass of wine and a charcuterie board prior to walking to the local movie theater. All of the employees are super friendly and welcoming. They remodeled recently and it's super cute with cozy seating inside and outside. Really good food and wine! Highly recommend!

My first experience at Newhall Press Room was for a Galentine's Day dinner. The ambiance, service and food were amazing. We ordered a few appetizers to share along with our wine choices. The hummus was so good. For my dinner selection, I ordered the "Kiss of Combasti" flatbread with chorizo, goat cheese, jalapeños, honey and onion along with their tomato basil soup. Both choice's were delicious. Our server was so nice and welcoming. I am looking forward to going back to try more of their dishes. It's a great spot to meet-up for an evening of wine and great cuisine.

Everything about Newhall Press Room was just about up to my expectations for it, based on its location, philosophy (per web sites descriptions), and reviews from other trusted Yelpers. So, all in all, this was a good experience for a Sunday brunch on a popular holiday. The menu was good enough for a vegetarian. The fact that you can get breakfast/lunch/dinner at any time on Sundays was a nice extra. The California Benedict appealed to me and I was able to have the bacon kept out. Our server, Jennifer, was very friendly, efficient, and professional. We got a perfect table for me, right next to the large windows (clean) on Main Street and below the large screen tv. We lucked out and got a parking space right in front -- yay, that's rare. The food was good, the portions were modest but enough so we could take some home. Jennifer and the kitchen gifted us with two small delicious sugared cinnamon muffins -- wasn't that nice?Main Street is festive now on weekends with all the shops and gastropubs that have opened and are seemingly thriving through all the challenges they face these days and the fact that Old Town Newhall is a bit off the beaten path. That lends itself to feeling like we had an outing even though it was a relatively casual midday meal. The beer menu is good and I was able to get Dark Star Oatmeal stout, as I do like an occasional 4oz of beer (it came in a frosty 16 oz glass), and it always has to be the darkest beer available. I don't like any other kind and am not a drinker. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other gastropubs in LA county, so, bottom line, this is a good place to try. Now, one thing I have to point out is the unexpected missing character, for lack of a better term, that the interior has and thus the rather bland atmosphere inside. This, despite a great tin ceiling (see pictures), the walls of bottles, and the black wood tables and chairs, all upscale touches. Somehow the walls look empty even with a couple of unremarkable art pieces. For example, NPR has apparently won some prestigious and valued awards, but they are placed on a relatively inconspicuous wall, lost on the stretch of whiteness of that spot and thus almost forgotten or trivialized. I meant to take a closeup of them and forgot -- proving my point. The entire indoor space needs something extra to add a bit of excitement. Also, my Benedict eggs were almost cold when they came. This is probably because after they were cooked, cold avocado and tomato were place on them and chilled them down. However, that was almost made up for by being on biscuits -- love that idea -- even though these were a bit dry and not likely made same day. There is a good size patio for outdoor dining and a good wine and spirits menu. They definitely honored St. Patrick's Day. I wish I could be more superlative; it wouldn't take much to notch it up to great. I want to try it again soon.

Located on main street, which is bustling with activity. Parking can be a bit competitive, but we were lucky to find a spot across the restuarant. We visited the place for a special event. They offer online reservations which is convenient. It is quite casual with outdoor seating and inside seating; featuring a bar and tables. I would advise that it's best to not have a party that exceeds 6. The seating gets pretty cramped. I'm sure they could rearrange, but that party size (or larger) will warrant an automatic 20% gratuity fee.Ultimately, this place seems suitable for a sommelier or those who want to have a nice chat over drink and tapas (appetizer like meals). Beyond a long list of wine options, there are some mixed drinks, beers, and non alcoholic beverages one can choose from. The menu can be a tad overwhelming. We did express it was our first visit, so I think it would have been beneficial to get a quick overview by the waiter. There was a miscommunication with waiting for happy hour (9pm the day we went) to get drinks, but then being informed the entree courses become unavailable at that time as well. This detail isn't noted on the menu. Unfortunate, since our party was looking forward to trying out the scampi and steak frites. But partially our fault for not inquiring on that detail. Nevertheless, the night persisted. Our server was attentive in inquiring if we'd like more refills and providing a water cannister for us to use to refill our cups. We opted to have the open range melt, npr burger, charcuterie board options, and the spinach and artichoke dip. We all agreed that the charcuterie board was tasty to share and eat with one another, specifically the stagecoach, and the artichoke dip was flavorful. The handheld options, as noted on the menu, were dry and on the bland side. At the end of the night, our waiter was considerate enough to bring a complimentary cake for us to celebrate the special occasion. That was a nice surprise, initially! if you look at the menu, a special event is also automatically charged 20% gratuity. Seems it would have been more optimal to have chosen a desert on the menu, which were no more than $13. But eh.Overall, we did enjoy the wine options and agreed to visit in the future to share a charcuterie board and have different wine selections. The main plates definitely seemed to range on the high end. But who knows, perhaps they are large portion sizes? I would recommend giving the place a try, but to do your due diligence on this contract of a menu.

I can't believe it took me so long to try Newhall Press Room! This place is such a treasure and it was the perfect setting to celebrate my friends birthday. We made a reservation for Saturday at 11:30 and we lucked out by having Jennifer as our waitress. She really added to the already amazing experience we had. We ordered a bottle of their Sparkling Rose which was delightful and 3 additional bottles of it went home with us afterwards. The Fall Burrata Toast, Wedge Salad, Truffle Mac and Steak Frites were also enjoyed immensely with the truffle Mac and salad being the winners. We finished up with some Affogato and Cinnamon Rolls and I truly can't wait to come back again. They have some amazing wines; along with some natural and vegan ones. The kicker was that they take $20 off any bottle to go! They have other daily specials that are worth checking out and I look forward to my next visit.

Food, wine, and service were all on point! Ammunition Pinot was flavorful and light--perfect to share a bottle. Grilled cheese and tomato soup were yummy! The Brussels sprouts had raisins which made it a little too sweet for me. The sea salt caramel was amazing. It wasn't too crowded which was nice (I could carry a conversation with my party), but could see if the room was full it would be really difficult to hear anyone.

Bought the 3 bottles of wine package for 45.00. 30.00 of that is being to the Red Cross California fire fund. What a wonderful way to enjoy great wine and help our family and friends who have such a hard time coming up. It's nice to see a small business. Think about their neighbors. That's Old Town Newhall for you!

Terrific service. Great people. Very nice atmosphere in a quaint area that is quite a delightful surprise (when coming from Los Angeles). The food is terrific - particularly the flat bread pizzas. Great for a date night or a quick escape from Los Angeles. Really nice night out.
