Nanak Sweets & Spices

This place is like stepping into another world- in the best way. We were greeted with friendliness and offered a cup of warm, spiced tea that was absolutely delicious. The interior was thick with the smells of fresh naan and curries. Inside is a grocery store, bakery section and fresh food bar. The food served up is vegetarian, which I really enjoyed. We chose a dish that had Indian cheese (paneer) and some peas in a mouthwatering curry sauce, along with some freshly baked garlic naan. Some fresh samosas were added to our bag as a treat & they were just as scrumptious as the rest of our order. I'm so glad my husband noticed this place and brought me here. The authenticity couldn't be more on point. This meal was a blessing. It warmed our souls for the remainder of the day. This place is truly a gem & I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.

Employees are very nice and will be patient trying to understand you if you do not understand Punjabi etc, they are very nice! The food is so delicious, my favorite is the Chana masala, the sweets are all very delicious. I have purchased groceries here before and it is priced accordingly the store is pretty small but they have everything you would ever need to create an authentic indian meal

Horrible place to eat at, this was my second time ordering garlic naans and they tasted like complete shit, they were hard like rock and were also burnt. If you're going to charge $1.99 for the naans at least make them worth the money, for what they sell, they should only charge .50 or .75 the most. I'm a foodie and this place sells the worst food.If I could rate it a 0, I would. I highly don't recommend this place to anyone. And not to mention they sell old/expired food. I am highly disappointed.

Very sad to see this place with 2 stars. Passed by on our way to Sequoia National Park, truly by accident. My daughter had to go to the bathroom and we just took whatever exit we were at and drove to the nearest place. This just happened to be where we stopped and being brown, wanted to give this place a try. They have groceries at reasonable prices, (and I've been to Artesia and San Diego and NJ and NY places as well so don't get on me!) but this is not what to buy here. The hot food and sweets are where it's at. We had naan, chana puri, rice, papri chaat and matter paneer. Everything was delicious although very very spicy. It was so much better than eating more burgers or Costco pizza. I'm sure this place gets people since it's obviously open. Please give this place a chance Bakersfield. And don't give one star for something like customer service. Really! That's now how to be a Yelper.

My coworker had a baby and brought this sweet. I don't know what it is called but they sure are tasty.

I come here to order roti, definitely recommend. I call ahead of time to just come and pay and take to go. Store is pretty neat, has a lot of goodies

Another excellent place for indian groceries and food. The chole kuche dish tasted good. bought some sweets including ladoos which were below average. Do not buy samosas from this location as they are stale and have no taste.

Great place and good food. Owner is awesome. Must visit. The sweets are very good. Must try Amritsari Kulcha.
