I stopped my Murray family farms on my long drive back from SoCal and on the we decided to stop by since when noticed it heading to SoCal. The first thing I noticed is they have multiple beautiful goats on the property. I thought it was a petting zoo lol. We walk in the business and they have so many products, from fresh baked pies, dehydrated candies, olives and other pickled items such as quail eggs and dehydrated fruits and vegetables, meat etc. We were immediately greeted by the staff and asked if we need help or wanted to know the difference items they carry. She was so very helpful. We ended up getting olives, different dehydrated fruits we got the savory pies I got the blueberry bbq pulled pork and my friend got the chicken pot pie. My friend said, her pot pie was delicious and I enjoyed my blueberry bbq pulled pork it was so flavorful the pork is so tender and I never thought blueberries work go so well with it. If you are road tripping or ever in the area it is well worth the stop I promise. You can bring your pets the just cannot go inside the store.

The pumpkin patch is very nice and lots to see. The kids love it!! With your admission to the pumpkin patch we each got a free pumpkin. We enjoyed their corn pit. My kid loved it. Instead of a ball pit it's dry corn kernels! It was really fun walking in the corn! We skipped the corn maze. I personally didn't feel like getting lost and we were all tired walking. There's so much to see. We enjoyed the potato sack slide too. The items in the country store are a bit on the higher price side just so you know bc your kids will ask for stuff. Every thing in the store is very nice & good quality.

I was driving through the area during sunset and a sign for Murray Family Farms caught my eye and I'm glad it did. The employees are very nice and friendly. They allowed me to bring my little dog into the shop to browse which is awesome. They have lots of pies and snacks and goodies and gifts that you can buy. I got some snacks and drinks and a Blueberry BBQ Pulled Pork Savory Okie Pie. I was able to sit in front in the patio are and enjoy the sunset and my pie. It was really good, warm and tasty. Murray Family Farms is definitely worth a visit.

Okie pies are fried up comfort food. Today we tried the blueberry pulled pork and chicken pot pie. The pulled pork was the winner for me and the chicken pot pie was my husbands favorite. So many good snacks here, too! Tried a slice of peach pie, butterscotch fudge, a walnut brownie and some okra chips. The service is friendly and attentive and the vibe is like a gas station stop that has so much extra. Tried a cardamom tea drink from the fountain that is absolutely refreshing and delicious. This place is a fun stop. Highly recommend.

I went here and I absolutely loved it, as an adult there was so much walking, and I saw so many kids. This is definitely kid friendly, there's so much for them to do. I had a smile on my face the whole time, the workers love their job and make everyone have a good time. Everyone is just happy to be there, they even have a food court where they have pies, candy, chicken pot pie.

Hands-down, the best fruit pie we've ever had. The crust in particular is outstanding. We tried the Fruits of the Forest selection this time with blackberries, strawberries, rhubarb and raspberries. We live in CUCAMONGA, but may drive back just to get the pie.

The place had a charming exterior and a beautifully decorated small farmer's market vibe. We arrived at 12:05 PM, only to find it closed due to Thanksgiving, with many others outside wondering why they weren't open past 12. It's disappointing that they didn't update their hours on their website or Yelp, as they likely lost many customers because of this. The inside looked clean through the windows, but since the doors were closed, we couldn't get a full impression. I'm deducting one star for not keeping their hours updated.

I haven't felt such joy and excitement in months as I did stopping by here! I was originally looking for fruit picking options on a road trip past this area, which lead me to The Big Red Barn. Although fruit picking is only for events, I am SO glad I still stopped by their little market and kitchen! I got blackberry butter, strawberry rhubarb preserves, jarred peaches halves, dill pickles, a turtle stuffed animal, a chocolate chip cookie, a beautiful piece of wall art, and a big old carton of strawberries! I tried all the food items since and they are PHENOMENAL. The stuffed animal is not only great quality and extremely cute, but it was also inexpensive and it's all recycled material! Multiple staff members helped out with different things during my visit and were sweet and helpful. Even the fellow customers were sweethearts! I will 1000% be looking into their future events to experience more of the farm, even just for the chance to stop by The Big Red Barn again. Also! I saw the sweetest lil barn kitty wandering, multiple goats, and chickens as their enclosures are right next to the parking lot. I left in such a giddy mood. Sorry for the long review, but it was just phenomenal and I highly reccomend stopping by here if you have the chance!!! I added a photo of some of the stuff I bought!

Murray Family Farms: Worth the Pit Stop (and the Double Portions)On my trips to Las Vegas and back, the signs for Murray Family Farms have always caught my attention. Finally, after many years of driving past the exit, I stopped and spent twenty minutes looking around the farm store. The store is spacious and well organized. It offers fresh produce and more. Many of the products there are from local farms or businesses. I had little time to spend there, but the oranges (grown across the street according to the friendly staff) and the freshly baked pies (especially the cherry pies) immediately caught my attention. When I returned to San Francisco, I tried both within the following couple of days. Folks, they were flavorful and delicious. The only problem was that they were apparently very good because they all disappeared before I could try more! The pie went first, and the oranges were gone a couple of days later! Now I know better! Next time, double portions are a must! I'll need to stock up before these delicious treats vanish again!

This review is based on the store and restaurant. They also offer crop picking and other activities for the kids on their grounds, which I did not take advantage of. I thought the store and the restaurant were actually somewhat underwhelming given that this place is promoted as one of Bakersfield's top attractions. It's not really a restaurant, just a counter where you can buy some prepared foods and then enjoy eating it at the nearby tables. It was the noon hour on a Sunday, so I would have expected better. They had very few items to offer and many of them were sold out. I ordered a "chicken pot pie", which was something like an empenada that had a chicken pot pie stuffing inside. The inside was mainly gravy and potatoes. This cost me $7.99, which would have been reasonable, but it really wasn't really very good. The store has some interesting grocery products, which are pricey and typical of a roadside stop such as this. My feeling is this makes for a nice roadside stop to look around and get something to eat if you're passing this way. I don't think it's really worth driving the 20 miles or so out of Bakersfield just to see this place.
