Another fabulous stay with Dee Graham. I have stayed at other B&Bs that Dee managed and reviewed them here. This was a spur of the moment get away and I said to my wife let's call and see if Dee has room. The Cabin was available to we invited our younger son and his wife and kid to join us. Everything was perfect; road conditions were we good, tourists weren't a hassle and fortunately Western Divide Highway was OPENED for our return trip home...this time through Kernville. Everything about Mountain Top B&B was great. This winter brought lots and lots of snow, Dee's car was still buried and sustained body damage as a result. The Cabin easily accommodated our four adults plus a toddler. The Ponderosa Lodge (next door) offered up cocktails and grub and a fun crowd of mountain madness lovers. I promised Dee we would return very soon...and we will.

5 Stars is not enough! When we arrived, Dee was there to welcome us like we were family visiting! Plenty of space for us and our two dogs. The accommodations are so lovely. It's sort of like a step back in time with the exterior and interior decor and a VCR/DVD combo TV with a collection of VHS videos, which we watched...loved it! It's so nice and peaceful with plenty of places to walk the doggies. We visited the Trail of 100 Giants on the Sequoia Forest side where many of the majestic giant Sequoias are standing. The 2021 fires caused so much devastation but spared many of the Giants. The Stagg Tree is a giant wonder everyone should visit. The Sequoia National Park side is a couple hour drive with more places to visit, but does not allow dogs on trails, bummer. The drive up and down the mountain top to our cabin was "scary but fun". Only tiny issue was cell service, it was "hit-or-miss" which was not bad because there's wi-fi and always messenger to call or text and Dee has a landline just in case. It's like being "off the grid" which was a fun experience. Dee and Tim are the perfect hosts. The Ponderosa Lodge which is just a 3-minute walk has great food, great people that love to tell stories about the Mountain. Since we've been back home, we've been bragging about our stay all the time!Definitely would visit again and would recommend it!

My boyfriend took me here and we got lost on our way arriving at 10pm and I was a wreck scared we would not have a place to stay when we got there. Dee was there in bed and woke to let us in. She was so understanding, pouring me a glass of wine in her pj's. I was embarreassed we woke her and with no cell service was thinking she would be annoyed if we even ever got there. But she was not. She stayed up with us and talked a bit. As I calmed myself I started to notice the absolutly charming atmosphere! So comforting, inviting, clean and with a dog that thinks its a teddy bear. We slept well that night in a glorious bed, cozy beyond belief. And when we woke she had prepared an amazing feast for us. Fresh coffee, muffins, eggs, bacon and that was not all. But you get the idea, YUM! Also I left my earings there on accident and she called and sent them to me! She is so awesome. The cabins are super cool and the rooms delightful. We will be back!

Dee and Curtis are amazing. Great food, service, and overall place. My fiance and I went on a weekend- just a Saturday night to Sunday morning, it was a last minute plan- and they were able to accommodate us. I love their establishment! So cozy, great energy, and peaceful atmosphere. Their pets are adorable and friendly. Felt like I was visiting a friend or relative for the weekend. My fiance and I had hiked for 4 hours and we're super tired. It was nice to arrive at a place that fostered positive feelings of relaxation and hominess. Their place so clean and decorated so well. I highly recommend this place. These people are so polite, friendly, considerate, and helpful. They are also very knowledgeable about the area. We will be visiting them again in the winter. :-D 10 stars!!!

I can't believe I forgot to write a review for this bed and breakfast! I guess it's better late than never. I'm just glad I kept their contact info in my phone because I completely forgot the name of this place. I certainly will stay with them when we visit the Ponderosa/Springfield area again. We stayed here a few years ago to attend my friend's wedding at Camp Nelson. The B&B was a short drive away from Camp Nelson, as well as the awesome hiking spots around the Ponderosa area (Sequoia National Forest, Nobe Falls, Dome Rock, Stagg Tree). It's so relaxing to be near these giant trees and this was a much needed vacation away from San Francisco. The owners were extremely nice. They were on the look out for us at a store nearby because we got to the B&B after sundown and they street is not well lit. They wanted to make sure we found the place easily. They B&B was very clean and we loved that we could relax in the hot tub after a long day. My favorite part was the super yummy breakfast that they made for us. The breakfast layout when we walked into the dining room looked like it was straight out of a gourmet or Martha Stewart magazine. I wish I took pictures because it looked so professional. The food smelled so good that we just gobbled it up. This B&B deserves all five stars!

One of the best stays we have ever had. John and Alvie are the nicest people and the most gracious hosts ever. The breakfasts alvie cooks are truly gourmet! The room was nice and totally reasonable in price. There is plenty to do for a couple days around the area. If we stayed another night we probably would have gone over to the Kern river and looked into some rafting.Really though, we cannot recommend this place enough!

They had ran out of fries and the burger was small. They didn't have a lot of key things like sides or ketchup.

We spent 5 nights at the Mountain Top B & B, so we got to know Dee and Curtis very well. If you want a beautiful place to relax and just get a way from the busy city life, then this place is for you. Dee is so warm, kind, and gracious. Dee and her gentle dog Blue will help to welcome you as you come for your stay. Dee made sure that we were well fed with her wonderful breakfasts consisting of delicious rosemary eggs, bacon, blueberry waffles, along with fresh fruit. If you are at a loss of what to do, Dee will let you know where the best waterfalls are and other places to see like the Stagg Tree and Dome Rock. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would rate them with 10 stars.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay while exploring the area, Mtn Top B&B is a great choice. The folks that run this B&B are great hosts and provide an awesome breakfast. We stayed in the attached unit with a separate kitchen and living area, which was comfortable and easy. Nice porch area to hang out and enjoy a drink after a day exploring the area.Tons of back country roads to explore and some great views. Had a fun time doing a backcountry horse riding experience with the Golden Trout Wilderness pack station. Also took the kids to the granite water slides. Local store has supplies and a restaurant with a band playing on the weekends. Also was able to go see the giant trees down the road. Close enough to do a white water rafting adventure in the spring. And the fly fishing is great if you do your homework and search out those meadows or have the pack station ride you in to a good spot for the day. The best part, none of the crowds you get at the other major tourists spots in the national parks.
