Always good service Comfortable set up.Food hot and fresh. Food comes out steaming, The fried chicken crispy not to much salt , usually places that serve fried chicken is too salty , this place was not an issue . Waffles pair with fried chicken is delicious. Mashed potatoes and gravy creamy. Looking for soul comfort food then this is the place for you.

Food is good. I had my first hot link here. Dee-li-cious!! Also, apparently I am allergic to hot links a bit. What's a little rash for something so tasty! Service is great! Very friendly, prompt. The only thing I had here that I did not like was the cobbler. It is much too mushy, and heavily spiced.

If you're in the Bakersfield area and want a taste of southern cooking stop here. This place has a good selection of soul food... from fried chicken to catfish and all the fixings in between. Love there's an option for collard greens, cabbage, sweet potatoes. My little soul was in heaven. Good portions that fill you up . Tastes so good makes you want to slap your mama ( dont recommend doing that though lol). Nice squares of cornbread; tops off your meal.In the mood for some old school kool aide?? Then this is your spot .. grape or fruit punch. Brings back them back in the days memories. The meals and vibes brings back times when you get to have a good Sunday meal with your family. Reminds me of home. Wish the Dining room was bigger; to squeeze in more patrons. Service was good; staff friendly.

Walked in and was greeted right away and sat down. Server was very friendly and attentive. Interior was a little boring but kept very clean!! Lots of items to choose from. I ordered the surf n clucks- comes with w 2 pieces of fried chicken, fried catfish, fried jumbo shrimp, 2 sides and corn bread for $25 well worth it and I wasn't able to come close to finishing! Food was well cooked and seasoned. Only complaint would be the sides were a little cold and no butter or honey for corn bread. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles and she liked them we also ordered a side of okra and that was delicious but a little pricey at $9 for a small bowl. Overall a good experience!

OMG!! This is a must stop!!! I live in Fresno and I came here for work and said I need to try this place!!! Waffles bomb, chicken crispy and flavorful!! Greens were on point! This is a Kern County treasure!! You have to try it!! Customer service was amazing as well!!!!

We ordered takeout and the service was fast, it only took 20 minutes. The fried chicken was phenomenal, very juicy and flavorful. With fried chicken, i was able to choose two sides, I ordered the mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were good, mac n cheese wasn't my favorite. The cornbread was amazing though. We ordered 2 meals, a side dinner salad and a peach cobbler. The peach cobbler was ok, if you like a lot of nutmeg you will love it. The total was $47, We will definitely be going back to try the rest of their menu.

WOW!!! The BEST fried chicken in town! Ordered fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and cornbread-Oh my it was all just wonderful! Can't wait to have it again!!!

If you want soul food on Bakersfield - go to Mom's House! Store is clean and service is fairly good. The food is definitely the star of the show!Fried chicken flavor on point, smothered pork chop, braised oxtail, catfish - loved it all! Sides - greens, dirty rice, simple white rice with gravy were all tasty The value is really great. Lots of families were there on this Saturday afternoon. You must try this restaurant!
