Purchased game cases from them online. The listing said they house SNES, NES, N64, AND Sega Genesis. When I got them and put a Sega game in one (the only system I wanted the boxes for), the cartridge bounced around, fell out of the "intended" bracket, and flopped hazardly around the case. I contacted the buyer nicely asking if I maybe was putting them in wrong, as the cases did not seem to be made for Sega Genesis games. Here's where it starts. Owner curtly answered something along the lines of "You don't know what you're doing. Look online to see how it's done." I thought "ok.. maybe it's a big store and he doesn't have time". So I looked online and saw several youtube reviews saying that they're great BUT weren't designed to hold Sega Genesis. So I messaged ModernVideo saying if he can please take a second and give me some advice on how to store the game. Again, the owner bit back saying something along the lines of "You don't know what you're doing, not one customer has ever complained to me, these cases store everything perfectly." So I told ModernVideo that I fiddled around this this for over a hour, and unless I'm dense, these were not made for Sega Genesis, they're about as safe as storing my games in a shoebox. Then the owner of ModernVideo went off saying things like "We're the best Universal Game case, if you don't like mine you won't have any cases, you obviously don't know what you're talking about.... *insult insult insult*.... I hope you're game collection is looking plush in our cases".I was shocked. I contacted Ebay by phone and they opened an "item not as described" case, soon the owner of Modernvideo ON EBAY OFFICIAL RECORD started calling me a liar, again praising his cases like they were the holy answer for life itself (because he didn't want to pay return shipping which Ebay makes sellers do if there's a 'not as described' case.). I again, calmly told him that my Sega Games flop around the bracket, before falling out the "intended" position and flopping around the box, they were not made for Sega Genesis games. So the owner commands me to change the case from "not as described" to a normal refund, I tell him I did not open this case, Ebay did this for me. So he concedes and gives me a return sticker. It does not end there. I know, it's redunkulous. I ship the package back asap, and it arrives at his store on the 21st and the store must have been closed because the post left a pick-up notice. Well, it finally gets to the 28th and he still hasn't picked the package up, and I can't get a refund until he does. So he's either waiting for the package to be sent back to me so he can lie and say he never got it, or he's making me wait as long as possible for my refund. Well, I contacted Ebay again, they took one glance on the case and his actions and forced a refund back to me, apologizing for my experience. BUYER BEWARE. The owner of ModernVideo WILL DO EVERYTHING TO RIP YOU OFF. Asking questions nicely is fruitless with this person and when you finally can't take it and complain for being ripped off, he will tell you that you don't know what you're talking about, insult you on every occasion, and call his own items "plush". If you're planning on buying his Universal Game Cases, BUY BEWARE that they are NOT made of Sega Genesis games (to be honest, they store all retro games poorly. Sega the worst of all). After producing the boxes the seller decided: "Oh it's missing Sega, well it technically fits in the same slot as SNES games, so might as well add that it houses Sega Genesis games as well". Even if you're not buying this specifically, I'd take this as a word of warning for doing any business with this person. Shady shady shady seller. I have never had such an unpleasant buying experience in my life before.

Being the 'only game in town' not only emphasizes the stores strengths, but also it's weaknesses. As strengths it boasts very friendly service with decent knowledge of the stores stock and other information. They also have a habit of getting movies before the official release dates, which I guess is pretty impressive. The price of new rentals is average and the 4-for-the-price-of-3 deal is great if you are throwing a movie party or want to watch a lot of films over the two day rental period. Weaknesses however are present also. First off, 'New' releases can sit on the shelf without out moving to the 'Old' racks for YEARS. Often times you will see Originals sitting next to Sequels that came out two years later. The price of 'old' rentals is high compared to 'new', and the sale price of used DVD's, a common feature in video stores now, is ridiculous. One can find new films cheaper in department stores. Previously viewed DVDs in the local hardware, dollar, and gas station are priced at little more that half what Modern is asking. They do combine the prices if you buy more, but not enough to make the difference.Overall it's a clean, decently run store with good, friendly service, and most new DVD's are available at a competitive rental price. I am giving an extra star because I've always been treated with the courtesy and respect extended to other costumers.

There aren't many video stores left in the world. This one may be one of the few, but is the best. The employees are always nice and helpful. They have lots of new releases, and some good classics too.
