McMurtrey Aquatic Center

I love this place. I travel to bako for work and have met people here that are so friendly. I live that the lanes go the width of the pool rather than length. And the fun music just makes it so much fun!!

Took the family here on a Friday and we had a great time! Lots of folks, but it didn't feel crowded. The young employees there were very responsible and fun-loving to all the guests. It was very reasonably priced at $13 for 2 adults and 2 kids. We arrived at 1:00p, stayed until 4:00p closing. My kids went down each slide 3 times a piece, and each time waited approx 15 min in line to go down. There are several wading pools, a deeper pool for swimming, and a spray zone for the little ones. Several lifeguards, and the facility accepts credit/debit cards, including the snack bar! Everyone in Bako should at least go once each summer. Great job McMurtrey!

My husband and I took the kids here on a hot summer day. It was our first time and it was a very reasonable price to get in. I love how they have a water-slide because my kids were on that thing the whole day. They have a small area with tables and chairs where you can put your belongings (bags, towels, etc.) I just wish they had the area bigger and brought out more tables and chairs. There were people who were standing waiting for others to leave so they can use that table. Overall, my kids had so much fun. We'll be coming back this summer!

Great place to bring the family! Kid friendly, lifeguards always close by but not too annoying, clean, nice staff and fun! Our kids had so much fun and as a mom, I found this place to be really convenient as I went alone w/ my 3 kids (ages 3, 6 & 8). I was worried that I'd have a problem looking after all 3 in such a crowded environment but I didn't. If you're looking for summer fun, this would be a wonderful place! Inexpensive too! **ONLY issue we had was that they're only open 2-3 hours out of the day. It would be nice if they were open from 12-4pm**

So glad this community swimming pool exists in Bake. :) Great place to come for lap swimming during any day of the week. Prices are reasonable; they recently went up to $4 per lap swim. Facilities and locker rooms seem clean thus far, and people are generally friendly.Life guards are always on staff when the pool is open, so you can rest assured there are safety precautions in place. There are some annual kid-friendly / family-friendly events held at this pool as well, but have yet to attend any of those!

The pool was a bit salty but it was really good for 4$ it's open 1-4pm and I ordered a pizza slice for 3$ and an icee for 2.50$ the large soda was also 2.50$. For a whole pizza it was 14$. Really fun for a hot summer and if you're able to swim on the deep end you can have a little more space

Closed on the hottest days their hours are wrong as well Bakersfield and there hours I swear that why it's so boring here

Such a great place for lap swimming! Wish it were open every morning, but totally understand that they need to do repairs and give staff a break! Great facility for when I'm in Bako visiting family!

IS NOT OPEN UNTIL JUNE 11 just letting anyone know or be aware I live in Arvin and it said it was open but it's really just closed sadly
