This is The Place to Be, if you like sports, entertainment, lots of happy noise, and of course, Irish Spirits!!!It all started with 2 Friends with a Dream to open up an Irish Pub.I've been there since they opened.Check out Karaoke Night!

Security guard at the gate let 3 of us in, and left my buddy outside. He said his ID was fake. All four of us are from out of state there for work. Showed us a stack of "fake IDs" he had confiscated...

Been here a few times over the years and it's always been a good time. We went last Friday for Game 1 of the World Series and they did everything right. Great crowd, great seating, great drinks, great everything. Owner is the man - since they normally don't do food, he bought amazing BBQ for everyone. I wish I could remember the name of the BBQ place because I'd love to go eat there again. He also ordered pizzas for everyone. Even though it was busy, our group never waited for a drink, always got our drink order right. Bartenders were fantastic! Whenever I'm in Bako I'll definitely go into this spot. Go Dodgers!

lovvve this pub! always a top recommendation for people to visit. Amazing security and the bartenders are always friendly and quick with their service.Live music most days and karaoke on Tuesdays!!They also have an outside patio, perfect for the night vibes!

This place is super clean and the staff is fast and friendly, but the drinks are a little on the pricey side compared to other bars in town. The drinks are strong and tasty!This is definitely more of a chill place to have drinks. I didn't notice any pool tables or dart boards, but there were plenty of cozy seats and tables to sit around with your friends and just hang out! They also had several tvs on and good music playing..This is definitely one of the nicer places in town if you're looking for a place to relax and have a few drinks!

This local dive is an awesome place usually! The staff is always friendly, the drinks are well poured and reasonably priced. What sets this place apart is their live music and the amazing bands they usually have play. My husband and I love to come out and dance, but the band they had last night, Rayford, managed to kill the whole vibe of the bar. They are a group of talented musicians, that said, it made me extremely uncomfortable to see the guitarist repeatedly yell at the other people on the stage. We came to dance, you came to play. We ended up leaving because it was a bit excessive to say the least.I'll definitely be back, everyone has a moody day. Maybe they should have poured him another pint

This review is for the staff at McGarry's Irish pub. They are hard workers, pleasant and give great service. They are quick to serve even when business is busy! And believe me, they get busy. The bar is loud, so if you're seeking a quiet spot - this isn't it. The chairs! Omg finally some comfy bar chairs. I hate walking into a restaurant and bar with metal chairs -nooooo! But these guys thought of it all. They definitely made a well spent investment. The bar is good looking and has unique touches such as the penny bar. Check these guys out!

This is My Favorite Irish Pub in Town!Even though nothing will ever replace the old John Bryan's (Did I spell that right?) and The Tam, back in the 80's and before, especially John, the Bartender, and Richard, The Bouncer, McGarry's puts out the same cool, secure vibe of those Bakersfield treasures!They even have a cool live band once in I while. I saw the talented band called Dub Seeds, about a year ago, and the place was jumpin', just like when theThe Press and The Mooners rocked our world, and even let other musicians sit in!!!What makes this place special is Friendship. It was built on Friendship! When James passed away in 2019, his friends pulled their resources together, and created McGarry's to help his family and keep the tradition of his love of sports going.I have participated in a few fundraisers since they opened, and I feel like I am supporting a worthy cause. This is what makes Bakersfield such an amazing place! Johnny Carson made fun of it, because he wasn't well received at the old Maison's on Union Avenue, back in the day, but those of us who have called it home, for almost a half a century, know better! McGarry's is Bakersfield at it's best!!!

Why can't you play anything but country on the jukebox?! We were looking up Lil Wayne and their was no song options.

A couple of friends suggested we head to McGarry's to check out the band Saturday night. The vibe was good and the large crowd was loud. I ordered drinks for the three of us and the service was quick, even with a large crowd on hand. They have Cali Squeeze Blood Orange on tap. If you haven't tried it you should, it's an excellent citrus beer brewed by Firestone brewery in Paso Robles. The band (Misty Red) was stellar. 80's classic rock with an occasional earlier/later circa song thrown in. The guitar work some of the best I've heard in a long time. Female vocals were excellent and the drummer laid down I really quality groove. I can definitely recommend this place for a night on the town. The band played until 11:00PM, I'd liked to have seen them go to midnight. There was also plenty of security on hand which is nice to see when people are out late drinking.
