Holy wow!! We stopped by Maximo's for a quick lunch and boy were we pleasantly surprised!! Great tasting and huge portions! The store was nice and clean with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Their chips are clearly homemade there and were fantastic! Carnitas burrito was flavorful and huge. And the carne asada nachos were absolutely spot on...lots of meat, nice amount of beans, fresh slices of avocado...so good! Definitely will return.

This place has the best tripa tacos they make them crispy and tasty . They also have the best shrimp cocktail and shrimpOr fish tostadas. There is limited seating but most people take out. I def recommend

I used to like this place, but the last two times I went there. It was terrible , the quality of meat that they are using is the worst, full of fat and in edible pieces.... I just had the Pastor burrito I had to pick out half of the meat because there was just a bunch of giant fatty pieces like they forgot to trim it ... and the pieces that weren't fatty, the meat was so tough and so chewy couldn't really eat it. I basically only got half of a burrito for $16 and it was terrible

They "run out" of chicken every time I try and order if it's after 7. Last three times I've tried. No more. If you can't adjust or make it better you are choosing to lose customers. 3 people walked out again tonight because of it.

Porterville has an abundance of Mexican restaurants. So there are many choices. When Maximos first opened, the prices seemed high. So after a visit or two I ignored this place for years. Today, when looking on their website, the prices seem reasonable and I gave it another try. They have a 3-taco deal for $5.99 on their website. I called for a take out and they charged me $6.99. Not too much of a big deal in the big scheme of things. I had the carne asada with everything on it. I asked for all 3 salsas. There was an jalapeno cilantro that had a good kick. Both the salsa roja (red) and salsa verde (green) were also superb in taste, mouth feel and appearance. The carne asada tacos were also very good. Excellent service. I will be going back. Today a friend of mine and I were feeling tacos for our lunch. I wish we would have just gone with the value menu at McDonald's instead. We placed our order over the phone at approximately 11:48 and were told it would be ready in 20 mins. Well that was a complete lie! We wait there until about 12:15, we were trying to be polite and patient and wait until we couldn't anymore due to our lunch time running out. During our waiting time I'd say a good 4 maybe 5 people received their orders. It wasn't until I approached the counter when another customer stood next to me and that person received their food before me!! I asked the employee if my food was ready and she stated "what did you have in your order" and as she scattered around she said "oh here it is" it had been sitting in a plastic bag. Already bagged and ready to go! Which makes me wonder how much longer we would have waited if we wouldn't have got up and asked ourselves. And just to finish with the cherry on top when we opened our tacos to finally eat I open up my plate to burnt carnitas. I wish I would have taken a picture of this but I was truly infuriated and disgusted with the outcome of this lunch meal. And mind you these 8 tacos we got were $30 something dollars. Please do better when providing customer service. I have worked fast food and I know what it's like to be in a rush but it's better to give the customer a well prepared meal than a crappy one.
