First time here being in Bakersfield. It was a good time here and my family and I enjoyed our time there. We got to meet the owner and her daughter. Very welcoming and nice tight knit of regular customers as well. Not very large but very convenient especially to the small Filipino community here. I would definitely recommend you check this place out. Oh we are coming back for our smoked tinapaSmoked pampano. We will be bringing back with us to San Diego

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I found siopao (sho-pow I think), which is essentially the Filipino way of saying Chinese siubao (shuh-bow) - pork buns! Yes, in Bakersfield, I know right?! She also had what could be best described as banana fried spring rolls, a sweet and tasty dessert that is lightly crispy. Also, fried mochi balls that are lightly crispy and sweet. There was also Jubes, basically coconut cubes in flavored juice that are chewy / gummy almost like boba / tapioca pearls. Plenty of other Filipino dishes / treats / snacks to choose from.

Nice people and great peanuts. They seldom have pancit when I go. The time I was able to get the pancit it was good. The adobo is ok. I have not tried

Like coming to this filipino store. Owner is very kind. Filipino veges we're fresh like long beans, eggplant, bitter melon, etc. not really a big filipino store but it's good enough to buy what you needed when cooking Filipino dish or dishes. Their liempo lechon belly is good and crispy pata as well. They will fry it for you. 10 mins a wait is ok.. pampano tinapa and Bangus WOW!!! It's delicious!!! Must try and super our local filipino store! Mabuhay, po!!!

First and foremost, I would have probably rated this place a good 4 star rating, but after reading everyone's reviews and then coming to this establishment a few times... it got me thinking. When you come, the place is never busy and the place is not clean. I never think anything of it because I'm from Delano and a lot of Filipino stores are not too organized and so I don't judge the place on how well organized the shelves and boxes are, but when you really look at this place, you start second guessing yourself.I have had "fresh" from my understanding and that's me being hopeful... fried Pompano from here and each time has been fantastic. I enjoyed the fried Pompano and it saved me time in my kitchen to scale, gut and fry the fish, so it was really convenient to order food and have it ready in 20min. I also bought Linugaw here which definitely took me back to my childhood when I helped my mom in the kitchen roll up the little chewy bolas... and it was delicious before I read previous reviews... then I ate it after the reviews also and I just don't feel good eating it. There's no dates on the containers, so I don't know when it was made.I really don't know if I can come back with the thought of maggots, I'm so sorry Magat. I have really enjoyed the pompano here and the little setup reminds me of the Filipino stores in Delano, but I just can't get past the creepy crawlies in the fish. I honestly believe, you should check it out for yourself before making any judgment on the place, I just don't see myself trying it again.
