Hands down the best Mexican food in the area!!! Homemade tortillas. The carne asada burrito is the best. They also have a few American food items on the menu. We drive 45 minutes just to eat here. The Owner is super nice. You have to try them if you are in the area!

Disappointed honestly, I was in Delano for work today and stopped by for lunch after reading several great reviews, sadly I didn't share their experience. I had the chile verde burrito and found it to be very underwhelming. There was little to no spice in the chile verde, no heat at all which is a big let down. The verde and beans were just very very bland. The burrito was scorching hot, I couldn't even pick it up at first leading me to believe it was assembled and then microwaved, another letdown. The icing on the cake and reason for the 1 star was near the end of my meal. I watched the man working there pick up a bag of trash, take it out to the dumpster, open the dumpster, put the trash in and press it down, close the dumpster and then walk back inside the restaurant and resume chopping and touching food behind the counter without washing or sanitizing his hands. Made me regret eating there at all and if I had seen that before I got my food I would have walked out.

Placed an order for lunch here based on a recommendation from a friend. Behind Hispanic myself, I hold "Mexican" food to a pretty high standard. Delano has over a dozen places to choose from. UNFORTUNATELY, this was such a disappointment. I was better off taking leftovers from home and warming them at work. I watched the owner (very sweet man) scoop rice & beans into a to go container, figured it was fresh food. Then he rolled up the tortillas from and placed them in the same container, added cheese & sauce and put the entire thing into the MICROWAVE. I thought to melt the cheese... but they were in there for a solid 3 minutes. It came out steaming and the container was almost melted. I was floored. Nonetheless I have already paid for my meal. Took it back to the office to eat... More disappoint after that, basic store bought canned sauce, old rice and beans. A couple bones in the shredded chicken, although that had decent flavor. Every thing else was just blah. Never again returning. It's been around for years and it has a very loyal clientele base. I won't be one of them.

We stopped by passing thru on a trip -- saw they were known for crispy tacos on Yelp and that sounded so good so we stopped and ordered 3 apiece -- shredded beef, lettuce, cheese, and hot sauce. They were incredibly good -- crispy but not greasy -- really delicious -- but that hot sauce -- y'all. If you can't handle heat tell them to hold it - it was SPICY! My nose was running and eyes watered -- I can usually handle some heat but even my husband who definitely can handle heat said it was spicy! So just a beware -- those tacos are excellent but the hot sauce is HOT -- and it comes standard on the tacos! The service was great too -- nice little place!

There are no shortage of Mexican restaurants in Delano so I was looking for one with good reviews and found Lupe's. It's situated in the middle of what seems like an old part of town. There is plenty of seating inside but it seems more like a takeout place. Ordered a chile verde burrito and potato taquitos. The chile verde was spicy and flavorful. Beans and rice were delicious. It also had cheese inside which I wasn't expecting but it was really good. The taquitos were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Really good. My son got the carne asada fries. It came with a large portion. With 2 drinks, all of the food was only about $24. All the food is reasonably priced and if I'm ever back in town I'd love to try more of the menu. Everything we had was delicious and tasted just like homemade.

I came here looking for hole in the wall Mexican food, but found something a lot better. The food here taste homemade with care. I got a carne asada burrito and a quesadilla mex. Both were delicious. The quesadilla was delicately fried. The restaurant was clean and the staff all wore mask.

It's been years since I've eaten here. Was wondering how it would be after so many years. The owner says he has had it for 35years but my memories go back to the 60s. I ordered a taco enchilada combo plate. Service was quick and food tasty. But with so many Mexican restaurants in Delano it's difficult to say which one is better or tastier. So I hold my opinion until I have made my rounds in Delano. Of course I would recommend this place.

This restaurant is always serving homemade tortillas. Menu items such as their tacos (soft and hard shell) and taquitos are homemade. I have been going to this restaurant for years and they do not disappoint. I love how they care about their customers by making sure they leave the restaurant satisfied with their meal. As far as following the CDC guidelines, the workers are complying with the rules by wearing masks and gloves while preparing the food. Though there is no indoor seating due to the state restrictions, the restaurant maintains their cleanliness throughout the dining area. The food I ordered was well prepared and made in 15 minutes. The photos shown are their hard shell chicken tacos, al pastor burrito, and chicken taquitos.
