Los Tucanes Taqueria

I'm guessing the rain is keeping folks from dining out. I decided to take a walk to Los Tucanes for a bite to eat. I was pleased with the food and the cleanliness of the place, not to mention the customer service. The value is about the same as other similar places.

The food was delicious, the restaurant was so clean, which is a plus to me and my family, only drawback is that there are no public restrooms for customers

Looking for an Okay place to dine in the Old Town Kern area of Bakersfield? Los Tucanes Taqueria is a place to try. I tried them for myself recently. It is not a fancy place. Dining area is small, but the staff member would wipe the tables off when there were no customers. I tried a couple of items. Got me an Al Pastor Taco and a Quesabirria Quesedilla. Both items were decent. For the price point, I'd probably return to Los Tucanes Taqueria to try other items off their menu. Business was steady during my time there. So, they do have their fans.

Authentic scrumptious Mexican good. They serve a yummy off the menu chile relleno burrito! Great rice and beans.

Always hits the spot. Local mom and pop shop been open for a couple years now. Everytime I'm in town, I gotta stop by. Their wet burrito is fire. Can't go wrong with some tacos or a torta.

If ur in the area ..an your looking for that good home cooking..full of flavor this is the place !! Clean good service what more could u ask for ..

Breakfast burritos- yum They will special order and make yours to order. My husband like steak, eggs, and potatoes, nothing else, in his burrito and they always accommodate. The lines are long sometimes but worth the wait. You order any the counter but they bring your food to you. You seat yourself. There are only 8 tables (a tiny place) but I really like it here. #ajoyoustaxresult

I had a PD at the District Office nearby and little time to go elsewhere. I decided to stop and grab something to go. I have been here before a few years back and was unimpressed. Proximity prevailed and I am glad it did. I ordered shrimp tacos and was very happy with the quality of shrimp because a lot of places in Bakersfield use limp, dilapidated shrimp that has an off-putting texture. But the shrimp here were top-quality. Which makes what I have write next that much more difficult. Instead of receiving whole shrimp in my tacos, I found bits and pieces of cut-up shrimp pieces. I know the state of the economy is killing us all but as a customer who paid $20 for this plate of two tacos with a can of soda, I felt somewhat ripped off. I pay less at Chipotle and receive a lot more food that is just as fresh and tasty. Other than that, the woman behind the counter was very nice and the place has a small-town charm that is fitting for this part of town.

Wow!!! I don't know if they have a new cook, but they just served us the butteriest & creamiest carne asada taco!!! Did you know that that is possible? And that it actually tastes really out of this world!??!! Maybe they're experimenting? Our usual go to for: tripas taco, lengua taco, & carne asada jumbo wet burrito! Yes, yes, the carne asada was a whim today and I'm not sure if carne asada tacos are supposed to be buttery and creamy, BUT it was really delicious!!! Plus, they always have that little calm and beautiful detail: flowers!
