Los Amores De Julia

Los Amores de Julia is such a beautiful place! The ambiance is stunning, with a design that's truly pleasing to the eye. The food was quite good, too! We ordered the chilaquiles that were perfectly crunchy paired with a deliciously spicy sauce that really hit the spot. I also tried the quesabirria tacos with broth on the side, and they were flavorful.The drinks were aesthetically pleasing. However, I ordered the mezcalito flight, and unfortunately, it was far too sweet--more like flavored candy--which overpowered the taste of the mezcal.The staff was attentive and personable but there seemed to be a communication issue, as our food and drinks took a bit of a detour around the restaurant before arriving at our table. We were also there for a Mariachi and they never showed up. That said, I'm looking forward to returning once these small issues are ironed out. This place has a lot of potential!

After seeing the sign being put up and realizing it's going to be a new Mexican restaurant in town. (I mean really?! Another one..... "Sigh".) My companion and I decided to give them a try. I will say that this restaurant is absolutely beautifully decorated. The rest is absolutely disappointing. The food was highly overpriced and very small portions were given. The service was infrequent and the drink sizes were also quite small compared to other Mexican restaurants. I have to say that I'm not going to return to this place.

This place is fairly new but they seemed to have it down for only being open a few weeks. Went for a bday brunch on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. The bar area is very spacious and they have a variety of tequilas and spirits. We didn't sit at the bar area but that was fine because if you ordered any of their specialty flights, they brought the bar to you! They have a small mobile bar that they roll to your table and prepare the flights for you on the spot. Pretty cool. The food was great! Variety of options! We ordered appetizers and honestly that was filling. We had the esquite. Quest fundido. Guacamole. And a few others. All of them were great.

How to express the deliciousness that was given to us at this establishment? Let's start with service, raymundo was full off information and was very caring. He made wonderful recommendations in every category of the menu. He was so happy to share with us about each dish. The enchiladas mole were fabulous, full of flavor. The asada fries were small but also very good. The fish tacos on handmade fresh corn tortillas were absolutely delicious. With homemade salsas and corn tortillas this reminded me of my great grandmother. The drinks while a little pricey had great taste and presentation. This place is wonderful for a date night. The only recommendation I would have is make the serving size just a little bigger.

I have waited to post this review for a couple weeks. I will now explain my reason. We had a group of 9 that visited this establishment. We were excited a new place to go. We had to wait till half our party was there to be seated, why I'm not sure because the restaurant was mainly empty except for maybe 3 tables. And there was plenty of seating. Once we got seated the waitress gave us our menus and instructed us when taking our drink order they could not give individual bills. They would only do 3 bills per our table so well we had to figure out how or who would be on each ticket. We always pay separately and haven't had any issues any other place. Well we all placed our orders and when they delivered the food one person didn't get theirs. We waited patiently but it took forever for a simple cheese enchiladas dish, everyone was almost done when it finally arrived. There was a server a male and he was doing this dancing at other patrons tables, it was so inappropriate. The place has nice decor and could have potential but not with some guy grinding on customers ordering specific beverages or having a celebration thing. We all agreed as women it was something we wouldn't want our kids to see. His sexual moves on not only women but on men who obviously were unwelcome. It was down right nasty. So 1st the ticket issue then the food problem at our table then the vulger waitstaff grinding all over the place with his dance moves. Then we'll the woman who's meal arrived late decided since it was so late being brought to the table she'd order her boyfriend a meal to go. She ordered a salmon dish. The tickets were given we had to zelle each other money to pay for the tickets because of how they were split. My ticket for 3 meals and 3 drinks 196.00 super expensive and it's not all that. So we pay and leave. The salmon take out dinner ended up being spoiled. I call the restaurant talk to the manager who passes me off to some girl and after all the nights disaster they only credit the one meal instead over covering the girls two meals for all the mess. Super unprofessional so please if you visit this place be warned. We have all agreed that none of us will ever visit this place again for the lack of class and the terrible business we recieved especially giving spoiled food and charged 34 dollars for it. Not good at all.

The service was ok...it's simply just another one "high class" Mexican restaurant. We have enough of those here already. The music was too loud to even carry a conversation and the food was just ok. The menu didn't pop out to me and the prices were def not the best. I personally wouldn't go back.

Last minute thing and we ended up here for Valentine's Day with another couple. Of course it was busy like any other restaurant on a holiday for couples but Food was fantastic our waitress Valeria was great with us she didn't let anything get in the way from giving us her best service including the language barrier. Gracias Valeria por ser agradable y dar buen servicio. Our first experience was good but it could have been great if music wasn't so loud great music tho just to loud.

Long overdue for Bakersfield Came on a rainy Monday night at 6:15.Reservations were made through open table.The whole reservation process was simple and easy.The host greeted our party of 4 with a smile and seated us within one minute or two.Ordered the queso fresco with some fresh hand made tortillas and I asked for "Asientos" on the tortillas which made them WAY better.The cheese was so soft and full of flavor.I also enjoyed the red sauce and the pico de gallo.We ordered several plates of food for dinner and my friend also ordered some tableSide Mezcalitas, while another friend ordered some cafe de olla which he stated was AMAZING.Over all I loved my cut of Arranchera with the Grilled onions and jalapeños.I would definitely recommend Los Amores de Julia to all my friends and family for a great Dinner or Brunch Experience.10/10!

Decided to go here for a friends birthday The food was really good I got the a lo Méxicano steak, it was full of flavor and not dry at all, their rice and beans were really good too and even their drinks were good. The service was okay but the birthday dance they gave my buddy was great haha.

I have been wanting to try out Los Amores De Julia since they opened and they did not disappoint. The food was AMAZING and the drinks were absolutely delicious! Brandon was our server and he really made our time there even better. He was attentive and gave great tips on what to order. He was so welcoming and I was texting my family before I left so we could plan another visit. I saw comments about the price but honestly I don't mind paying for quality food and a good experience. As someone from LA....this is definitely a gem in Bakersfield so do yourself a favor and check it out!
