Lorene's Ranch House & Coffee Shop

We love this place and the one downtown it we visited this place because it was closer to our next destination. Upon entering we were greeted and served drinks right away. Our server was really nice and our order was taken right away too. They were not busy at all either so I think that helps too so it was really quiet. This place is really clean too. On this visit I ordered the Early Bird and my husband ordered the Lorene's omelette. I usually get the breakfast combo but wanted hash browns. Our food was delicious as always with plenty of flavor and their salsa is amazing too. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here.

Lorraine's Coffee Shop I can remember going with my father to Lorraine's in the 70s. We would walk from his work to the 24th Street location. A lot has changed since then, but Lorene's hasn't, with the exception of its location. It is simple American food served by delightful ladies much like it has always been. That being said, Coffee hasn't stood still for the past 50 years. And simply hot and brown doesn't cut it anymore. So if you're familiar with terms like pour over, crema, tamper or anything in Italian, may I recommend skipping the coffee. Lorene's (Coffee Shop) Diner. Perhaps?

First time here. We love a good diner. This was perfect. Service was fast and friendly, restaurant was kept clean and prices were respectable. I ordered the mega breakfast and partner ordered the California omelette. We both enjoyed our meal and waitresses brought out authentic Mexican salsa on the side and wow!! Coffee was great and they came often to refill if needed! We will definitely be back!

This review is going to seem like it conflicts itself, but stay with me lolThis is a small, old, no frills type of breakfast joint. The meals are simple and to the point. Nothing to write home about. You're not going to find some extravagant "never been done before" menu items or over the top messy lattes that drip down the cup. The staff are just normal folks; not overtly chatty or interactive. But please, do NOT misinterpret this as me hating the place! The food was so tasty and really felt like I was eating something someone cooked for me in their home. The coffee was perfect. The serving sizes were perfect. The basic decor really made it feel cozy and welcoming. I wasn't uncomfortable sitting here and I wasn't overwhelmed by anything in the restaurant. The waitresses were friendly and kept my coffee full without bugging me every few minutes. It was an absolutely beautiful experience. lolThis is EXACTLY the kind of place I WANT to eat at! 10/10 recommend coming here for a warm, relaxing meal that feels like grandma cooked it just for you.

We moved closer to this location so we decided to have lunch there. It was busy. I noticed the 2 servers doing their best to take care of the crowd. It was getting warm inside. Then the a/c turned on.We ordered breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was a good size plate. The wings were good and tasted better than Tony's Pizza right next door. I will definitely return to try other entrees.

Best iced tea in town ! We come here and enjoy the service , which is beyond the best in the central valley. Food is always great and cooked to perfection. We appreciate you all

Came to Bakersfield to visit my boyfriends mom and she wanted to go here for breakfast. We were seated right away. We received excellent service. Food came out nice and hot and there was a lot. I guess you can say it's a typical coffee shop. No fancy decor, but had good coffee, good food, and great service and that's what its all about when going out to eat. I will add the prices weren't to bad either.You can't go wrong with Lorene's

I've been here a few times over the years, most recently when all the trendy breakfast spots had 30 minute+ waits on a Sunday morning. Lorene's was bustling, but we were seated right away. Service was no-nonsense and pretty quick. The coffee was strong and hot, and the chicken fried steak breakfast wall well seasoned and very satisfying.This is a solid spot for unassuming, comforting food.

The food was excellent, the country fried steak was the best I've ever had. Very well seasoned, nice and crispy, and the gravy was delicious too. The French toast was yummy too, not mushy but not burnt. Our waitress Kassidy was super sweet and attentive. Definitely coming back again!
