Lily's Cafe

After eating basic food dressed up as fancy (priced as fancy, too) for a few days (LA eating), stopping by Lily's Cafe on the way out was refreshing. The food isn't the only thing that is great here: the general vibe, the attitude, and the service. It's next door to a bowling alley, so, you know, the bowling vibe. Distilled to its essence, Lily's Cafe is a diner.The average patron age is 70 (Sunday morning). I'm not sure I would go here for any meal other than breakfast. Mark my words. My gut tells me that breakfast is their expertise.The laid-back, long game of life is being played here at Lily's Cafe. Unpretentious and unassuming, you are welcomed by plants of all types lining the entryway. Anyone with an old hippie friend will know what I'm talking about. The plants aren't all thriving - they aren't overachieving. They are growing, but they aren't showing off. And it's in a strip mall. Bold. I like it.Lily's place has TVs if you are worried about missing the game. The channels are different, so soccer, football, and basketball are all potentially covered. There are also LED lights (post-Christmas?), so it feels festive.

What a nice spot! Hidden GEM! I cannot tell you but I will.... Do not do a disservice to your person! Take your family to this hidden gem! The customer service is amazing! We will be back!

A favorite local restaurant in the SCV with the sweetest and friendliest owners! The restaurant is a homely little spot connected to the bowling alley with such delicious food. We love ordering the Chicken Fried Steak, Loco Moco, and especially the Fried Rice. The portions are huge and you definitely leave feeling full and satisfied! If you haven't been here you should it's a family favorite of many locals...

I was meeting my friend for dinner in downtown Newhall but we wanted something low-key and not on Main Street. After trying to find a restaurant that served breakfast all day we found it here. It's funny neither of us wound up ordering breakfast but the portions were generous the prices reasonable and not the greasy spoon I expected. The reason why I expected a greasy spoon was just because it has that old coffee shop look and is connected to a bowling alley! Honestly honestly if I knew about the bowling alley connection I probably would've never tried it but I am so glad that I did!My friend had the club sandwich and it came with perfectly crispy crinkle fries. Her sandwich was amazing looking and she really enjoyed it. I had the grilled salmon salad and I was super impressed that it was a mixture of Romaine and spinach not just iceberg or Romaine. I would say if you're looking for a casual quiet diversified simple menu this would be your place

I love that this little restaurant is attached to the bowling alley! There's brunch, lunch and dinner to be had here. Great to bring the whole family, or come in with friends. Laid back atmosphere, customer service is fantastic! The burgers are great, fries are crispy, and thank you for the free watermelon and the discount on my bill! Going the extra step really made me feel appreciated. Love to support family run places in town, and bring others to enjoy the yummy food!

Pretty solid diner. Had the club sandwich with fries and the taco salad with chicken. Nice little plate of fruit as a starter. The club sandwich (my go to for diner sandwiches) was nice and fresh and the fries were especially crispy. The taco salad was surprisingly good. Nice service here.

What a lil treasure ! Tucked away in a strip mall next to smart and final, such a delightful patio with art work and easels, potted succulents and flowers. It had a wonderful secret garden charm, Amazing sandwiches and so tasty. This place deserves a visit if you are in newhall. Family owned.

Food was good. We liked it. I liked the crispy corned beef hash. Coffee was good. Had 3 cups. Everyone was very friendly. It's a small place but cozy. Well definitely come back and try other stuff. Oh, they also give a little bowl of cut fruit free. Needs a little updating, but seemed clean. Cute plants and paintings in the front patio and inside. Attached to the bowling alley.

We ordered the liver and onions and they did not disappoint Our Uncle and his wife have been going there forever.
