Lengthwise at the Marketplace

We somehow have managed to never dine at this specific lengthwise location until yesterday! We had a craving for some of their food and decided to branch out from the usual rosedale location. Parking was really easy and the location was nice and steady but not so busy we couldn't get help fast. We ended up ordering and taking a seat not too far from the bar top. The employees were super sweet to my baby, who kept staring them down and listening to their conversations! She was so nosey but the employees interacted with her when they could and it was so fun.Our food was really delicious and tasted pretty fresh. I ordered a sandwich and my husband got a burger. Very american style dishes offered here, just like good pub food as expected. Our food came out decently quickly and the runners were also nice and helpful. It was awesome they had high chairs too. It's really hard to find places that are so chill and spacious and kind when you bring an infant, so I very much appreciated this location. Great food, great employees, easy parking.

Really good beer!! Very clean inside, lots of beers to choose from. I like the blondes and pilsners....all of them! We even tried the pumpkin ale and was shocked at how delicious it was, we really just tried it for the heck of it but wow, a seasonal must try! Also the bartender was very friendly and attentive!

I've never had a bad time here. This is a great out of the way, yet centralized and easy to find location with a variety of seating, both indoors and out. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their product. The beer and food are both delicious and the atmosphere is relaxing.Be sure to check in on the Bakersfield Beer Trail tour!

Came for lunch with my mom, cousin, and my youngest. I usually frequent the District location yet this location was the most convenient at the time we all met up. We all ordered the chicken strips, yet I ordered the chicken strips AND stinky fries. My cousin ordered the fried artichokes to share and this was my first and definitely not last time I will be having these! The batter was light and the sauce that accompanied the artichokes was perfection! The chicken strips are my favorite menu item along with the stinky fries. The chicken strips were delicious and moist paired with BBQ sauce and ranch! The stinky fries are heavenly with garlic and Gorgonzola cheese! This location was a very nice open space and very clean! Server at counter was very nice. Only issue was that the lemonade in the fountain was not lemonade and was dispensing water. Have been a fan of lengthwise for years! Nice to see another location!

Lengthwise, a staple of Bakersfield brewing. This location is near CSUB, shopping, movie theater, and bike trail. My partner and I enjoy coming here for the fish and chips and one of their locally brewed beers. I chose to go with Harvest Moon, a wheat beer. It was full bodied and refreshing. The fish and chips came with french fries and definitely enough to share. Service is always on point, it is pretty quiet during the week, so if you're looking for a more upbeat vibe, you should come Friday or Saturday nights.

Great food and good beer selection. Highly recommend! Fish tacos were amazing, variety of IPA and non IPA selection.

Friendly and informative staff. Drinks are better than the food which is fried bar fare.

I enjoyed my blueberry sour here but that was about it .The wings were just okay and so were the chicken tenders with fries. Also, note that they don't offer blue cheese dressing for the wings, just ranch, so, blue cheese lovers beware. The wings and tenders were under-seasoned for my taste; perhaps other items on the large menu would be better. They have a lot of variety which is great. The vibe and service of this neighborhood spot was very chill and casual. I would definitely come back just for drinks.

My mom and I have this little tradition--we go run errands together and stop halfway through to grab a drink and a snack to make the task more palatable. We were near the marketplace and hadn't tried Lengthwise yet, and since we were feeling brave, we sauntered in out of the heat. We chose a table just far enough away from others to be "Covid compliant" but close enough to the bar to be noticed, and there we sat. We were there for about 15 minutes and none of the employees even glanced in our direction. All the customers seemed like regulars, so the employees were too busy socializing to even realize we existed.So we got up and left and nobody cared.It felt like middle school all over again.Definitely won't be venturing out like that again. Live and learn.

The beer selection is good. The vibe was good and the service was quick. I could do without some of the folks that were there, but that's not Lengthwise's fault.
