Lee's House of Music

I took my Taylor guitar to Lee's House of Music for a neck reset and repair of the electronic pickup system (took about 5 days). He charged $160 which I thought was fair. But after I got the guitar home, I heard something rattling around inside the guitar body! One of the 2 bolts that holds the neck to the guitar's top side wasn't even screwed in and just fell out while driving home! It wasn't even attached meaning the neck wasn't secure with the strings installed! A neck reset is what I requested and paid for but it wasn't completed... I left a message on Lee's company voicemail but no response so far. Unbelievable and inexcusable. He fixed minor damage to the top and also fixed the electronics but I had to remove the strings in order to re-install the bolt and washer using a socket, extension, and socket wrench. While loosening it, the high E string decided to break as well so now I have to buy another set of elixir strings. I also noticed the bolt he did install wasn't very tight so I had to tighten that up too. All in all I guess you get what you pay for. Good work but not completed! Could have caused the neck to separate from the body and damage the guitar.

Lees is small but mighty! Needed strings for my guitar, dulcimer and guitalele. Not only was the owner knowledgable but he graciously strung the guitar for me, nice. He had all I was looking for, especially a Snark tuner. This place is not easy to find but worth the visit. Call before going as his hours can vary. So happy Tehachapi has him, thank you!

The owner was real helpful . Made me feel out home . Gave me a great deal for a guitar. Very helpful on my selection. Allie me to put it on lay away . Plus helped me find his place over the phone .

Our family has used this store a couple of times and had great success. The store is small but they seemed to have what we were looking for and even directed us to some other places for additional things that we were considering. Once we needed a snare drum stand to use for a practice drum and he had a used one that he gave us for less than $10.. and another time we needed repair on an instrument and he was able to do it cheaply and correctly in a short time. I'm impressed :)

My sons 14 & 11 asked for guitars for Christmas. Being skeptical of their commitment, we didn't want to jump into new guitars. Our family friends pulled two out of the attic and they were in sad shape. I thought I'd take them in and see if they could be salvaged. No problem at all! I dropped them off on Saturday and they were done and as good as new on Tuesday! I'll definitely give them all my future business.

Great little music store. A fine place to learn too. I went there to get my Trombone tuned. They did a good job.No hot dogs though, and that stinks. I was hungry.Three Stars

I've taken lessons from here, one of the guitar teachers there Steve Hall has written lots of teaching material, I highly recommend this for guitar repair and lessons

I am currently taking lessons from Steve Hall and am very pleased with his patients and teaching methods. I have waited 45 years to take lessons and Steve has taught me so much in just two months. I highly recommend Seve to anyone young or old, in my case. I look forward to each and every lesson weekly.

Honest, competent, fast, reasonably priced!Earlier this month I took my 26-year-old stereo receiver in for service, because of a 120 Hz hum getting louder and louder. Based on Web research, I expected the power supply would need to be rebuilt with new capacitors. The very next business day, at lunchtime, Lee called and said all it had needed was a thorough cleaning. Before I paid, he played it in his shop and asked me to verify that the hum was gone, which it was. The fee for cleaning seemed quite reasonable to me, and the super-fast service was a big plus!
