The owner, RexLaverne, is very generous with his time, when he has it. Like most owner/operators of small businesses in the "GRUESOME NEWSOME" State of California, our small businesses are suffering tremendously just because of over pricing, due to poorly run government entities. Insurance companies are refusing to reinstate policies because the cost of covering claims and operating in the once "Golden State" (which is now darkened) is simply outrageous. When will this unabashed assault on small businesses/owners/operators end?? Even simple folk who are living off of social security and retirement that they actually worked and sacrificed for (OMG! Work? Sacrifice?) are being targeted. Oh, no! Work and sacrifice are now dirty words. Who does that anymore?? I'll tell you who - Rex LaVerne and his crews. They work hard. Very very hard. Yes, mistakes are always made by workers (as well as customers like myself) who didn't stop to realize the tremendous sacrifices these men have to endure to climb in hot, dark, rat-poop infested attics, crawl spaces, and they do these hard, hard jobs come rain or shine.At times, they really can't even breathe in these horrible places, but for the love of his customers, his country, and freedom that still exists (getting more and more remote) every day, they show up with a smile, ready and willing to face whatever may come their way. Tis the season, Sunday morning it was chilly in the guest side of our house I went over to adjust thermostat up a couple degrees no problem right? Well nothing happened double checked it my wife double checked it too. This was not good .We have family coming for Christmas they'll be here for a couple days. No hiding the fact we had no heat. I could leave extra blankets on their bed, no it had to be fixed for them it's Christmas. One of my golf buddies just had a inspection and service of his heating unit by LaVerne & Sons he was very satisfied. I called them first thing this morning they open at 7am. The friendly lady on the phone listened to my sad story, she said she could have a technician there between 8-10 today and what the service call would be I was elated I gave her my address phone # & other info and thanked her, it was simple and easy. My phone rang about 5 minutes later it the LaVerneTechnician it was 7:40 he said he'd be there in 20 minutes. Wow that was fast er than I expected. I was showered and dressed before Vincent their friendly technician rang our doorbell. I told him whatwas going on showed him the thermostat. Vincent explained what he would do and what the costs were first, then inspect the unit and assess the problem then we would go from there . I felt vey comfortable I had called the right company. Vincent was up in the attic for a few minutes. He came down once went out to his clean well stocked truck and was back up his ladder in no time. I heard the heater fire up like it used to do. it started and stopped a few times at least he got it running that was a plus t thought. He was back down with a smile.I was a simple fix no parts were used he reattached a part that had comeloose our unit is 31 yrs old. Vincent was friendly efficient andKnowledgeable, he also took care of the billing. I also received written information on the price of new units including installation and 3 different monthly service plans. LaVerne and Sons are trustworthy and fair they will be my choice from now on They should be yours too

Coupon was not applied to service, "technician"told my wife unit needed freon then it didn't need freon it needed a $1200. TVX replaced, he didn't re-seal the unit so my struggling unit was now cooling my garage as well. Then the employee left trash in my garage, my wife gave the employee a nice cold bottle of water, he left that trash on the ground next to the unit along with the wrap he pulled off the copper lines. I talked with the employee and he stated he was already at home, he later said he would come back in his personal vehicle and take care of it but I didn't want to have anything to do with this company anymore. I called a different company they did some checking, added some freon and everything is nice and comfortable again.

AC went out yesterday at about 4pm right when it was 106 degrees outside. I called them right away and they scheduled me for the next day between 12-4pm. Not ideal, but that's fine I'll work with it. The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful. The next day Kyle called around 1030 saying he's running a bit early and if he could come right now. Hell yeah you can! It's already getting hot. He quickly fixed it, tuned it, and cleaned the coils cause of all the Bakersfield dust. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. Kyle was really nice and helpful with explaining what went wrong. I highly recommend Laverne and Son for your air conditioning needs.

We needed our AC checked on a 100+degree day. They were prompt to come out. He replaced Capacitor & a booster. Our AC stopped working and had a experienced tech out. He said he put wrong size capacitor and would burn out motor. He also said booster was not needed. Laverne & Son charged us 750 and part was 100. He also said we need a new unit 10-15,000. Works perfect now after experienced tech fixed. Beware of over charging and false Diagnosing.

Do the crew and Personnel of Laverne & Son after the fourth try you finally got my air conditioning working fine so I give you a five-star review I took away my one star. In the future you need to tell your technicians to take a little bit more time and diagnose correctly the first time you know like is a condenser plugged up with dirt is the fan motor plugged up with dirt is the birdcage plugged up with dirt does it have a loose wire does it have a burnt wire is it low on freon that's the reason why we hire professionals we expect you to be a professional and give us Professional Service eventually you did and I appreciate it I will recommend you to somebody else now thank you very much for your time Kurt

They did an excellent job with our system. We had someone come by a year ago and they made a huge mistake with our systems that Laverne and Son caught. Laverne and son spent two long days diagnosing, fixing, installing, working on our system. They were professional and kind. We finally have a system that works! Yay!!! Thank you guys!

We have used this company for years and they have been reliable and have provided good work. On the summer maintenance this year for our AC a small part was recommended to be replaced: a Packard Definite Purpose Contactor stock number C240A. LaVern and Sons charged us $250 for the part. I checked online and this exact same part can be bought for $11.42. Owner Rex explained they have overhead charges, price of gas, etc., etc...... Right. He provided an invoice said to be from another vendor who charged $350 for the part. All I can say is two wrongs don't make it right and these charges are nowhere near reasonable.
