I have always received excellent help at this library, over the summer they hosted a birthday party for Harry Potter which was fun and my daughter loved! I enjoy that you can reserve books ahead of time, makes for an easy quick trip.

I love this place. It's a library. I do hope we get more hours, but whatever keeps the doors open is what works for me!!This library is very very well-planned and welcoming. The premises are kept clean and the books look well-cared for. The service has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. There are resources for community services, computers, and free WiFi. Check it out. Loads of parking in the back.

Here's a multiple choice trivia question for you: Acceptable activities at a public library include: (A.) Watching a movie from your laptop while playing the audio on your laptop speakers. (B.) Playing poker with your buddies, while laughing loudly and frequently using profanity. (C.) Talking on your cellphone loudly while it is on speakerphone. (D.) Playing a music video from your laptop while singing along with your friend. (E.) Looking through the selection of books while allowing your small children to run around the library, unattended, playing hide and seek. (F.) Quietly sitting and reading a book. If you answered anything other than "choice F," then you would be the typical person that visits this library. I kid you not, I have seen people here doing all of these things at this library. Unfortunately, although this library has a lot of potential, a large portion of the people that come here can not maintain simple library etiquette, and they ruin the experience for those that are more courteous. This library has a wonderful staff though, 5-star worthy in my opinion. I have talked with several of the employees while visiting here, and everyone has been very friendly and professional. Unfortunately, I believe the staff here is just not equipped to handle the large portion of substandard individuals that visit this location. To help mitigate this, this library has a small station near the entrance for security, but I rarely see anyone sitting there, and I have NEVER seen anyone monitoring the library for inappropriate behavior. Sadly, there are a lot of people financially struggling in Lancaster, and there are many homeless individuals in the nearby area. Because of this, as others have noted in their reviews, you may experience unusual behavior here that you would otherwise never see. Most of the time, there are a few disheveled individuals loitering around outside, some of whom come inside the library. In addition to the unacceptable behavior listed above, while in the restroom at this library, I have also seen individuals shaving, brushing their teeth, and even giving themselves a sponge-bath...quite a disturbing thing to see when you enter the restroom! Needless to say, most of the time the restroom looks like a pigsty. In short, the employees that work here are wonderful, and they should each get a pay-raise for the people that they frequently must tolerate. To help, this library desperately needs additional security to handle the inappropriate people that come here so that this public library can actually be used for its intended purpose. Finally, if you're coming here to actually read, here's a tip for you: bring ear plugs.

This is my third time at this Library and I love it. People at the front desk are very nice, specially Morena, who made my day by going above and beyond to provide me a great service.I wish more employees were like her. I also love this library because it has a kids' library separated from the adults' library which makes it better for everyone and safer for the kids.

The inside is really nice!Free WiFi to library card members. Nice stores surrounding the area and the service is good. I really dislike the amount of homeless asking for money, they'll stand outside (away from the glass doors so they're not seen) Also someone took a mean ole dump in the corner near the entrance. Possibly a homeless person I don't know. But you could tell it was human shit. I probably won't go back to this location. But the library itself is super nice. Security guards are present but kind of do their own thing. Overall my experience was good I just won't be coming back.

I love libraries! All libraries start off with 3 stars. + Book club! The club is small and exclusive but we have cookies!!! We usually meet on the third Thurs of the month in a side conference room. + The kid's section is lovely! Lots of tables with big chairs for big people and little chairs for little people. They have Dora the explorer on the computers. + Baby section in the front of the library. +/- Parking is spacious, albeit with a stretch of walking in the dark. I keep thinking of zombies while I am speed walking to my car. + Hours are fine though I wish they would open later. + Location is wonderful! I love the pretty, pretty Lancaster blvd strip! - The info desk person sometimes has no clue. I was waiting in line for at least 5 pages of a novel before I decided to help the info desk out by searching my phone (sequence in a tween book series) and finding an answer within 30 seconds. - Reception, UGH. Can't check in on yelp! - The selection of books is limited. For instance, of the Harry Potter series only 1 copy of 1 book in the series was available. Ridiculoso! - Sometimes (okay, most of the time) the characters in the library are sketch. Maybe just bad clothes day; sometimes I look sketch, too. The other library is impossible to find, especially because on my lunch break I missed it driving 20 miles an hour and went miles too far and then had to head back to work, so I will stick with this library for a while.

I've found that it's not really an ideal place to study. There were always a bunch of several unruly kids crying and yelling the few times that I tried to. I don't understand parents who let their kids act like that in such a setting. At least let your kids run around in the children's section. I remember I always got a kick out of the child sized seats there. Other than that, it's just a regular, small town library. You need to register your laptop in order to use the wi-fi, which is unfortunately pretty slow.

You need a library card to use the internet and the computers. To get a library card you need a if with your current address. So no this is not convenient. Stop advertising as a library for the public.

This is one of the worstlibraries I've ever been to! There are homeless people sleeping in and outside of the library. It's extremely loud inside because everyone is talki g or on electronic devices. I came here to get some peace and quiet and ended up just going home. I've came here twice this week and I have only seen security walk around the first day I came here after a few hours. It's unfortunate because this library is nice but they need to clean it up and hire better security.
