Dirty not worth a 1065 that's for sure it has bugs and not just regular ones cockaroachs the spa tub does not work at all and theirs no blow dryer super crappy I was told all this would be here it's a crap stay so far but at least we have the river definitely not coming back this lodge

People complained about this place but it really is not that bad (try staying at ANY Extended Stay America, ha). Rooms were fairly clean, no bed bugs, basic coffeemaker, a/c -- my only 2 qualms were 1) wi-fi pw is printed on this tiny fortune cookie sized paper we didn't even see until we had to check out the following morning. I tried entering it into my phone, but it was so slow it automatically went back to LTE so don't bank on wifi working if you have work to do. 2) no curtain of any kind over the bathroom window. Can't see squat at night so I'm not sure if anyone could see in while I'm showering; not looking to have anyone get a free show, whether it be a person, bear or squirrel.Fridge and microwave here, with a small outdoor seating area and ice machine (for filling your cooler, I wouldn't suggest ingesting the ice because it's in a chest that you have to scoop with a ghetto scooper tied with a string sitting in a dirty red bucket). Staff is nice and the place is convenient for what we needed to get done.

This place was absolutely beautiful. We had a patio door facing the lake. The room was spacious with a small kitchenette with microwave, sink & small fridge. Great seating in the kitchenette. You. Eed to pick up keys at the motel down the street, the Barewoods Inn. You can leave your keys in the room at checkout. Wonderful comfortable stay. Would come back.

I'm going to go Ahead and try to up the ante for this business. I came to experience the kern and we got here alittle late. Thankfully I read the details online on Expedia before coming thru. I had to call another hotel and tell them I was going to be in late after 9pm. They have no check in here late so they left a key out. Anyhow when my friend walked in the room we thought it is quaint and cute. Eclectic paint on canvas upon the walls. Coffee, tea, (2) waters and candies etc are here and I'm going to assume those are freebies because there are no cost sheets. Beds made nice, sheets super clean and comfortable. I flipped the mattress pad after reading the review posted below and found NO bugs! Bathroom remodeled cute and clean. My only complaint or negative observation is it would be nice to have a curtain in the bathroom in case there were to be a peeping toms outside. Anyhow, the window is small and I showered late. NowOff to the kern to enjoy my day!

Clean rooms, mattresses weren't bad we got 2 rooms both with 2 queen beds, bathrooms were clean. Room has nice views, has the essentials microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine and a bbq area you can use to have a picnic. Would definitely like to stay here again.

I was really surprised by this place. Nice clean rooms. Recently remodeled bathrooms that were very nice. Our room had a mini kitchen and a sliding door out to the lawn (which is actually reclaimed astro-turf. Even has the 20 yard line markers on it. Hilarious!). There's picnic tables and a huge covered area where you can BBQ or hang out. You can see the lake right from your front door. And even though it was hot when we arrived, our room was nice and chilled. AC works great. The only gotcha is that you have to check in down the street at the sister property, Barewood Inn. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of. I'd totally stay here again. Had a great time.

Donna was so accommodating to us arriving very late and leaving late. Beautiful view of the late and a clean and quiet lodge. Will recommend much.

I didn't experience any bugs, I was welcomed nicely close to closing. The motel was completely empty the 1st nite besides one other guest, and the rest of my stay there was only 3 other people there. Someone checked to see if I needed anything. The 1st day there even with my busy door sign on which was kind of nice. After that wasn't bothered the rest of my stay. Said hello to the handy man I believe once or twice that worked on the motel a little and he was nice, not much to say but still friendly. I wasn't expecting much after reading reviews for this place, but it's really not terrible. Two nice size beds with sheets that smelled clean, had a few stains but I know how hard it is to keep sheets spotless so I wasn't worried, the bathroom was good size and the water was hot, the only upgrades I would suggest is to get rid of the carpet and get an ac/Heater that you can set a temp and leave it to turn on an off on its own. It was so quite, and the surroundings are hills and the empty lake behind you with the keen river running into it, and that's walking distance for a nice little hike with the dogs because they also allow pets!

The bathroom has no curtains in front of the window to the outside, which is kind of creepy if you're not the kind of person who is into giving people a free show. Not sure if it's tinted so people on the outside can see in, so that was a bit perturbing. Check-in is down the street, at another off location building, which is no big deal because you arrive most likely by car anyway, but a bit inconvenient, no biggie. Staff is friendly and rooms were clean.

There was a wildfire and a power outage the night I stayed at this hotel, but the manager possibly owner was nice enough to let us in our room after midnight. We were stranded on the other side of the lake because of the wildfire. She had to get out of her bed and come and check me in. She called me before and let me know that she would have my room whenever I can get there. Then she gave me a discount on the room and lantern for the room so I could at least see. It was so hot. I ended up sleeping in my car, but that was not her fault. Fortunately, the power came back on in the middle of the night and we were able to go to our room for a cool rest before my long drive home. There are no amenities here, but the room was clean and again the manager went out of her way to help me out. I would definitely stay here again!
