Bakersfield's hidden secret. This is OG, birthplace of La Rosa ice cream- born and bred in Bakersfield CA. It is sooooo awesome. Yes, you can get them at Costco- but here, you can get a taste of unique and innovative flavors like Chile, tamarind, arroz con leche(which is so far our favorite non-conventional flavor of the day), pineapple and blueberry, and so much more! My current favorites are: arroz con leche (this is a must try- so smooth, silky, and naturally sweet- it's richer tasting than vanilla because of the complex flavors of rice and combunation of different spices), tamarind ( I am a tamarind mama, no doubt about it, and to have that balance of sour and sweet- it is perfectly on point), watermelon( cuz who can resist that refreshing flavor of watermelon?), mango, and.. ok, maybe a little bit of the Chile. You'd expect that the Chile flavor would be dimmed down because it is ice cream?Bahahaha, then joke is on you. I have never had Chile ice cream, and this was definitely one of the more interesting ice cream options I've ever tried. It's actually salty, spicy, and a bit of sweet. Added to the fact that the store owner Norma is super friendly and lovely, this is a must visit for Bakersfield if you're in the area.

I was really disappointed in the process of booking a La Rosa cart. We called two days before the event because our other option fell through. I realize it was short notice but we were reassured that it was no problem at all. Norma said she would text the flavors after hanging up and asked us to get that back to her ASAP. Well, it was never sent. We called several times the next day, trying to get a hold of her to confirm that we were able to pick up the ice cream and cart. Even though we left messages, our calls were never returned. The morning of the event, I was finally able to get a hold of her and it worked out but I was disappointed with the stress it caused to have her "disappear." I'm not sure I would use the service again because of it.

La Rosa is a gift to this community. Fresh, healthy, straight up delicious. I'm in love with a popcicle.

Support Local! Support small business! We always choose to support local small businesses in town. If you are looking for a sweet cold treat in this summer heat, La Rosa will not disappoint! Lots of flavors to choose from. All natural ingredients. And they have plenty of specials going on all the time. And the special limited items and flavors are always delish and worth to try. Pre-Covid you can flag down a La Rosa vendor pushing a cart in your neighborhood. But did you know that you can also pick up from their Niles location? Norma has always been friendly and accommodating. Always a pleasant service from her and her staff when I pick up our ice cream bars to restock our stash! You can also rent the carts for parties or events! Keeps your ice cream bars from melting & so convenient to just have the cart there and not worry about freezer space or end up forgetting to serve them when you get really busy at your party! We rented one for our daughter's Graduation Social and it was a hit! The cart kept the ice cream bars from melting all day!

Had an awesome experience with LaRosa. They let me rent a cart to keep the paletas frozen, and it did last all day!!!! Owner super nice. Def recommend for parties

Summers and La Rosa = a match made in HeavenAs a kid growing up in Oleander it was the La Rosa man that made summertime bearable. Swamp coolers did no good when the heat rose over 95, and by mid afternoon that's precisely how hot it was inside our little home. Mom always sent us to the front yard to play in the sprinklers and wait for the La Rosa man. Like clockwork, around 3pm, the La Rosa man would walk past our house. Of course you could hear him a mile away - the sound of his bells jingling along like a summertime Santa Claus. We all anxiously awaited his arrival, change in hand.For a few minutes each day there was nothing but silence in our front yard (a planned moment by my mom, I'm sure). Every neighborhood kid busily munching down their frozen treat under the cool shade tree of our gigantic weeping willow. The wild rose-winged parakeets would hang from the limbs above watching, hoping we'd share a few bites. My choice: Watermelon. Fresh watermelon juice sweetened just enough. Complete with black watermelon seeds - you knew this is a super fresh bar.Five stars reflects not only the sentimentality of La Rosa bars, but also to their excellent quality. Never have I had bad service, or bad quality. They've been fresh and delicious since I could remember. There's very little to improve upon when you're already at the top. Never change, La Rosa. Never change.

Great popsicles and ice milk bars made with fresh fruit. Cool business model, friendly service and always around when it is 120 degrees in this town...just listen for the bells
