We recently stayed at La Quinta North in Bakersfield, and overall, it was a good hotel, though there were a few frustrating moments. Some issues were that the TV in front of the bed, wouldn't turn on, yet its remote could turn off the other TV in the room--just not the one it was actually meant for. We were also unexpectedly woken up at 6 AM because the alarm clock had been pre-set, which was frustrating. Another odd design choice was that the light switches for the hallway also controlled power to the microwave, which made things a bit strange. In terms of cleanliness, while the room itself looked nice, the shower could have been cleaner. There was soap scum buildup on the shampoo bottle and one of the walls, which made me question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. Additionally, the dark color of the shower walls made it hard to tell if it was actually clean, which wasn't ideal. We also couldn't find a 'Do Not Disturb' sign in the room. The price was a bit high for the experience. Our total came to $165 after taxes and fees, plus a $50 deposit. Additionally, the snacks from the market were nearly double the price compared to what we paid at the La Quinta in Flagstaff, which was unexpected, $3.60 for a Hershey's bar and $3.60 for an ice cream sandwich. One frustrating part was the Wyndham membership process. This location didn't have my member number on file, so they told me I had to call Wyndham directly to retrieve it. However, when we stayed at La Quinta in Flagstaff, they just told me that I would need to provide my phone number to the front desk and my points will be applied. It seems like different La Quinta locations aren't very aligned when it comes to handling member accounts, which was inconvenient. That being said, La Quinta hotels are still the best, and this one had a lot of great qualities. The hotel smelled fresh and clean, and the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfy, and I slept great--at least until the alarm went off. The artwork in the room was really nice, and the bathroom itself was visually appealing despite my concerns about the shower.Overall, while there were a few small issues, it was still a good stay. With a little more consistency in cleanliness, maintenance, and member services, this could be an even better experience.

I was not able to review this place on Expedia because they kept blocking it from being posted. Awful stay, cockroaches everywhere! See photo/video. Then my kids were going to stay on the fold out and it was covered in a big urine stain. Manager was not understanding and told me it's normal. I asked him for two fold out beds and he gave them to me but I felt so bad for my kids because they were soooo uncomfortable. Also, the indoor swimming pool has zero ventilation. I will never ever stay at this place. Stay away!

The only reason this hotel is getting (1) star is because housekeeping was friendly and front desk was also very friendly other than that this location is The Worse!!!! We have never stayed in Bakersfield were there for a concert and we assumed all La Quinta Properties were amazing and they are not. We were given a room on the 3rd floor and the room was very empty like there was furniture missing. The door wasn't secure the bed was in a big metal bed frame that if you accidentally hit it would sound like a big bang. The sheets were stained there was odd lamps everywhere and nowhere to place your clothes. There was a second door that connects to another room which we had to barricade because someone was knocking. There was a lot of black bugs that have claw like hands on them super creepy. The bathroom door was broken and it was glued together the shower was dirty it wasn't good. There's tenets that live in these rooms and they go around looking into your rooms if your door is open they stand outside your room hoping you go somewhere we looked out our door and see them standing there. There's cars with loud music, people yelling, babies crying and a lot of other chaos including dealing. We went to pool and it was ridiculously dirty water was beyond cloudy and you could tell there was something wrong. We were there for about 10 min too long and we seen different young kids going in and out of one room to pick up and go. There's too much going on so we left. In check out day we closed the door and there was a female standing outside our room we got into the car and she was trying to open the door and looking in through the window. I honked my horn and she started running to a room down the way. This property isn't safe there is no security we were so uncomfortable and unfortunately we had to stay there because of an event. Never again will we go back unless I have a death wish this place SUCKS!!!!!

The lady at the front desk was super sweet and helpful and friendly. That was the only good thing. The room was small and the bed was so uncomfortable you could feel the springs. The beds were so small. I thought we were getting 2 queens but it was 2 small fulls looked more like twin. Very uncomfortable. We had to bring our mother in law to the airport at 3am so we needed rest but kids were allowed to scream at the pool late at night it was almost 11pm and they were still screaming. Finally when the pool closed and the kids went to bed but then the person next door had their TV blasting all night and morning shaking my walls. It was 3am and I didn't get any sleep. After we dropped her off at the airport we thought we could finally get some sleep. Soon enough I hear kids screaming again I tried to block it out and go back to sleep. I wanted to sleep til 10:30 because check out was at 11am. I finally fell asleep and then we get a phone call at 9am from the front desk asking If we extended our stay like wtf no we got the room for one night!! it was 9am and check out isn't til 11am. You're going to wake me up to ask a stupid question?! So after they woke me up at 9am to ask a stupid question I couldn't go back to sleep and lost another hour and a half and had a 2 hour drive home ahead. Unbelievable. The only good thing was the nice lady at reception and all the over priced snacks otherwise I'd give 1 star. Our tub was also covered in rust I thought it was feces at first glance. And when you turn the water on it makes a loud noise for so long while the water goes through the pipes.

My stay would have been a lot better if the hot tub hadn't been out of service which is the very reason I chose this place. I also found a roach in bathroom. The vacuuming could be heard very loudly from upstairs. I've never experienced such bad acoustics at a hotel before.I paid $30 for a later check out at 1pm. I was gathering my things about to head out the door, a little later than 1pm (1:20) when the woman from front desk started rudely knocking and reminding us that it was past check out time. She was waiting for us outside the door and was immediately abrasive with "It's past 1:00". I was immediately uncomfortable and upset. I've been late for check out before (without paying for late checkout) and had never been treated this way. She was so sour in saying "I will be charging you extra." I said was going to ask for a discount because of the hot tub. She said that they don't give discounts. I repeatedly said she's not charging me and that I want to see the manager. There's not even a manager on duty! She said I'd have to contact him by email. I was really upset and did raise my voice and she just antagonized me by saying if I keep raising my voice there will be an issue. There was no reason for her to start with us and be so rude.

This was by far the best la quinta ive ever stayed at. I don't usually get too excited about hotel stays but this one was above and beyond. The amenities, the staff, dogs allowed and a pool is everything you need for an amazing stay. Alex at the front desk is awesome and the manager there is and should be proud of rhe culture theyve created. My only wish for all La Quintas is for there to be a way to tip the staff via card or payment processing platform like venmo but that's not a reflection on this La Quinta but rather the whole organization. I'll definitely stay here again on my way down for NorCal to SoCal. They treat the dogs there like they do the humans and I'm here for it.

Stay away from this hotel. The female evening/night attendant was rude, hostel, and didn't realize my wife, and I meant no disrespect on taking the recyclbles out of the outside trash can. I looked up their corporate handbook, and I am sure management trains their staff according to company policy. According to their Human Rights Policy Statement Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. acknowledges, respects, and, through its Business Principles, commits to operating its business in a manner consistent with the principles contained in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business andHuman Rights and the International Labor Organization's Fundamental Conventions. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc.'sview on human rights reflects the company's commitment to conduct its business in a manner consistent with these principles and to protect human rights within the company's sphere of influence. In addition, the company's core valuesenumerated below work to further develop its culture as one committed to ethical business practices and good corporate citizenship.Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. Core Values:Integrity: We hold ourselves to the highest standards. We're responsible, truthful, and transparent. We do the right thing.Accountability: We honor our commitments and deliver results. Caring We never underestimate the power of compassion. We generously give our time, attention, and action.Fun: Fun is an energizing force. In addition, parties contracting with the Company, such as franchisees and vendors, are also required to opperate in a manner which is compliant with all applicable laws and subject to certain operating standards, and where necessary, the Company will take actions to terminate relationships with parties who fail to comply with those standards. As a veteran who served his country in two tours and 12 years in the Army, I was appalled by her conduct. Me and my wife were casually cutting through the parking lot after eating a meal at Dennys and she noticed recyclbles filled up and she wanted to take them since they were in the trash, she did make a slight mess by accident, which I did tell my wife to square it away and make it right. But the attendant approached us in an unprofessional manner, yelling at us stating what's going on out here, I replied wevwere just grabbing recycables because your trash can was pretty full, But she was rude to my wife yelling that she made a mess and my wife apoligized so thats when i told her to go clean it up but the female attendant kept yelling at my wife stating you come over to our hotel and steal our Trash Bags which were already full of cans and bottles. After my wife was embarrassed, I politly apologized and stated, "Please dont talk to my wife like that she will clean up the mess," then she turned to me, yelling, "im not talking to you". As a current Human Resources Consultant with 5 years in the industry, that's normally not the best way to handle conflict resolution. Managers and above would get this type of training along with sensitivity in the workplace. When she asked what are you doing here, at this time, I had already got triggered and agitated, I stated I am a Combat Veteran and I fought for the freedom to take a nice early morning walk with my wife. What i didnt say was that prior to booking the hotel that we have currently in for 2 months now. A guest was at the ampm frustrated and was complaining about the La Quinta being very dirty and problems with stuffy rooms, unplesant oders, and roaches. So we went down a coulple of hotels, was really thinking about staying here in december but the other hotel had a bettee rate, very clean and the staff was awesome in the way they treat their guest, especially an Army Veteran. I hope Coorperate reads this and handles the situation promptly and

I love La Quinta Inns, as we are road warriors and often travel with dogs. La Quinta Inns are usually very dog friendly. But, this one has some room for improvement if they want guests to return. The good: everything worked, including AC and TV, nothing was broken or non operational. The area is a little noisy due to proximity to the highway but feels safe enough. There is a lot of green space around the hotel to walk your dogs. I even go up the street a bit, and there is plenty of grass. When traveling with pets, it's difficult when the potty area is small and dirty. It's not a problem here. The bad: I removed one star for the smell upon entering our room. There was a VERY strong fragrance that made me nauseous and hurt my head, like someone used a carpet freshener to perhaps deal with a prior bad pet guest. Also, I spilled some water and grabbed a hand towel to dry it, and it came up black. So I think the carpets need a thorough steam clean, that was pretty gross. Finally and most importantly, the bed is REALLY outdated, and we both woke up with a lot of back pain. The mattresses desperately need an upgrade. We were only here one night, but restless sleep from 4am - 7am because of back pain due to a mattress that feels cheap and old can ruin your day. Overall, this La Quinta is otherwise in line with the standards we've come to expect from this brand. But we probably won't be back to this one unless these issues are addressed.

Had a long drive from Indio and was very tired. I decided to make a quick book to La Quinta North because the location and price were unbeatable. Veronica was a huge help, very quick and fast process, which I didn't expect. She was friendly and helpful; Great customer service makes people want to come back and I'll surely be back. Might've done two posts, I don't really make reviews but it was worth.
