La Nueva Fonda Mexican Food Products

As we enter tamale making time, I went in to check prices for masa. Pleasantly surprised on the price per lb. Great price and quality. While I was there I purchased some menudo to go. I was not disappointed. Lots of flavor and homemade corn tortillas. I'll be back soon as I live down the street.

It used to be my favorite place to have Mexican food. Most recently I saw that people were walking out on their orders due to the lack of service. Not sure if it's the servers or the kitchen staff. They were just very slow in getting out orders. The house was not very busy. Less than a dozen customers seated. Not sure if I will want to frequent this restaurant again. May have to find another eatery that their service is faster.

The menudo is one of the best in town, but expect a line because it's that good. Highly recommend.

Wish I had come here before. Been searching Porterville for a place that has good tamales. All other tries have been disappointing. This place has the real thing. Ordered their chicken tamales. The meat is moist, well cooked and abundantly distributed in the tamale. This is not the case at other establishments here and outside Porterville. Even in places I have visited in LA. Let's talk more...the masa is fresh, moist and flavorful. And don't forget the red salsa. I like the heat, the color, the roasted pepper ingredients, the correct consistency and the robust taste it imparts when it is bathed over the tamale. And let's not forget the rice. Simple but so flavorful. I am a devotee of refried beans. La Fonda has the best in Porterville. Great consistency that contains beans too. And ten service. Wow. Everyone is so friendly, accommodating and willing to help. I have been to numerous Mexican eateries. This is a gem. Thank you La Nueva Fonda. I will be coming back over and over again.

This place has been the most authentic, delicious Mexican food I've had in a while. Super cute little spot but big flavor! My boyfriend had a torta de asada and a pork tamale, I had the barbacoa de res and a chicken tamale and all of it was so delicious! We will definitely be going back soon! I left full, happy, & satisfied.

Barbacoa, Menudo & Tamales are very good ... also they have great cuts of desmillo. All around great place.

No love in the cooking they used to have good tamales nok t no more...Onde esta el amor de la comida...Ates tenien buenos tamales...Ya No!!

La Nueva Fonda has delicious Mexican food. I have been going to them for years and they have really good tamales. Every time I went the tamales are always so flavorful. You can take them to go as well and they wrap it in foil so it stays warm longer. I would have to say my favorite is the pork tamales they serve. I would definitely recommend and will be going back soon!

Authentic mexican tamales I totally recommend it, I'm straight mexican and this tamales are really good made me feel like I was home you can also find cheetos de bolitas that are my fave

No one in this town can compare to La Fonda when it comes to their tamales. Their masa is the only one we've used for over 40+ years.
