It's a small restaurant so it can get crammed really easily. I would say the prices are so pretty expensive, we got two cups of menudo and it was $30!!! However I will say the menudo did hit the spot. It had such a nice flavor and We also got barbacuá and It was also $30, once again it was good. The meat was juicy and had so much flavor, they provide salasa for it as well. The one thing we will complain about was the tamalas they were too dry and just decent. The kids ate them and enjoyed it though, so it might be a safe options for kids. The chicharrón was crispy and not oily at all! We loved it, and it didn't taste like oil.

If you want authentic this is the place to go.The customer service is friendly. The food is wonderfully spiced.I've never tasted anything from there that I didn't like. What I most appreciate about this restaurant is that they serve food your mom or abuelita makes. And of course they have the jarrito so does that go good with everything. The food is excellent and the prices just right.Another great thing about them is you can choose a combination of meats to put into your burritos. This is a definite gem of a "homemade' restaurant.I definitely recommend this restaurant

Me and my fiancé come here all the time. They make us a custom burrito every time we come. They do t sell it on the menu but they charge us accordingly and they get it right every time. They're so nice here too, I feel like I'm eating at my family's house, it's so nice to come sit and eat. This be one of them spots that someone usually has to take you too, unless you read a review like this and you know it's finna be good. Oh and the burrito they make us is a chile relleno burrito, it's so good and it's worth the price.

La Cocina Del Pueblo is the real deal when it comes to old school traditional Mexican cooking. Horacio Casillas the owner and cook is as rooted to Wasco is as his skills in traditional Mexican cooking. I remember when I was a teenager and he used to cook the Chicharron, carnitas and fried pork belly for Zamora Market back in the 1990's. He also cooked and prepared food the El Pueblo market. Best way to describe this restaurant is as we Mexicans say, "de todo se hace." Chicharron, pork belly, tamales, sangre de cerdo (my favorite and hard to find) menudo, burritos, tacos and tortas are some of the items on his menu. Only on weekends he sells sangre de cerdo and menudo. I come all the way from Redlands, CA just to have his Sangre de puerco. My dad from Delano also does me the favor of getting and saving me some on the weekends. They are very busy on the weekends and it is because of this same reason. Good food is not just made, it is rooted to the towns they are prepared in. This is hands down the best place in Wasco to get good traditional Mexican style type cooking.

From the moment we entered Adrienna made us feel welcomed. IAsked for a couple of recommendations! There were several dishes that were prepared and displayed behind the glass case. She offered a taste of the two sauces for pork dishes. My picky husband loved both of them but as it turned out I ordered the most amazing Chile Relleno and el pastor tacos for my husband. The tortillas are all done in-house and they were delicious. It didn't take us long to also pick up Chile verde and beef with nopalitos and a couple of tamales for dinner. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the kitchen as well as the tiny dinning area. This restaurant put Wasco on the map for stopping on the way to Los Angeles.

Delicious homemade made tortillas corn and flour, the staff can be a bit rude(all except two wonderful and lovely young ladies, And the owner. I believe the two waitresses that were so nice!! were sisters one had red hair, idr her name but she was angel, and her sister as well. They're blessings) but aside from that it's an awesome experience and even better food. I highly recommend if you're craving feel good authentic Mexican cuisine!!
