La Cima Mexican Food & Cantina

Given that it's one of the few dining options in Taft, it might be passable, but my overall experience was underwhelming. The service felt lackluster, the chips were stale, and the food was just okay. The horchata had a powdery, store-bought taste, which was disappointing. On a brighter note, the enchiladas were decent, but they weren't enough to elevate the meal.

Choices are a bit limited in Taft so I'm always keeping my eyes open when I'm visiting family there. Saw this place opened a while back and decided to give it a try. Having eaten here 3 times now I can say with confidence it's the best Mexican place in Taft. Each time I've eaten here the food has come out quickly and has been hot and delicious. The chile verde enchiladas are really good, the chimi platter is delicious and the chips and salsa are always nice and fresh. It's nice to see a great new spot in Taft and I highly recommend trying it out if you haven't already.

Drove from Bakersfield to eat here and it won't be the last time! We will definitely be back soon! The food was great ... our server was even better. She was attentive and prompt to meet our needs. So good!

Food was hot and amazing! Serves was fantastic, and our drink cup was never empty which is big for my husband. Can wait to try something new next time!!

Stopped here for lunch after a visit to a local power plant and was blown away! I ordered a shredded chicken burrito with ranchera sauce and extra cheese & rice and beans. To start the chips were perfectly crispy and salsa was a perfect level of spicy with really good flavor. I thought the burrito would be a standard rice and bean rip off but it was full of well seasoned meat, a little rice and beans, and sautéed peppers with plenty of cheese. Amazing! The beans were flavored very well and cheese on top was melted to a nice (not burnt) crisp. Rice was well seasoned too. My coworkers had steak fajitas and enchiladas and everyone was very happy with the food. We ate more than we wanted but couldn't stop!I rarely get to Taft but would make a trip in purpose just to go back here! I highly recommend it!

Service was great. We had the trio fajita. The flavors were amazing. My college student recommended it as one of her favorites.

This evening, me and my friend decided to eat out at this restaurant. I left disappointed seeing as he overcharged me for something I didn't get. My bank notified me I was charged $19.47, mind you I had only got a $15.99 plate. I called and asked to speak to a manager, the server that refused our service named Yolanda answered the phone. She replied with "yeah" and I hear laughing in the background as she mentioned " it was those girls that were in here earlier." The manager responded with my complaint you can come back and pick up your $3.50, " I told him have a goodnight. "California Civil Code Section 114376" states It's definitely illegal to charge for tap water in California. This was unprofessional and unacceptable behavior especially if you're running a business that way. Bad servers, and poor management of the place, wouldn't recommend here if you want to get overcharged. Unbelievable.
