Hadn't been here in a while so thought we would give it another try. Everything about this place is just meh. The food, the atmosphere, the service. The place is not cool in the summer and the food is rather small portion for the price. Personally, I think you can get better Mexican food elsewhere in town for a lower cost. Don't think we will be back.

DISCLAIMER: if you have a party of 8 or more an 18% gratuity will be added to your bill for you. I went with a party of 12, and they said they could only split the bill in 3... so with those 3 checks and the MANDATORY 18% gratuity they ended up leaving themselves a little more than a 50$ tip!!!! (: We were celebrating a graduation and were looking for Mexican food in town. It's pretty inside but the food was FAR from authentic. Vallartas Mexican food is a lot better in comparison which is sad considering Vallarta is not even the best. For the prices of the dishes you'd expect a lot more. We would've had a much better experience at a taco la villa...We did our best to enjoy the experience but here are some of the commentaries: They had chips and salsa at the tables before taking our orders but the salsa was not spicy and not really like your typical Mexican salsa, it was flavorless to say the least. Two of the people in the party tried chile verde and chilaquiles which they say had no flavor and absolutely no spice. I myself asked for "El Dorado Tilapia" but it was not at all a fried fish... it was a bread crumbed fish with no flavor, they also had a bread crumbed fish on the menu so when I saw el dorado I really expected the fish to come fried, it reminded me of the frozen ready to cook tilapias you buy in store, I had to add lemon to it to make it semi good. The person who ordered the carne asada also said it tasted extremely plain, and it came with no salsa, just a single jalapeño. The beans and tortillas were so plain and not really what you'd expect when eating at a Mexican restaurant.. the only good dish for the entire table seemed to be the quesadilla. The waitresses pretty much took our orders and barely visited the table. At the table there was no salsas or condiments only salt and pepper. I ordered the churro ice cream which was pretty small for a shareable dish, and I had to remind the waitress to bring it out. The other person at the table who ordered ice cream had to go to front desk to ask for it because they forgot about it. When we got the checks we were not expecting the tips to be added for us, the waitresses failed to let us know about the mandatory gratuity BEFORE we ordered. Everyone at the table agreed this place is not worth our money or time, definitely not returning here again and don't recommend this place for anyone hoping for real Mexican food.

I am very sick and my husband went to get me chicken soup. I was scared it would be old but let me tell you it was fresh and did not disappoint. I am very pleased as my expectations were low but they set the bar high. Thank you Cabana for fresh food!

I come for the chili verde ribs with rice, beans and tortillas. Flour tortillas. The tortillas are small and you will receive two with your plate They really changed the size of them. Next time I will have to order 2 sides of tortillas. One to enjoy then and another because I like to make burritos to go with the food I can't finish on my plate.

Another day of running around- skipping lunch - from 11am until 4pm. We were hongree! La Cabaña Restaurant was on the way home. What a delightful surprise to learn we were just in time for Happy Hour! We ordered 2 House margaritas to start, then checked out the menu. We landed on the La Cabaña Burrito Ahogado. ($14.99). A burrito filled with unique red Chile verde, rice & beans inside and topped with zesty red sauce. There was sour cream on the side. Along with the chips and salsa, the serving size would definitely fill us both up. Our server, Eduardo, was friendly, pleasant and efficient. The food came quickly. They brought a extra plate to split the dish. Throughout the meal, Eduardo was there if we needed him. I would have liked the zesty sauce to be a little "zestier". You can probably ask for this. They are very accommodating. The meat was tender and lean and very flavorful. To sum it up, La Cabaña offers good, food, awesome service, and nice value in a comfortable atmosphere. You can go wrong.

First time trying this restaurant and it was ok. The customer service was great. The wait time wasn't long to be seated. Plenty of seating including patio seating. The ambiance was also nice and family oriented. The food looked good but was a bit bland. Lacking flavor and seasoning in my opinion. I Had to use the salsa to spice up my meal to get the taste I was looking for. Other than that this place was ok.

The service here is pretty consistent and great. The vibe is relaxing and we always enjoy our nights out at this spot. The chips and salsa always hit as well as their drinks. The albondigas were yummy and the asada fries were bomb. The chimichanga was my partners and of course I snagged a bite. It was good (shredded chicken). We love coming here when we can't decide on what to eat

The service was good and ambiance was nice. The food was bland. I had the enchiladas suizas. No flavor, spices, so were the beans and chips.
