Kona Ice of Central Bakersfield

Kona Ice was at an event we attended. Cool looking vehicle they have, and even cooler shave ice that they serve. My wife and I each had different flavors. Both tropical flavor combinations tasted pretty darn good. Very satisfying and refreshing treats on the hot day of that event.

So incredibly disappointed in this company after reading posts on Facebook about them coming to your house I text them yesterday and set up for them to come out to our house at 6:30. Sat out front waiting with 4 kids for an hour and a half, it was cold and the kids were anxious for them to never show. Yeah, you read the right, NEVER SHOWED. I called TWICE and text. Nothing. Times are hard right now for everyone, particularly quarantined kids so to say they were sad in an understatement. Still over 24 hours later nothing. Something came up? Communicate that. Don't just be a complete jerk.... EDIT: After realizing the mistake that had been made they were very eager to make it up to the kids and they did. They came back out and served our family of 7 (on the house even) and made their day. Delicious snocones even on a rainy day!

Getting a hold of any one with kona ice is practically impossible! I tried calling, tried email, finally got to their voice mail, for it to tell me to text it!So I text them and asked if they could schedule our street in for an appointment. They won't tell you whats available. They just ask what time you want.... but then , when you do they are not available or won't book those times... finally I just took a 12 o'clock appointment as thats the best they could offer. I tried to text back confirmation of appointment....and that took 2 hours to respond....ok...I tried to help make it worth their while and shared that they were stopping with all my daycare parents (whom I scheduled it for) and shared it on Next door ap. As well... i knew many people who were planning to show up. So I made a big thing of this event. I set up water play for my kiddos, had cones for social distancing....Kona showed up at 1130, even after confirming a TWELVE O'CLOCK APPOINTMENT. OK, so they were early...no big deal, we were already prepared. As soon as we finished our order, they left....they didnt even hesitate just gone.... ive had 30+ people from my neighborhood show up and I had to explain that they came early and left fast! They didn't even stick around till their scheduled time!Very disappointing.... they need to really consider communicating plans better with clients, it would have been better to call so we can TALK AND DISCUSS THE SITUATION.... so we know what to expect. As far as the snow cones go, they were only mediocre....

Absolutely love this shave ice truck! The owner is super cool, friendly and informative. We stopped by after practice and my kids had a ball deciding what flavors they were gonna get. What a cool idea to put the flavors on the outside of the truck. Why does it always seem there isn't enough flavor when you get shave ice?? Not here! . You can hire them for birthday parties and events. Will definitely be visiting again and would love to have them at my kids parties!

EXTREMELY disappointed in Kona Ice of Central Bakersfield (sorry Kentucky, the Bakersfield one does not have a check-in). I booked an appointment for them to bring their truck to my home today at 5:15pm. I contacted them at 5:45 and was told that the truck had contacted them and had a 45 minute to 1 hour delay. Its now 7:45pm, and the truck STILL has yet to show up. I attempted to contact them at 7:15, and have yet to receive another response. It's pretty sad that the surprise you planned for your daughter falls through due to bad customer service.

We love having Kona Ice out to our church youth group! They deliver delicious shaved ice and great customer service. The cost was affordable and worth it on a 100 degree evening. We've had them out 3 times and will continue to go with them. Ask about the group packages as well!

Ice is too hard. Flavors are too watered down. Customer service good. Location: truck - sams club parking lot on gosford.

We hired them for a company event so we had paid for a party package ahead of time. The girl serving was pretty rude, and then told me she would be leaving early. We only had the truck for an hour and fifteen minutes, and had paid for 100 sno cones ahead of time, which we did not even come close to using. I would not hire them for an event again.

Was looking for ice cone companies for a upcoming event. But thought I would leave a review about the time I hired Kona last year the person who came was so rude! I asked "them" if they had a problem the person reassured me they didn't. I get it, middle of July it's hot but I paid for this rude person to serve ice cones. Heads up as seen on other reviews "they" are known for their rude employees. I would just go with another ice cone company to avoid any issues.

Picture this; my twin cousins have there 14th birthday party (covid style) and all they were looking forward to was the Kona shaved ice. Not only did they bail, but did so 30 minutes before the drive by party began. The lack of respect and courtesy blows my mind. I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this to any family, no kid should have to feel that heartbreak in their birthday!!
