The camp ground itself was pretty nice.
Be prepared to get screwed over by these people they're crooks, and this is what our campground looked like when they canceled our spots

Club Royal Oaks rules are a joke. Do what you want in this place, there's no consequence.

They charge high prices, & don't upkeep the grounds. $85 a night & they make you take your trash to this disgusting spot.

This was a perfect camping trip for our family. We had a "river front" spot and though the riverbed is dry with no water, we still had an amazing time. The spaces are huge and allowed for the kids to ride bikes and explore. The new pool is open and very nice. The bathrooms were well kept and nice for me to take the kids to shower in a bigger place other than our trailer. The staff is very friendly and the park was extremely quiet. It doesn't sound like they have water in the river for very many weeks out of the year so thats unfortunate. We didn't need a river to have a good time though. We used the fire pit each night and enjoyed all the large trees with ample shade. We also happened to be here during the Kingsburg Swedish festival which is a 10 min drive to town. Kingsburg is such a cute little town worth checking out too.

This campground started charging for electric usage in the last year. When I made a reservation for my husband and I for 2 Nites I was emailed a contract to sign. It said "excess usage" would be charged. We did not use A/C, heat or any large appliance which would draw electric.I blow dried my hair once. We were there 40 hours and we were gone from our site for 8 of those hours. They read our meter and said that we used 46 kWh and they charged 39 cents per hour for a total of$17.94!!!When I asked what they considered "excess usage" as stated in the contract, Ashley said-I don't know. I just send out the papers. At almost $9 A day that would make a monthly total of $270. At our home in Fallbrook, CA we average $150 a month for 3600 sq ft.This is a giant rip off and I will definitely protest this when we get home.

This campground is an awesome and beautiful location with terrible management. I have camped in hundreds of campgrounds across the USA, and this is the most expensive campground. It's $85 a night in summer, and that only includes 2 people. Add a few kids ($5 each/day), dogs ($5 each/day) and extra adults ($15 each per day), you can easily pay over $125 per night to camp in sites with patchy grass full of stickers. Bathrooms are dirty, lots of spiders, and you have to take your own trash to the dump which is overflowing and crawling with bugs. In summer, when everyone is cranking their AC, the voltage can be weak and it can damage your RV.I've been coming here for 40 years and it makes me so sad to see how the management is charging insane prices and the place is falling apart. If you don't already love Kings River, go find another campground. They make you check in between 3-6pm and charge extra if you come in early. The only reasonably priced thing is the ice, which is $5 a bag. Skip this campground. It's not like the old days.

I'd put zero stars if I could We moved a few times due to flooding Then at our last spot it turned into a sh*t storm on our first day literally. Sewer overflowed covering our hoses and power cable. After numerous attempts to reach them. I emailed them so I would have a record of the problem and bam less than a hour later I get a call. They send out their worthless maintenance guy and I mean WORTHLESS!!!! He comes by says it not overflowing now and leaves. 5 minutes later I leave to get supplies from town and notice it overflowing again. I pass him on way out and tell him he just shrugs his shoulders and keeps walking. I call the park and request to speak to owner. All I get is his messenger. Anyways to make a long story short Our new patio rug is ruined covered in SH*T!! All hoses are covered also. Felt like we were living in a sewer plant! Smelled horrible.I called front office wanting to be reimbursed for my rug and hoses. They said it was our fault and they're not liable. Now that crossed the line. Anyways I'm gonna take action and wish them luck. We got the hell out of there We found a new place (Riverland) down the road way better spot with really nice office people and clean facilities. To sum it up Don't stay there!!It's a Sh*t hole literally!!

Overflowing Sewage We are staying in our trailer while our home is being built, we chose Royal Oak because it is in close proximity to our new home. We got flooded out of our first spot here and had to move to a different spot. A hour after hooking up at our new spot the sewage started over flowing, we reported this to the office staff. She said they could not do anything about it till Wednesday when maintenance got there. So we waited two days. When maintaince finally arrived they could not do anything because it was not overflowing at that very moment. 30 minutes later sewage began overflowing again we immediately told the maintenance man, he literally shrugged his shoulders and did nothing! This is on Wednesday. Sunday came around and a new RV arrived beside us. As soon as they hooked up their sewage hoses, our sewage began boiling over. The smell was sickening, it was the worst it had been since the first occurrence. I called the after hours gal. She said she would email the office and they'd take care of it in the morning. Morning came and no phone call, my fiancée emails the office and soon after gets a response. They have finally called the owner and got him to approve having a plumber come out the next day. (This was over about a week and a half span of overflowing sewage.)We asked for reimbursement for our hoses and rug that got sewage on them and after sending pictures to the office of what happened they would not reimburse us. They said we had no proof of any of this happening. The office gal also told us that this hasn't happened before, when on the contrary the late night gal (who lives on the premises) said the same thing occurred a few months back. We even asked to speak to the owner (not an unreasonable request) and was turned down. Overflowing Sewage is a major health hazard, it should be handled immediately. To take it so lightly is appalling. I do not recommend staying here. Food for thought when deciding where to stay.

Great location and great customer service. My wife and I had a directions mishap and they sent someone out to help us get our trailer back on track.

I was checking out this campground to stay with my husband and son, leaving our dogs at home with the dog sitter. I stumbled upon the restrictions of dogs: Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers and Chows. Lost my business, and my dogs aren't even attending the trip. Lost a customer...

We have been camping there as a large group of 30 plus sites for a couple of years in the fall, when they are emply. However, with the new owners and so called doing it the way it was supposed to be done, it just doesn't work for our group any longer. Now that they want the sites paid for in full when booking, and now seeing others having a hard time trying to get refunds, well it doesn't settle well. I hope the new owners don't mind the 4k loss for that weekend. It's too bad, as the girls loved the place. Movin on down the road.
