Kern Travel

I have been working with shay at kern travel now for 3 river cruises in Europe over three years time. She works directly with the cruise directors so i feel we get a bit of special treatment when planning our excursions. I find shay easy to work with. we like to plan most of it ourselves--activities/hotels/restaurants etc--but whenever i need a few tips shay helps out--isn't overbearing but also very helpful. we will be working with her again in the near future!!!

I'm the kind of person who prefers to plan my trips alone and to the very last detail. I like to make itineraries and know exactly where I will be 3 weeks before I even leave.But when my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to take a trip to Costa Rica right at the busiest time of year for me at work I quickly had to make a choice 1. go without a real plan and hope for the best 2. give the power to someone else. I chose option 2 cause my organizers anxiety wouldn't allow me to arrive in a new country and fly by the seat of my pants!!I emailed Kelly the small plan we had already created and asked her for suggestions.One of my favorite things about Kelly's planning is that she took liberties on our want for adventure. She made suggestions for excursions but didn't take us too far from the hotel so we could also relax a little. I feel like we got a great price with Kern Travel and everything was organized and laid out exactly like I need.I can't wait to go on another trip and let Kelly handle the whole thing!

I started planning my trip 2 years ago. I added 2 more travelers to surprise my mom. I work closely with Shay. She is amazing. Never a doubt that she can't get it taken care of. If you're planning a trip Kern Travel are the ones to do it So we took our trip. It was amazing. No troubles everything I expected. Of course, Shay was on top of it. It was somewhat pricey but everything was taken care of. I would recommend Kern Travel when you're planning a vacation.

We visited Monday, February 4th and never felt so unwelcome in our lives. This older lady said we were interrupting her lunch and they work by appointment only, "but come on back". I told her their website said Saturday's were appt. only. She said that wasn't right either. Upon telling her we wanted to go to Alaska and needed plane tickets, rental car and hotel, she gave us all the reasons NOT to use them. I finally asked WHY people would use an agency??? What benefit is it? "Well we book people who are traveling out of the country and want to make sure they can sit together. And we take care of their bags, if they want a carry on" blah blah blah. She gave inaccurate information about airlines-yes, lady, I DO travel and know the guidelines! I sure don't get why anyone would use this agency, or at least this RUDE woman! Oh, and don't wear blue jeans and a sweatshirt if you go in.

Not very friendly or helpful when asked to make a Saturday appointment, which apparently they don't offer any longer...even though they advertise it on their website.
