Kern River Tavern

What an interesting place full of local characters. Kind of reminds me of Northern Lights. Unfortunately we got there too late for their monthly blues jam. Shank, there is a story there, was our friendly bartender bartender this evening. It's a great place to absorb local culture and meeting unique personalities. Drinks are reasonably priced.There is a pool table for your entertainment and of course a contemporary juke box for your listening pleasure, when they don't have live music. Go grab a drink and mix with the locals you'll definitely have an experience and a good time.

We came out for Kernville Kampout and passed Kern River Tavern a few times. It's only about a year old but definitely has the neighborhood charm of a decades-long watering hole. We were lucky to make it for Bingo (Sundays at 4pm)! $1 per game, per card. We got smoked by the local crowd ‍. The bartender LaLa was so friendly and gave us tons of great recommendations on drinks (whiskey sour vs old fashioned), sights to see nearby (nature-made water slide) and restaurants (McNally's for steak) to eat at. I enjoyed my whiskey sour and my boyfriend liked his beer! Saw some Harley memorabilia on the walls Had a great time. Note: no food, just a few chip bags or Chex mix available.

We love this bar! LaLa is AMAZING!She pours the best drinks and is so personable. We don't consider ourselves to be on vacation until we go see her! Seriously stop on in!

Fun Blues/ Rock jam open to anyone on the 4th Saturday of each month. Any body can get up and sing, play, or just kick back and listen with a cold one. I got to do all those. Friendly folks the three times I've been.
