It was my first time visiting this location and my experience was smooth and fast! If you want to turn in paperwork, there is a separate line to get inside to scan your documents. It makes the process so much faster without having to wait in the overwhelming line that's formed outside. The building can easily be found and parking was not a hassle.

The workers are top notch. They helped me fill out forms that were difficult. Expect a long wait without an appointment.

It seems rather pointless to even do a review on a government facility. Their employees follow protocol (or not) and have little interest in the affairs of the clients. The are receiving barely above minimum wage themselves and do not care what happens to others. The facility on Union avenue smells like a toilet. They have cleaners that go in nightly although, I do not know how well they do their job. It smells like a fart and looks like hep C. People go in with their papers all wadded up and nasty and expect the workers there to handle their nasty papers that have been handled by dirty hands that have probably handled needles and changed poopy diapers. (If they even change their children's diapers) and greasy food, and whatever else. I always try and make sure that my papers are neat, clean and stapled and have post it notes. I put them in a clean envelope and drop them in the lobby box. It is faster than trying to see someone at the facility. They will appreciate your efforts. Be careful dropping them in the outside box. I am not sure if they get them right away. I am still waiting at this time. Some of the people there act very dangerous (the clients) A guy bashed the door and kicked it with his foot and shattered the entire door. He almost knocked a lady down going outside screaming and cussing. Two girls slammed on my window and called me a racist name and I was terrified to get out of the car. It really is not safe there at this time. You are better just trying to drop off your papers in the outside box or inside lobby and quickly be on your way. A woman asked to borrow my phone. When I told her the battery was dead, I thought I would be dead the way she looked at me.It is best to go in looking very basic, not having your phone out and do not carry a purse with you. Just your keys. Lock your purse in your trunk and just carry your i.d. and keys. Be very low profile, clean and efficient. Be polite. Use drop boxes and they will call you within a day or so. I received my benefits but am unsure if they received my most recent paperwork. Well wishes to anyone who needs their services.

If I could give it 0 I would.... Customer service is none existent. If I have to provide you with my name and info.... why can't you .They answer the phones with little to none enthusiasm and pretend not to hear you like you're the one speaking another language. When you ask for their superior they ask you why like they are scared of being reported....These people hate their jobs and it really shows. I feel for anyone who has to deal with these people.

Well I can say numerous things about this place, but first thing is first the workers should be more considerate about people with disablities, My dad has dementia and the worker who assisted us was so rude and I feel that if you do not like your career or job then why be some where you hate. You can tell she hated what she was doing. You smile and greet people with a Good morning how may I assist you type of thing. But this was not the case. I am keeping her name out of this because I do have RESPECT unlike others. The point is, I have custody of my farther because he can not make reasonable decesions for himself, so I was answering the question she was asking , then when I was about to respond she said, "I am asking him not you," that's when I showed her my proof that I can speak on my dad's behalf because he is not menatlly stable to answer day to day questions. I was his representivie and she was flat out rude. If I have to be mistreated because my farther is asking for medical then I rather pay for all his medications because no person should ever be treated like this . No person should be made feel less .

They don't even deserve 1 star and here's why:1. Phone system to contact someone is as worthless as trying to talk to someone at DMV very confusing and a waste of time!!2. Phone interviews are a waste of time because every year I speak to a different worker and I am told different information at each interview. I didn't work the 30 days prior to my phone interview so therefore there is no proof of income because I received $0. So I wrote that on a note and sent that to them because the lady on the phone told me that is what to do if I didn't get a paycheck. So on Monday they sent me a letter stating that my Cal Fresh benefits would expire on October 31st because I didn't provide proof of income! There is NO proof because I didn't receive any $.Ridiculous!!!3. The new CalBenefits website is way worse than C4yourself.com. Whenever you go through the information to create an account they want you to enter the 6 digit code that they send to your email address and every single time I try to enter it all it says is INVALID every single time so I am not even able to create an online account!4. The old C4yourself.com website was horrible also because I would try to enter my 16 digit number from my EBT card and every time it would also say INVALID!5. The lady I talked to at my last phone interview I didn't one bit care for her condescending attitude when we were talking on the phone. She needed to be way more patient, respectful and professional. Also she tried to tell me that they never received my recertification info. which is BS because I specifically drove 6 miles down to the Post Office to mail it to make sure they would receive it in a timely manner!

Will never return your phone calls. Voicemail is full. Case workers will not return your phone calls either. This is my first time ever doing a review, but honestly has been the worst experience. Been 2 months trying to solve my transfer from LA county.

There is no point in reviewing the Kern County Human Services, but if they do an error, you have to fix it. Over three months ago they made the error and put me as having Medi-Cal as a secondary health insurance. The only thing I can say is that if I would have a health insurance from my employer, I would not need to have Medi-Cal. They had three months to fix the error after I personally went there with documentation and scanned it. Not only only that, I also mailed a copy of the documents. Now, we have Covid -19 and you cannot get a hold of them. They do not even deserve one star. They have C4Yourself, where you can supposedly send documents ( what a joke). Their phone numbers? Hahaha.

Terrible service!! All I want is my damn medical and the sorry workers don't EVER give a call back. My worker told me she will email me as soon as I got off the phone so I can send my check stubs to her and get my benefits. She NEVER did and every single time I called her she never picked up not once and I left continuous voicemails and never heard from her. Still trying to get medical and it's been a month. I've reapplied several times and it's the same thing over and over with a different worker each time. It's ridiculous.

The welfare department reguarding renewing your medi-cal is failing at their job. My friend got her renewal letter she sent in the information they asked for and didn't hear anything from them. She found out she didn't have medi-cal when she went to the Doctors and she was not covered they never sent her a denial letter or a letter stating they needed more information. She then went to the welfare department spoke to the person who was her worker she was told she needed to turn in a couple of things and 3 days later her medical was reinstated. Now it is my turn I turned in the letter by the date it send to send it in and I haven't heard anything so I went to the welfare and they told me at the front desk that my medi-cal was pending so I called my worker on Monday and Tuesday I left a message for her to call me and I have not heard from her
