KC Steak House

I've been here a few times twice with my wife and once with my mother as this place is a diamond in th le rough with there exceptional service as well as there food. There ribeye ( my favorite cut) is always made how I ordered it and there lobster mac and cheese is so good i order 2 or 3 servings lol. My mother is a hard critic when it comes to her porterhouse steaks and she absolutely loved it as it was made how she ordered as well as my wife's steak.To add to the great service the first time I went was with my wife on a very busy night and was told I needed a reservation but they still squeezed us in.When I want steak the first place I think of is this location with the service, food, ambiance and the full bar, it's a one stop shop for sure

I have been hearing about this place for a couple decades and we finally got to go for a friends birthday. I absolutely loved our server although I cannot remember her name. She took us to the secret bar next door where we continued to party for our friends birthday. Upon entering this gem of a restaurant, the first thing I noticed was how dark it is. Next was how small the restaurant is. I liked the setup of the place though with the bar having a big presence overall. The drinks were great and so was the bartender. I decided to give the good ole ribeye a try and I am so happy that I did! It was cooked to perfection and the side of garlic mashed potatoes were on point. The hubby devoured his lamb chops and said they were amazing. We will be coming back to try something else and will for sure have some drinks! I'd also love to come during the holidays where I hear it's decorated to the nines!

Good service and entertainment the weekend we were here. Very busy but prompt with drinks and my steak was done as requested. Will be back again.

One of my favorites in Bakersfield! This has the old time charm and the first place I took my Honey for dinner. Steaks are always good and the shrimp cocktail is excellent. We came here during the holidays and this place is all decorated up!! Hillary was our cocktail waitress and she was on top of her game by making sure we didn't go dry. Emily did a fantastic job as our server and was crazy busy but we never waited for anything. Cassie the owner made sure everyone was well taken care of and filled in wherever she was needed. Made everyone feel welcome! Last but not least Aleena and Sierra kept things flowing and bused tables and waited on everyone. During this Holiday Season KC's was slammed yet they kept everything flowing like a fine tuned machine. If you haven't been here you need to go. I'm headed back tonight!! I give KC', 5 Forks Up!

This place of OK+. Staff was nice. Food was OK. Drinks were good. Packed for a Monday night. Restaurant was cool. Old school steakhouse vibe. Steaks did not match the old school vibe. OK+

The NY strip was very tender and juicy and cooked a perfect medium. I ate every last bite. Of course I added the bleu cheese to the steak, it was absolutely delectable! The green beans were some of the best I ever tasted. My husband enjoyed the lobster Mac n cheese. It's very dimly lit inside, making for a more romantic atmosphere. We sat at the bar & Aleena our Bartender made a perfect margarita and green Tea shot and made sure our food arrived quickly. First of many great experiences I'm sure! Growing up in Bakersfield, I'm mad at myself for not coming any sooner to KC Steakhouse. Came by on a Saturday for my first time, and absulotely loved this place. The ambiance here was awesome. Dark, had a bar type feeling and it was a classy decoration that I liked. Menu was good and extensive. They have just about everything you would think a steakhouse would have. I decided to try their 9oz filet mignon, cost me $52 for the plate but IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. My steak was cooked to perfection and tasted AMAZING. Hands down the best steak I have had in all of Bakersfield and I'm a huge steak fan fyi. The baked potato that was my side was also superb. Overall, my meal was a 10 out of 10. Our server and bartender were phenomenal. These ladies were on it and they were so kind! When you have great service and a great meal, you know you will be back. Thanks KC steakhouse, you got an awesome spot there. See you guys very soon.

We've been coming here for about a half century, and it's as special and intimate as it ever was.This time, we came at 3:00, and ordered from the lunch menu. I got the steak, smothered in mushrooms, and all kinds of delicious items. My wife ordered the homemade soup and salad!Missy made it all special, with her genuinely warm and friendly service!

We had dinner on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 8:00 pm. We did not have a reservation so we sat at the bar and had a cocktail while we waited for our table. I ordered an Amaretto Sour and it was prepared perfectly, it was delicious. My friend ordered a Paloma and she said it wasn't good but refused to send it back. There was a small band playing that night and the music wasn't overly loud, just some nice background music. Once seated a waitress came by with some "Love Shots" a Valentine's Day alcohol shot. The shot was $6.00 and cash only, unable to add to your dinner tab, I found this to be inconvenient. Nonetheless, we purchased two shots and they were ok, nothing spectacular. And probably won't purchase again. We ordered the jalapeño poppers for our appetizer and they were delicious. Nice size, filled with a cheese mixture and fried. They had a bit of a spicy kick and were served hot. They were freshly prepared, not oily/greasy. We were also provided a bread and butter basket. Bread was warm and butter packets were spreadable. We were also served beans and salsa. I had the NY Steak special (listed on the board). The steak was cooked as ordered and very flavorful. It came with a balsamic reduction and blue cheese, delicious. The steak was a nice size for the price. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were a bit on the dry side but delicious flavor. The side of green beans were okay, canned green beans with onions, stew tomatoes and bacon. My friend ordered the ribeye special with a chimichurri sauce, which was ordered on the side. The steak was prepared as ordered and seasoned perfectly. We both ordered the same sides. We both added a garden salad ($5.00 each) and what a disappointment. Do not recommend adding the salad, complete waste of money and awful. It was iceberg lettuce with 4 stale croutons. Beyond disappointing. I had a Justin Vineyard wine and it was decent. They don't have an extensive wine selection. Overall, food was good but our steaks were fantastic. The waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. We will come back because the steaks were that good.

All the staff there are so cool! Steaks are next level. Low light intimate dinner setting that has a nice bar and great food!
