We lived in Exeter for the past 7 years and had driven past the Kaweah Motel dozens of times but never needed to stay there. But now, having sold our Exeter house, we need a place to stay when we come back to visit family and friends so we tried the Kaweah Motel. We had a very positive experience. The staff was friendly and responsive. The room was spacious with a newly remodeled bathroom; granite countertop, tiled floor and shower. The beds were firm but comfortable. Flat screen tv with more channels than you could possibly watch. Quiet, clean and very affordable.

We loved it! Don't be fooled from the look outside, rooms are good size, clean, recently renovated (shower was amazing!) and they come with tv, refrigerator and microwave, clean towels and toiletries. Restaurants and gas station are within walking distance. And the price was really honest. We couldn't have asked for better.

Don't judge a book by its cover! We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great experience. The motel may look old from the outside but the rooms have all been recently remodeled. They are spacious and clean inside. The bathrooms have granite counters with nice, clean tile showers. The motel is privately owned so don't expect services that come with a large chain but what you can expect is friendly, personable service. The family that owns this motel cares about this business and the people that make it succeed which is the customers. I will choose this motel hands down the next time I'm in town!

For the price it is clean, has a micro wave and refrig. Friendly front desk and helpful. I would suggest you bring your own pillow. We stayed two nights and it is close to down town Exeter, nice walk, great murals.

Stayed one night, was unsure about the second. The lady said if I checked out before 11am I would be refunded my second day. I checked out at 8 am and was refunded only 40 dollars. The bathrooms had cold water and the remote had no batteries in it.

Horrible experience. Early Saturday morning there were lots of men yelling, loud stomping on the roof above my room accompanied by forceful metallic banging. This went on for hours. Obviously wasn't able to get any sort of rest. Called front desk, multiple times, but their incompetence was baffling. I asked for a quieter room but still haven't received an adequate reply, been over an hour...DO NOT stay here!

This placed saved us when our Airbnb turned out to have no working toilets, and no running water - even after multiple confirmations the same day! So far no refund from Airbnb either - said "we cancelled too late".This place is not a "shiny hotel" - it is a friendly, family run recently and thoughtfully renovated roadside motel. SUPER CLEAN. Our shower and bathroom were tiled with beautiful stone, and the sink had a new granite counter. Plenty of hot water - new wall to wall carpet in the bedroom and refinished furniture. Lots of cable channels including HBO, a working refrigerator with small freezer - for OUR food and beverages - not the crammed thing you get at larger hotels. Had a working microwave and excellent coffee maker too. Also a hair dryer. Ample soap and shampoo products.Beds were new, firm, bedding 100% soft cotton, nice blankets. The pool was big, deep and super clean - but not heated. Would have been great during the day but we were out and about to Sequoia and Kings Canyon Parks. The only drawbacks were the AC - kinda loud, road noise - but if you are really tired you can ignore that - we turned the AC off after the room cooled. The pillows are a bit thick so I just switched to a stack of clean towels. All non feather which I liked, since I have an allergy to feathers. This is a family run place, not a chain, we had friendly and super communication at all times of the day and night. Price was excellent. There are a few eating places in town, and small grocery stores - also you are just a few minutes from Three Rivers, and about 20-30 minutes from Visalia. We ate dinner out, but were able to have our own breakfast and coffee with the refrigerator, and coffee maker - helped us get out to an early start.I would say if you are in this area to see the Parks- try this Motel, or camping, or booking any other established place. There are many options since it is closer to Sequoia and Kings Canyon which are less traveled than Yosemite. With Airbnb you are often out of cell phone and wifi range, and if the place you book is not habitable - you will wind up paying for it anyway and looking for an alternative on a dark country road like we were. Luckily Kaweah Motel - answers their phone in person, and accommodates you if they still have rooms. Even having to pay them as well, it was worth it to have a working toilet. Even the Federal Parks treat you better than that when you are camping!
