Kakes by Karen

I asked her to make a grooms cake for my wedding. I had forgotten about this, and wasn't able to give her much notice. She was able to take my order the week of. I gave her some information about what I wanted, and she was able to bring my vision to life. Also her price was affordable. My husband loves his "big soda cup" and everyone was so impressed with the cake. My husband loved it.

Karen made my wedding cake 21 years ago along with our groom's cake. They were perfect and the best tasting cakes I have ever had. The marriage ended a few years ago but I am still thinking about that cake and looking for an excuse to get to Bakersfield and get another one! Highly recommend Karen.

Karen made a beautiful mermaid themed cake for a bridal shower I hosted. Not only was the cake absolutely lovely, but it was moist and delicious! I highly recommend Kakes by Karen and can't wait to order another cake.

She did my wedding cake! The prices are reasonable and she works with you. I did 3 payments. My cake was so good and fresh! The shop is in Oildale and I almost didn't order from here because of the area. I heard a lot of good things about her cakes so I did my cake tasting and had to order from her. I was happy with this place.

Had my 25th birthday cake done by Karen with dark purple frosting, black polka dots, and a black bow...don't worry, she asked my Mom when she picked it up how old I was turning because of the odd colors. I loved it!! The inside was white cake and strawberries...everyone at my dinner loved it. Definitely recommend her for any cake needs.

Karen has made a "Stanford Cake" with the Stanford Logo so perfectly done for my son's Validictorian Grad party when he got in to Stanford. Cake was absolutely delicious, by the way. This time I knew that whatever I dreamed up, she could do. So I ordered some cupcakes for my other daughter's grad party. I am going to call them "ImmaculateMocha Amaretto Cupcakes. Frosting was Mocha & cupcakes were Amaretto. From the moment I laid eyes on them, I died and went to heaven. I had asked for a white flower on the top of each one, not specifying what kind of flower, and she gave me a beautiful wedding cake looking large hibiscus flower covering almost the whole cupcake and then they had little green steeples and a pearlessent sparkle on top. They were georgous and everyone that saw them gasped at their dazzling perfection!Just feel honored to put it into words. Now lets move on to the flavors, which were so creamy delicious and just the perfect balance of delicate Almomd and Java to fill the palate with gormet pleasure!Her kind of cupcakes are the reason why cupcakes are so popular in todays sophisticated culinary world. The photo does not do it justice. :) My daughter (the graduate) wants to know if she can do an internship in her shop this summer!!!!Her skill and service to Bakersfield totally made our memorable family day!Thank you Karen!Sherry H

My mom ordered a small cake for my husband and I on our 1 year anniversary, since we got married in Vegas and kinda bypassed the whole idea. Mom got a beeeeautiful white cake with a blue rose. It was so detailed and yummy! I will be back to order from Karen for other occasions! Thanks again!

This bakery is just the cutest so modern and clean! The staff was very helpful and friendly ! I went in 2 grab some cupcakes for my staff of 4 ended up leaving with a dozen! My staff loved loved them. The apple pie cupcake was just perfect. The strawberry shortcake was finger licking good not too sweet just delicious! The price's were very reasonable. I'll definitely be back soon.
