Came in Saturday night. They were super nice and let us reserve a table.Inside it was almost at full capacity, the music was playing at a fairly good volume that blocked out ambient conversation but we could still hear each other. It was a mix of oriental sounding music that sounded straight out of Edo period and a cool night-groove track. Around the bar looked like original art and paintings of different anime. The vibe inside was actually really nice and helped get the saliva flowing.Aka Buddy role- mango white fish, shrimp tempura $18 great. Not spicy Dragon roll $17- unagi was good, avocado solid. Shrimp tempura also tastes good Sexy jalapeño $18 spicy mayo sauce with fried sliced jalapeños and spicy tuna inside Mochi ice cream- $6.95. Was ok, nice of the kitchen to split into 4. 3 pieces. Gyudon- beef over rice. $13.95 may or may not be worth the price. Probably wouldn't get again Salmon sashimi and Ikura over rice $19 Nice slices of salmon and little spoon of previously frozen Ikura. I was glad they even offered it

Service: If I could give 0 star I would do it. I went there for my birthday dinner with my family on a Saturday night. They were accommodating a huge birthday party at the restaurant which took up a few tables. Upon arrival, this big group of people already finished their food. Then they did the cake, sang the birthday song. Afterwards they were sitting there and chitchatting for a long time. At the end, they used different credit cards to pay separately which took a long time as well. At that time, we noticed that another 2 tables became available. We'd been waiting for 1.5 hours with 2 seniors and 2 young kids. I suggested that they should put those 2 tables together so that 6 of us could sit down perfectly. Staff was not helpful at all. They insisted that these 2 tables should be reserved for another party of 6 which was still on the way to the restaurant, and we should wait for the big birthday party to leave then they would set up the table for us. But we were already there for a long time. I don't understand why they didn't let us sit down first and gave another table to those people who were still on the way.Food: This is worst Japanese food I've ever had. I doubted why this restaurant got so many good reviews on Yelp. Are those fake reviews? My husband's coworker who is from Visalia also said that this was not a good Japanese restaurant. Sushi Kuu is the best in the area. We ordered a few bento boxes and ramen noodles. Everything was too salty. They used the same teriyaki sauce for all the bento boxes but apparently that was not a great one. It was super salty. And bento boxes were not that authentic since it didn't come with a salad or miso soup which you usually see in other Japanese restaurants. California rolls that my kids and husband usually love to eat did not taste right, either.Anyways, I will not go back. I'm not from Visalia and was just traveling at that time. If I do go back to Visalia one day, I will not go back to this restaurant.

This place used to be my absolute favorite for ramen, especially the Black Clover Ramen which was always incredible. Unfortunately, our latest visit was a big letdown--the food was off, and the service was worse. The waitress, who was dressed in a pink hoodie and sweats, barely said a word to us and didn't check on our table even once. We had to wave her down multiple times, feeling like we were a bother. To make matters worse, it took almost fifteen minutes to bring us the bill. The owner happened to walk in, and I asked him for the bill. When I mentioned the ramen was too spicy and not the same, he just shook his head as if he didn't understand English.I won't be back. I'll just take my business to Sushi Kuu.

We love this place, we do, and I've previously given 5 star review but our last experience was just ehhhhh. My sushi roll, the rice wasn't packed tight enough and the bottom end kept falling apart. The garlic edamame had zero flavor on it and for $7.49 we only got a handlful of them. I still love this place, but they just dropped the ball this time. We will be back to see if they go back to the 5 stars they used to be.

My family loves this place, I finally had a chance to try it tonight, amazing food. Love the cozy vibe, it was very busy, we sat at the bar, excellent fresh quality food all made to order. We had a chance to watch all the sushi being made in front of us. Portions are very good and there is something for everyone. We love the anime decor! Thank you guys! Awesome food, we'll be back!

Cozy corner spot for ramen and sushi. Came in around 5pm on a Saturday night and just beat the dinner rush. We were able to easily get a table for 4.Service was attentive but sometimes uncoordinated. Multiple servers came to us asking similar questions which got confusing. But I did notice as some people walked in, they were greeted by the wait staff like they were regulars so that was promising.Sushi and nigiri were decent portions. Shoyu ramen broth was a little salty and the tonkatsu ramen broth was just ok. We might stick to their rolls and nigiri next time. By the time we left, there was a nice sized crowd already forming outside waiting for tables to open up.

The good: the calamari, veggie tempura and sushi roll was good.Cons: the ramen & chicken teriyaki was not good. My sister ordered the same ramen as I. After placing an order and waiting for 15 mins, found out they ran out of pork chasiu, so we sub for chicken. The chicken was overcooked and dry (just like the chicken teriyaki). When they brought out the ramen, one had an egg and the other didn't. They failed to tell us, so when i asked about the egg turns out they ran out and didn't say anything. Not a fan.

The service here is great! Super friendly, very helpful. One person we were dining with had been there previously and didn't remember what roll they got but had a photo and our sever was able to tell her what it was. I ordered the Black Clover ramen with garlic chili oil on the side, another in our group ordered the Miso ramen, and the other ordered a sushi roll. The Black Clover ramen was delicious, I love a tonkatsu broth and theres was delicious. The chashu pork was really good, although I wish they put more of it in there. But none the less it was really good.We also got the tempura vegetables and those were great. I tried the sushi roll as well and it was really good. It had imitation crab inside and spicy tuna on top as well as spicy mayo, eel sauce, and siracha.
