McNally's is basically the only show in town for miles and miles. That being said it is a solid Motel with more amenities than is customary. My room was clean, the bedding is dated Except for the sheets which are brand new in very clean and changed daily. The cleaning staff was exceptional during my stay I had the opportunity to watch them clean the six rooms multiple times. They do a thorough job and they change all the sheets and pillowcases daily. There is a general store attached that sells everything you could possibly need in this area, if there are any exceptions I couldn't come up with any.The burger joint on stand Is the only source for food court for miles and miles and at least about a 40 minute drive. For a simple burger joint the menu is extensive. The breakfast menu is also extensive. The food is decent, and some of it is exceptionally good - milk shakes are insanely good.McNally's restaurant which is home of the 40 ounce Porterhouse and pretty much a legend in this area is also on site. It is open Thursday through Sunday only. Behind the rooms is more excitement, hidden but a lot back there. It took me two days in the hotel to figure out the back actually had things to offer. There is a horseshoe pit and a fire pit - but those ate not all for the best features. There is a steel and wooden bridge that goes across the river. The bridge accesses river swimming, a party place underneath the bridge, and multiple trails to hike. If you're not camping I highly recommend McNally's.

Very nostalgic old Chuck Wagon style steak house on the upper Kern River. Just 20 minutes North of Kernville. Great food, good service and an Ambiance that's unique to the area.

Best dinner I have had in awhile. I got filet mignon, clam chowder and shrimp and they were AMAZING! High quality, cooked perfectly seasoned so good. The clam chowder was as good as pismos splah cafe so if you are a chower lover try it for sure! Also the staff and owners were all super nice and friendly made us (and our pup) feel welcome. The patio was beautiful and we had a river view! Highly recommended!

After long drive/trip, we arrived and we're excited and immediately dropped off our stuff and headed out to see the sequoias (5 min or less). We noticed a large stain on the carpet upon entry. We only returned at night after having dinner. THEN, wife stepped into the stain, and it wetted her sock. Very tired after long day, and dinner, we got back and showered (normal stuff), and went to bed. We immediately noticed a foul smell of feet in the beds, one far worse than other. Loud ghetto family neighbors next door w/ large dogs (including pit bull) woke us up late in the evening. So we only had one night, checked out and cont. on. Later, we brought the issue to attention to management, their response was "why didn't you report it immediately?" Ok, really? Who? The number at the bottom confirmation? And late in the evening, we are going to pack up everything and switch rooms? Ha, seriously? The filth issues should been caught w/ routine care and responsibility--period. Thats a STANDARD procedure w/ any establishment; that's got its you-know-what together. I've traveled all over the world, and I'll tell ya, the bed thing was the foulest bed incident I've experienced.

Do not stay at this place! Bed bugs everywhere. It is disgusting. My friends and I got bitten on our hands, neck, face and back. We stayed in room 5 and both beds had so many bed bugs.

Great staff and some of the best steaks I have ever had. It's a little bit of a drive but well worth it if you are in Kernville.

This place is a dump. Smells of raw sewage, no caps on RV dumps, RV sites too close together, dirt everywhere, nails on the ground. The RV sites had rugs on the ground by the water hook ups to absorb water from leaky water pipes and sewage spills. It took me one minute to fix the water leak, I threw the stinky sewage stain mildew stained rug in the dumpster. I will never stay here again.
