I was looking at a colleague's headshots and admiring the quality. He told me David Chan took them, and I immediately looked through his entire online gallery. I was so impressed, so I booked a time.David was great at communicating along the way. Payment was easy and extremely affordable, especially for the amount of time and detail put into the session.He had a great outdoor location where we did some shots, but the studio is also fantastic! I highly recommend these guys for your headshot needs. It was among the best experiences I've ever had with a photographer!

I worked with David Chan and wow, I had the best headshot photoshoot experience I've ever had.First off, pricing. That was what hooked me in. David offers a few different shoot packages on his website: 1 Look Outdoors - $200, 2 Looks Outdoors - $275, 3 Looks Outdoors - $350, Unlimited Looks Indoors for 2 hours - $275. I signed up for that last package. I was thinking, "$275 for unlimited looks?!?! Sign me up, that's an amazing deal!!" You seriously can't find a better deal anywhere else in Los Angeles. Most other places will charge you $300 or more for 3 looks and will charge you extra for edits. The pricing was perfect for my budget and you best believe I took advantage of the 2 hours. I was able to fit in 6 or 7 different looks. That was amazing.Next, David is very kind and is flexible with scheduling. There was a lot of back and forth in our emails, mostly just me not being able to reply quickly enough, but David was very patient with me and we eventually set up a date and time for the shoot. He definitely will work with your schedule if he doesn't have many other shoots or if he isn't working on his own auditions himself. He really knows how things work for this side of the industry.Next, the shoot itself. We did our shoot indoors as I signed up for. David has a whole home studio set up at his apartment. It's right in the middle of Burbank so no annoying traffic getting there, easy to find parking, and just nice area over all. I once did a shoot on Melrose on a Saturday and it took me 30 min to find parking.Anyway, back to the studio. It is amazing. He makes some of his own backgrounds and he has everything all set up. He has a hanging rod for your clothes and goes through the outfits and looks with you. He will really experiment with colors and schemes and looks to see what will come out the best for you. I trust his judgment 150%. And he's a lot of fun! Very down to earth. He'll gas you up during your shoot and make you feel like you're rocking the camera. I felt super comfortable with him.Overall such an amazing experience. If I change my look and need new headshots, I will definitely go back. I know David works with Jive Duck Studios and they help with taping for auditions and offer different services. I put my complete trust in these guys. They're great. I recently did some headshots with David Chan. He is probably one of the most patient and understanding photographers I've worked with in LA.He took the time to make sure we captured the full idea of the looks I was trying to get and Even made a few suggestions that made the pictures turn out even better. I would definitely shoot with him again and I highly recommend his services.

I was recommended to David Chan by two actor colleague-friends and I'm extremely pleased with my experience. It was one of the easiest, most relaxed, and fun shoots I've had. He is a true professional - quick with communication and turnaround. I got my proofs the same day I shot with him! Also, he is knowledgeable and stays relevant about the industry which is so helpful. My only problem is narrowing down which photos to choose! We got a plethora of good options and essences! I whole-hearted recommend him !

These guys are awesome! I worked with Dante and Marc and they are great. I read with Dante and he gave me a lot to work with and Marc handled the camera. Great energy, positive guys. I am definitely coming back!They have a professional studio set up in there apartment. You can park on the street with no issues.

So David was referred to me and while I did some shopping around I still went with the reference. He comes at a great value and his studio was easy to get to in Burbank. When it came down to it we had a great time shooting. He is a fellow actor so we had the same vocabulary to work off of and while I planed certain looks with him ahead of time it was was great to work through the wardrobe on site and specifically tailor looks for the "Dad" shot or the "lawyer" look even the "geek" and "supper hero" looks. It really helped me get in the right head space and see what I would be submitting each photo for and then actually have fun with the shoot. I received the link with all the photos the next day and was amazed. He really did a great job choosing the right background for each outfit and character. The link was supper easy and convenient to navigate and start your own favorite list so you can get back to the ones you liked. If you're on the fence, don't be. Totally worth it!

David Chan is the best photographer I've ever worked with. He is an artist with a keen eye for color, mood and expression. AND he is a total pleasure to work with. From the moment I arrived at the studio, he was very warm, kind and such a pleasure to work with. Below I provide reasons as to why I have such a high level of respect for his work: CLEAR COMMUNICATION AND QUICK RESPONSES: From the moment of inquiry, David is timely with his responses and has clear and concise directions to set you up for a successful shoot. He is willing to answer all questions and communicates with you many times before and after your shoot for preparation and follow-up. KEEN EYE FOR DETAIL: David has a very sharp eye to capture you in the way that best portrays your features and the character you're aiming for. He's pre-scoped the neighborhood to find the best background to offer his clients-- one that helps compliment the essence of your character. He does his homework and asks for photos of your outfits in advance so he can find the perfect pairing between wardrobe and setting. POSITIVE VIBES: His energy and motivating remarks throughout the shoot helps in sustaining the confidence and stamina needed to project and deliver from beginning to end. ASSISTANCE AND FEEDBACK: I had a much easier time shooting my commercial shots (all smiles) than I did with my theatrical because of the level of seriousness I had to convey. I asked David for help to give me reference points to think out about to adjust my face, posture and mindset in order to portray the character as accurately as possible. He was so willing to help think them through for me which definitely helped me achieve the depth of the character I was going for. QUICK-TURN AROUND AND PLENTY OF OPTIONS: I got my proofs the night of my shoot and was able to begin narrowing down my top selections. He also provides many proofs for you to pick from (anywhere between 50-100 shots per look)-- definitely bang for your buck! GREAT QUALITY & GREAT RESULTS: My agent loved the shots and spoke very highly about the quality. I also got the final edits the same day I gave him my final selections which was SO awesome because I got to upload them right away. The touchups and edits to the pictures are professionally executed and do not look overly edited-- still captures the natural essence of the actor with an extremely smooth finish.
