Jess's Donut Shop

I don't stop often stop at donut shops but I wanted a coffee. About noon on a Saturday order a small black coffee, well, order a donut just because. The donut tasted fresh and the coffee was fine. The couple at the counter were attentive and courteous. Older place with a few tables to eat in. Clean enough. Price wise? I buy donuts so infrequently I can't comment. The place is old and the neighborhood has seen better days but no problems. I wouldn't drive across town (I'm not a donut snob) but it's a perfectly serviceable shop[ if one is in the area.

Way overpriced. 24.00 for 5 doughnuts and one buttermilk, plus 2 coffees!!!Ridiculous!!! Selection is small. The doughnuts were not tasty at all. They charge extra for "specialty doughnuts" which are NOT made with quality ingredients. The buttermilk was definitely NOT made with buttermilk. Coffee was watered down. I'll stick with Foothill Doughnuts, they taste way better and are better priced with excellent service.

Smith's who?? This is my absolute favorite donut shop in Bakersfield. The donuts are always so soft, fluffy, and fresh. The sizes are generous, and the staff is always so sweet. We don't go to East Bakersfield as often, but when we do we always have to stop in for a dozen.

Lovely local business! Affordable prices for fresh yummy treats! The staff I met are beer sweet and attentive. Cute little place to sit and have a quick breakfast. Has minimal seating in front of a large window so lots of natural lighting!

I love that they're open late and for a large chunk of the day, you never know when a donut craving is going to kick in!At then end of the day, there is a very limited selection, which is to be expected, but the donuts are always worth it.The donuts themselves are large, the dough is soft and fluffy and the glazing is generously applied.

Delicious donuts! The sugar twists and long chocolate bar donuts were so good. Love this place!

Sweet find! Clean and safety protocols in place. 2 person's allowed in at a time. Deliciousness!! We purchased 6 various donuts and 2 Ham and Cheese breakfast croissants.

Jess's Donut Shop is better than average and located on the East side of town. Stopped in for a quick snack. The cases were loaded with many options. I chose a Maple Bar and a Custard Filled Chocolate Donut.Decided to eat my snacks at their shop. I chose the table that looked least dirty. It appeared that their little dining area had not been cleaned in awhile. 2 stars for cleanliness on this visit. I am guessing that they are normally looking much better most of the time.The Maple Bar was larger than most donut shops. It tasted better than maple bars made at large grocery stores. Compared to other donut shops in town, I would say they were average. The quality of the ingredients was not grade A. So 3 stars.Custard filled chocolate donuts are my favorite choices when I visit a donut shop for the first time. Theirs was above average. Good custard to donut ratio. Would buy this one again. So 3.5 stars.Next time I am in the area craving donuts, I would stop in again. Just would not go out of my way to go here based on this experience.

Definitely not the best doughnuts in town, for them to charge me &35.00+ tax.This place is a rip off!Don't wast your money and time!!
