Jarritos Mexican Restaurant

The food reminded me of my abuelita. I had the Enchiladas Mexicanas. My dad had the chili verde. We both enjoyed our meal. The guacamole abs chips were excellent. Don't come if you are in a rush. They make everything from scratch, so it takes time. I knew the food was gonna taste good. When I asked the waitress what sauce comes on the enchiladas, and she named the specific chile they used. Usually people respond with red sauce or green sauce. Not here!

Kind service, good food. Good size kid meals, good Chile relleno. Small little place with not a great street presence but that's what you get in Arvin. Much better than McDonalds or Taco Bell.

Normally my family and I go to Pupusas 100% Salvadoran restaurant but it was close on Wednesday afternoon we drove from Tehachapi, so we're are starving. we decided to go to this Jarritos Mexican restaurant. I had torta wasn't too bad my wife had quesabirria it was OK. the disappointment was I order two kids meal for my kids One was chicken nuggets and french fries looks like they got it from the grocery store in frozen isle And the other kids meal was cheese enchilada.

Just happened to be in Arvin today on a solo mission to scout some Orchards. I picked this place out of the blue and sadly I was a disappointed. Right 9ff the bat the service should of been an indication. Had to repeat myself and point at the menu for the teenage waitress. Then she took my plate to the wrong table. She must have walked my my empty tea glass 5 times. Anyways I digress. I ordered the Chili Verde and it had decent flavor but the meat was dry and tough, the sauce was thin and had not began to set up. As I ate my Chips and Salsa I began to miss my coworker and turkey hunting partner I have never hunted with Joe. Joe would have ordered something with shrimp in it. It would have been hot. I sould have called him for some sage advice. Lesson learned. Good thing I only get down here a couple times a year. I definitely can't suggest this place to my work crew because we have a tendency to crucify each other. Good times. Oh and they charge a dollar to use credit.

So I just so happened to be out in Arvin working , didn't bring anything for lunch and I was craving Mexican mariscos. It's as if all the stars aligned and it was meant for me to have found this hidden gem, and I'm sure glad I did. My co-worker and I arrived around 10:00am and it was not busy at all, so we sat down wherever we wanted and were attended to right away.The place is not big inside at all but just right,makes it feel homey. Our server was friendly and we had a couple questions about the menu items which she answered without a problem. We started off with the free chips and salsa that she brought out upon greeting us which were delicious, everything sounded good on the menu but ultimately I went with the Campechana, my co-worker ordered the shrimp cocktail and three shrimp tacos.OMG the Campechana was perfect! The seafood inside was fresh and abundant the broth flavorful so good you didn't even have to add anything to it. They have this little bottle of salsa on the tables that's homemade that I highly recommend it's a bit spicy so beware! My co worker devoured his cocktail and tacos and said it was the best he'd had in a while. Overall good food , good service I will be definitely making the drive out to Arvin with my family soon to try some more of those delicious sounding menu items!

Arvin has some of the most authentic Mexican restaurants all lined up along the Main Street. This is one of my favorites, it's been around since I was a baby and it's only gotten better with time. My favorites: Enchiladas Mexicanas these enchiladas come either with cheese or chicken. I always choose chicken because there's plenty of cheese on top of them. They are cooked in a red sauces, fried actually which leaves them with a tad crispy flavor which is perfect. Once rolled up they add plenty of cotija cheese, lettuce, and jalapeños and cabbage in vinagre (vinegar). The best part is the potatoes!! Crispy delicious potatoes cover these already amazing enchiladas. The flavors all combined is like a party in your mouth. You can order 4 or 7. I've also enjoyed their tacos, burritos, breakfast entrees, shrimp cocktail. All of it so good and flavorful. Yum! They also have super delicious chips and salsa which is a great way to start things off. My favorite drink is their pineapple drink. So flavorful and great. Did I mention they serve their drinks in crushed ice?!? What a plus!! You can dine in, order ahead of time and pick up, or order to go there and then.

Avoid this place. There is a reason we were the only customers. Bad service. Food sucked.

Fantastic! We just wanted to try something out of Bakersfield. My husband ordered a plate of 5 tacos. 2 Chile verde tacos 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor. I stole a Chile verde meat nugget, awesome! Each taco had 4 1inch cubes of pork in it. It was juicy and tender. He said the pastor was average. I didn't try it. I ordered a carne asada taco salad. It came in a freshly made flour shell and was a very beautifully dressed. I poked around to see how much asada I got. There was so much! The meat was lightly crispy, juicy, nicely diced and seasoned in such a great way. I parked the green table salsa with it. The salsa tasted like a lime avocado salsa. Not a lot of heat, but it was soooo good! I'm sure we will be back for the taco Tuesday deal,0.99¢ a taco. I will say that the menu pictures are outdated on yelp and prices have changed. But it was very affordable.

I ordered an asada burrito and they gave me a wet burrito they should pay attention on what people order.

Try the shrimp tacos ! I always get those and they are so yummy. I drive from Bakersfield just to get them , I put their signature sauce on them for a little spice
