Ichiban Sushi

This is undoubtedly the finest sushi restaurant in town. It tends to become quite crowded during lunch hours and on weekends. We made reservations for our large group to celebrate the guys' birthdays. Alejandra and Taylor excel at checking in on us and ensuring our drinks are refilled promptly. However, we often end up with another waitress I've mentioned in previous reviews; we practically have to flag her down to get refills or address other needs, as she tends to walk by without noticing empty glasses. Having served for many years in my twenties, I understand how challenging busy nights can be. It seems she focuses primarily on takeout orders. In my opinion, they should assign one person exclusively to handle takeout, allowing the rest of the staff to concentrate on dine-in customers.2/21/25

Came here for my daughters birthday. First time here and it was a lot busier than expected but service was great. Cold Japanese beers. I had a house salad with wasabi dressing, that was tasty. We had a whole bunch of rolls it was hard to keep track of them all. They were all excellent but the one that stood out was the 911 roll. It had this crazy mohawk topping that I didn't expect. It was very rich and a whole extra surprise to the roll. We also had the spicy garlic edamame which was surprisingly good. We did notice that the spicy stuff could have had a little more heat.

Food and service has always been great. The atmosphere is modern and clean. In a very nice shopping area.

Another gem I stumbled on when making a pit stop for lunch. This was by far one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever experienced. The preparation and quality of every dish was meticulous and divine! It was beyond good, I mean everything, every roll was perfection! The staff was super efficient and coordinated with attending customers. Casual and clean setting, tables are generously spaced apart to make for a comfortable experience. This has definitely become an instant favorite place to stop on by for sushi. Highly recommend! 10/10

Absolutely love ichiban! I have become a regular customer over the last year or so. Love the staff and they never disappoint with my orders!

Good servers and great food. The menu pictures online seemed outdated so I took some new ones. Best sushi in tehachapi by far and the only one open all week. The interior has a good amount of seating.

Go here often and love the sushi here. We have 3 small kids and service is always quick and everything is so yummy. Blooming onion roll and 911 are two of my favorites and my kids love the bento box with miso soup.

Went in with my wife to get sushi at 16:00 Lady cleaning the tables looked confused when I said two and said I don't know . I said there are two tables over there. She got a kid from the back that said we would have to wait for a table or sit at bar. I said what's wrong with those two tables over there. He said he can't seat us there because a group of 8 might come in and I'd have to sit at the bar or wait. I told him he just lost two customers. He didn't say anything and we walked out in disgust. We used to stop there all the time with the family and friends. Guess we won't be taking the family and friends there ever again.

This restaurant was a delight from start to finish. I ordered the shrimp lovers sushi, a side dish of edamames, and a pot of green tea. It was delicious, Chef Mario out did himself. I especially liked sitting at the sushi bar and watching them build their beautiful creations. Great place to go where the service is amazing, and the servers are always polite. I highly recommend this restaurant for a night out or any special occasion."Life is too short, not to eat sushi."
