Hwy 155 Market & Cafe

This was such an amazing stop on the way to the snow up by Alta Sierra. We stopped for a potty break and the had two large restroomsthat were very clean. The store is so cute and has lots of local made items. We saw that they offered food so we made sure to stop on the way home as well. The pastrami and tri tip did not disappoint!! The zucchini was amazing as well! Food came out hot and fresh. We will make sure we stop by again! Staff and owner were all super friendly!! Kids even got a free sucker! They were so excited!

Place seems to be under new management. Food was so so, but the nostalgic decoration was worth the visit. The unpatriotic merchandise was probably the biggest negative aspect. If I did it again, I shop the antiques and skip the food.

Ryan made us the best trip-tip sandwich I have had in ... forever. Every bite was a delight, full of flavor, a bit of sweet, a bit of spicy, a lot of smoke, all juicy and tender. Don't know what's in the sauce but it really complimented the beef, slice of tomato, and French roll. Great place to hang out too. We enjoyed the retro deco and welcome hometown atmosphere. The folks there made us city slickers feel welcome. Will take a photo next time, we ate ours too soon!

We popped in for a mid-week lunch. It was mostly for the drive up from Bakersfield, but this cafe was a nice surprise. The store is super clean. The staff was super friendly. Because of Covid, the dining area was closed, but we were happy to sit outside on a beautiful afternoon. They ran the food out to us.The food was pretty darn good. I had the tri-tip sandwich, and it was stuffed full of some of the thinnest sliced and most tender trip tip I've ever had. It could used a touch more bbq sauce or some verggies, but I'm nit picking. My wife's roast beef was just as stuffed and looked great. All in price with chips and a drink was really good value. We'll be back.

The tri tip sandwich is unbelievable. Best i ever had! Just perfect. Tender tri tip, lightly sweet bbq, generous cheese and fresh bread. What an amazing discovery in the middle of nowhere. Worth the drive from LA!

Wife & I stopped in there yesterday to have lunch waited at the counter for quite a long time to place an order finally looked in the side door of the kitchen & got their attention. Placed the order & waited a long long time at the table for the food which never came wife got up, got the attention of 3 employees in the kitchen. 1 of them asked wife if we needed a to go container. She informed them that we never got our order & wife brought the cold food to our table. If you think about stopping in there make sure it is a time when employees phone batteries are dead or their not all huddled up in the kitchen & not taking care of customer service. The only thing this place has going for them is there is no other place to eat for miles!

Very good food and service. Always with a smile. And it's always a wonderful drive to come out to Glennville, CA
