Hummus Express

I am actually at a loss for words regarding this restaurant...it is that AWESOME.When we first started patronizing it, we could not believe the size of the plates and portions at such a low, competitive price - wondering how the business remained profitable? Well, we know now. Joul (the owner and chef and his team) come in every single day early - like at 3 a.m. - to start prepping fresh, delectable, scrumptious, mouth-watering Mediterranean food like no where else in the world that we have been. Honestly! Can you imagine dedication like that in today's world? Hard to believe, but true. When you order, your food is then made with the day's freshly prepped ingredients...and we can tell. There is such a generous amount of food on our plates, we always have to get "to go" containers.Joul and team! Thank you for sharing your culinary prowess, dedication, and welcome smiles...but most of all your LOVE...in all your food...and in all you do.

The food is just really good. It's kind of more a fast food style place but it's perfect to get to go or if you're on lunch or something . I would say my favorite Mediterranean in town. well maybe tied with one other.

Good food. Good portion. Good price. Good valueI had the beef shawarma sandwich tasted very good. I will come back again. The lady at the counter was friendly.

I recently was out shopping at this Rosedale shopping center and was craving some mediterranean food. I decided to try Hummus Express for the first time. It was a Saturday afternoon and the shopping center was busy, but was surprised that not one customer was in Hummus Express. That was the first cause for concern. I decided to order a beef shawarma sandwich and take it to go. The order was ready in maybe 3 minutes (surprisingly fast). I asked if there was any sauce, the cashier listed the types of sauces they had. I asked for garlic sauce. She then charged me $1 for it. I thought, Ok, that's fine, since this was my first time here I did not know they'd charge for sauce. I took it home, hungrily awaiting to devour the sandwich. I opened the sauce and it was very thick and paste-like. I did a taste test and did not like it at all. It tasted like a chalky paste and not like a sauce at all, so I refrained from using it in my sandwich. My sandwich wasn't cold per se, but it was not very warm. Something in the sandwich tasted off, not sure if it was the beef or the veggies, but I was not a fan of Hummus Express after this experience. I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone to try a place I'd never been, and maybe there are other items on the menu that are better choices than what I ordered, but I will stick to other places for my mediterranean cravings. Other than the food, the service was quick (too quick?) the woman working the register seemed friendly, and it is in a decent location.

Are you tired of shrinking portions and rising prices at your favorite restaurants? Don't settle for less! Quality and quantity matter. Been coming to Hummus Express since they first started years ago and the portions have gotten smaller and smaller and less items with meal. After spending $40 on 2 meals i asked for a garlic sauce which is tiny and they charge about $1 each as they should be glad to give these out within reason. The food is amazing but you don't get what you used to and it may be because California has really put a damper on fast food places and everything going on in California to hurt everyone from the customer to the owners.

Little Mediterranean place in a large complex with Walmart, Red Lobster, Lowe's etc. The service was prompt and friendly. Water and cutlery is self service . But the highlight is the food. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate , came with side of Greek salad, hummus, 2 thin roti and saffron rice. It was topped with delicious garlic sauce- which made me ask for an extra side of sauce! The lamb kabob, also had a healthy portion of lamb, rice , salad and hummus . The rice was flavorful.Also had a bowl of lentil soup- hot thick and hearty. Portions are large . You can probably share 1 course btw 2. There was something broken with the restroom handle. Tip, keep in mind any order of kebob will take 15 mins to prepare

I was in Hummus Experess eating quietly with my wife when another customer picking up his order walks by and make a loud remark to us.."Its straight fire, right?"We pleasantly responded to this gentelman with agreement. (he was a bro)My first time at Hummus Express and If i have to be blunt it was great!! I orded chicken shawarma and my wife got the chicken kabob plate and we ordered Cali fires to share.Nitty gritty:chicken kabob: Juicier then juicy fruitHummus: I wish i had a bowl of itSalad: not my fave but wife loved it(i dont eat much salad though)Chicken shawarma: dryer than kabob but good flavortahini sause: good but not as good as sultans on stockdale/coffeeGarlic sause: bomb afhot sause: out of this world, better than mexican taco truck salsasFries: crispy (i ordered them with tahini but next time going with garlic)I liked dining in but it only has a few tables and its a bit akward.I feel like this place like hummus express isnt an appealing enough name. i passed this place 10 dozen times with never stopping by. Should def think about rebranding.

WOW, amazing fresh Mediterranean food served here! It's about five miles off the 99 but worth the minor detour. We were treated to a sample of lentil soup. The salad so tasty with homemade vinaigrette. The chicken shawarma with fresh garlic paste, the deliciously creamy hummus with side of hot sauce! The side of pickled turnips and olives... All wonderfully served by the talented chef and family. Thanks for delightful meal n I'm a sea of monotony.

recently tried Hummus Express and ordered the Falafel Plate, Chicken Shawarma, and Kufta Plate. The food overall was delicious, with the garlic sauce being a standout. The flavors were on point, and everything tasted fresh. However, the fries were a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. If you're looking for good Mediterranean food, I recommend giving this place a try, but you might want to skip the fries.

I love the taste of the food . The people who work there are very nice and friendly which makes it great customer service , the store is super clean.So I recommend this place 1000%
