I have heard quite a bit about this place on local Facebook group. It is located on the heart of East Bakersfield, looks like a classic American diner. The interior was nicely upgraded, a beautiful bar, lots of shinny chrome. The waiter was super sweet and friendly, chatting up all the customers. The owner came and greeted me. Very much a throw back family environment. The bread basket is very California, baked bread with choice of butter or salsa, both version were good.I got 16 oz ribeye, corn, mash: the food was delicious. I'm very curious to come back to try their breakfast one day.

This was our 1st visit here and it didn't disappoint. Service was good as we were seated right away and our drink order taken which I like. We ordered biscuits and gravy. I don't know if the biscuits were homemade or not but if they're not I wish they were. I liked them but would have preferred them to be homemade. We also got the 1/2 order of chicken fried steak with eggs and country potatoes. The chicken fried steak and potatoes were the star of the plate. We love both of these. Overall we had a great experience and probably come again if we are on that side of town again. I would like to try other things they had on the menu. I wish they had a light side menu or a senior menu that has smaller portions.

I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and I finally got a chance to go on Sunday, 12/22. I was super excited to try it because all the pictures on Yelp and other social media look like the food is delicious. So three of us went to the restaurant and we ordered the smoked barbecue beef ribs, tri-tip fries, chili size, and French dip sandwich. The only thing that was OK was the chili size. The tri-tip on the fries was very dry and overcooked. It's almost like they re-sautéed it as opposed to using fresh tri-tip. The beef dip sandwich was very rubbery. And the smoked barbecue ribs did not fall off the bone, like it said on the menu... They were rubbery and chewy and also tasted like they were reheated. I was really disappointed. I also paid two dollars extra to have the side dish of my dinner upgraded to onion rings. Their onion rings are made with red onion, and it was a very thin slice of onion that was almost disintegrated in a very puffy dough.I did enjoy the basket of Pyrenees bread and butter. The bread was toasted and delicious. The manager took off the barbecue smoked ribs so that was nice of them however, maybe this place is good for breakfast only. The restaurant itself is very cute, it is fairly new so everything is in great condition and very clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. Glad to see this place is open and thriving and I wish them continued success! Enjoy!

This is a wonderful place for homestead cooking. Excellent atmosphere, friendly service, good prices. We had the Club Sandwich. Nice bread, well stocked sandwich with a good portion of fries. This place could be addicting. Give it a try.

Had some work to do at a rental of ours on the eastside so decided to give this place a try as I see alot of their posts on social media accounts. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The menu has plenty of items so everyone should find something they want. The prices are good as well and I really liked the idea of being able to order a half order of chicken fried steak, which I did. Wife ordered the country club omelette and she said it was good, but would try something different if we ever came back. After many years, I know this means it was just alright. The half order of chicken fried steak was still a pretty good size portion. The hash browns and eggs were typical. The chicken fried steak had such a thick batter and it did not stick to the meat which was a bit annoying, but with pepper and a dash of salt it tasted ok. I also would order something different next time. The sourdough toast was thick and buttery. But let me tell you about the biscuits and gravy! Nice thick biscuits and the gravy was awesome with large chunks of spicy sausage. They are the one thing I would definitely come back for, maybe just getting an order to go when I may be passing by.. The place is packed which is not a surprise as there is so few good bfast spots on this side of town.. Now just hope the landlord doesnt do them dirty like they did Cindys..

Excellent breakfast! This was our first time and they checked all the boxes. Prompt and tentative service. Awesome hometown atmosphere. To top it off the food was perfect. My sausage links, over easy eggs and country potatoes, I couldn't have asked for anything better. My wife had the okie man's breakfast, she was extremely happy. I had some bites and I agree with her. We're going to have to come here again and try dinner.

Honey I'm Home is our restaurant of choice on the east side of Bakersfield. The food is reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is orderly and clean. We like to grab dinner there on weekday evenings because the restaurant is much more crowded on Friday and Saturday.

So a couple of weeks ago we had our family dinner of 9 here. There's no complaints about the service, the service was great. All though they only had 1 waitress for what was a busy time but not really crowded. She did her best even if she mixed up our plates and the cooks didn't send out what was supposed to be to go with what. There were 3 steaks ordered, no flavor, over cooked, and 1 had a lot of fat. The baked potatoes tasted old and were hard. I can't remember what my oldest daughter ordered but she didn't care for it. Kids food was okay. Now to what was dissatisfying. My other daughter ordered the French dip, and to be honest it did not look like real meat. She took a couple of bites and couldn't finish it. Later that night she was sick. The one thing that we all agreed on that we did like was the bread and salsa. They need to improve on quality and flavor.

This place was a pleasant surprise. It used to be the old Cindy's and if you've ever been to it, you can see the old skeleton of the establishment. But man the renovation is incredible. Love the wood and neutral vibe and can we talk about cute the name is. Now, on to the food. Most of it was delicious. My daughter had French toast and she said it was amazing, I had the taco salad and chile verde Mac n cheese. Both were good but the real star was the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was so good. And the service was great. The server was attentive and on top of her job. If you are on there east side of town this place is worth checking out.
