The stairways which indicate that they're emergency exits, except they aren't? Not really sure.
Oh and great now I apparently have cancer because everything in this place contains plastic or vinyl. Including the lamination of the sign.
Hospital indicators on the 2nd floor. What purpose do these serve?

Truly two stars. Rooms are not HOLex standards. No lighting. Old. Loud hotel. Breakfast not ready. Credit card machine down. Friendly desk staff. Screaming until 9 in parking lot.

No reply to their promise of thieves video yet. Lack of action does support the issue. I should have read the reviews myself earlier so you could say I didn't do my due diligence . Readers beware.

I was so disappointed from check in through check out. I normally stay at Holiday Inn for business as well as family trips since I can trust the standard qualities and services brand offers. Pretty much any Holiday Inn you go to, it is pretty much all same except this one.It seems like it is one man operated hotel. I checked in around 6:30 PM and I only saw one employee and he was doing everything from registering, house keeping, customer service, answering calls, etc.. I had to wait very long time for check in and it is stressing after long drive. This hotel is taking advantage of COVID to max. I understand we still have to be cautious but hotel thinks they can do whatever and believes it can be forgiven due to COVID.- elevator is very dirty. - my room had ketchup packets under the bed, stains on bed cover and had to get replaced.- room had only 3 towels ONLY (2 large one and 1 small one) - ice machine not working (seems it was like this for months) and had to get ice from 2nd floor- Very noise until 2 am - no restriction - Very very simple breakfast - coffee, hot water and couple pastries ONLY because of COVID.. (2 weeks ago, I checked in at Holiday Inn in Phoenix, AZ- and they were totally different. They couldn't serve hot foods but still have wide range of cereals, mike, juices, cheese, boiled eggs, microwaveable breakfast burritos, pastries, yogurts and more... Is COVID in Tulare different from Phoenix? What makes Tulare Holiday Inn special that due to COVID, they can be excused and can be forgiven.Holiday Inn Corp should monitor this location seriously.

After 15 hours of traveling we all arrive at this hotel. We booked two rooms previously. When we arrived there was no one around to check us in. We stood in the lobby for a good 20 minutes and still no one showed up. We even headed over to the FairField inn to see if they had rooms we could book. We were tired and ready to rest. No rooms available at FF. So we came back to HIE. Finally someone is there. This is 30 minutes later at the least. Don't know where she was. Got checked in and had to change one room because the non smoking room, hotel is supposed to be 100% no smoking, smell like cigarettes. Not going to take the baby in that room. Very disappointed in Holiday Inn. They used to be a decent place to stay.

The first room:Filthy, A/C Broken, Bath Fan broken Asked for a different roomThe second room:Carpet DirtyTile dirty, especially groutOrange mold in showerOverall shotty maintenance, they have dropped basic preventative maintenance.Bent towel bar/shelf over toiletLight switch broken by bedBase of shower has some type of grime Hallway carpet dirty, smelled, doors and walls very dirty and marked up. The front entrance had driveway had many vehicles parked overnight, which is a fire safety violation. Stayed at many HIE recently, their breakfast is very limited at this location. The hall windows that looked over breakfast dining area were dirty. It seems that this HIE (and others) are using Covid as an excuse to cut back on services or quality to save money. Corporate (IHG) needs to enforce their "Brand Standards".

Not many options near Visalia/Tulare but I wasn't pleased. I got over 5 bug bites and there was mold everywhere. They tried to modernize this hotel by making everything white but that backfired as every spec of dirt and mold was easily spotted. The breakfast was alright but nothing like Embassy Suites. Staff was kind but cannot make up for a dirty hotel..

I can see why this hotel location gets the ratings it does. The exterior appearance is not very welcoming. Weeds grow on the edging of the driveway, area appears not safe, etc. on checking out, the clerk did not even ask how the stay was or even say a thank you. Last time staying at this location!
