I camp everywhere. This campsite is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen. I'm talking about a campsite layout .. this spot is a 1/2 mile long dirt road off the pavement .. a road that takes you into the forest, a forest that happens to have benches and pits. This is a nature lovers paradise, if you're not a whiner. No running water, sounds natural Lots of flying insect, sounds naturalNo electricity or lighting, sounds naturalMy point, it's called camping and getting away from the cityI encountered cows, Deer, wood peckers and other nature residents.I came prepared and enjoyed nature at its best. The restrooms are clean, the sites are shady and surrounded by fur trees, every 20 ft was a tree.. you can't even see my truck in the shade under the giant.Would recommend, I just don't want it full and booked when I need it..

Beautiful and quiet campground! We booked this for memorial day weekend as it was the last campground in California for the 3 day weekend. You will be driving in onto a dirt road that can get a little wobbly from the water runoff, but once inside, there are about 10 camp spots that are enclosed in beautiful tall trees. To the right is a beautiful meadow that catches the morning dew with the sunrise. Pack in your own drinking and washing water as this campground is primitive with no running water. Don't be concerned about the toilets, as the camp host is great about keeping it spotless. One quick note though is that the host does not sell firewood at this campsite, so be prepared to drive two sites down to pick some up. Its a 5 min drive to the Trail of 100 Giants, which is an easy stroll. 10/10 would come back again!

Overview:If you're looking to investigate the south side of Sequoia National Park then Holey Meadow is an excellent spot. We were looking for a campsite on short notice during the July 4th weekend, and Holey Meadow was one of the few campgrounds still available. My number one priority was to find a campground with shade and I'm so happy I found one. The only reason this review does not get 5 stars is that the park ranger never came and didn't remind our guests at a nearby site not too get rousy drunk and talk all night. Great for groups. Each campsite is pretty close together so you will hear each other's conversations, but not too much to any major inconvenience. Overall had an amazing time at Holey Meadow. Campground & FacilitiesThere are lots of trees to shade you from the 90 degree afternoon summer heat. This is first time where I was not freezing at night. The campsite is pretty small compared to others in the area. There are only 10 spots. Bathroom are clean for a campground and they have toilet paper which is seldom provided. The trees provide great cover from the scorching heat. Mosquitos are present but not in such large amount as what I've seen in Emigrant National Park. Make sure to bring bug spray though. Things to do:The Trail of 100 Giants is only 2 miles away, so this camping site makes this an ideal location for the trail. http://www.yelp.com/biz/trail-of-100-giants-springville?hrid=LJDRcRMnTtGlq2qZP4M71AThe campground also has a beautiful meadow to provide you with numerous awesome pictures. Each site comes with a fire ring and stove. Directions from Reserve America Site:From Highway 99, turn east on J22. Travel on J22 through California Hot Springs, then turn left at onto M50. After approximately 10 miles turn left at M107. The entrance to Holey Meadow Campground is on the left about a mile after the turn.On google maps street view there is no sign for the campground but in reality there is.

Beautiful campground, with great host! My family and I were able to make last minute reservations for our annual camping trip at Holey Meadow after our reservations were cancelled at another site due to flooding. The site is small, cozy and has nearby restrooms.

Its a really private and small campsite but the area is a nice size. Camp site #1, closest to the bathrooms was the site we were at. Bathrooms didn't have a bad smell that lingered through our camp, which was a good thing. The weather wasn't too hot, and had lots of shade. A campfire and a grill is included at each site but there is no running water. Suggest to bring jugs of water and a bucket of some sort to wash dishes and what not just in case. Also brought some heat/ cool bags to store food, we had one bag of ice the whole weekend to keep our cooler cold and it lasted us til Sunday. Antibacterial wipes would be very useful for hand sanitizing. Site doesn't have bear boxes so storing your food in your car would be best and far away from your tents. Trail of 100 Giants is just up the road maybe about a 10 minute drive and kern river is about 30 mins from the site, which isn't too bad neither. Only thing that was kind of irritant was the mosquitos, but that is a given when you're camping.

We were here last weekend for memorial dayPros: Very nice campground, lots of trees and shade, clean vault toilets - doesnt smell as bad as other camps I've been to. The camp host lives on site all season in her trailer so she cleans the area daily. Many nice trails within driving distance. Each campsite has a picnic table, a grill and a fire ring. You're allowed to pick woods from the forest for free or buy a bundle for $7 from the camp hostCons: no water at all so make sure to bring enough for drinking, cooking, handwashing, and/or showering. No light in the toilet. Campsites are too close to each other so u can hear your neighbors at night. We were lucky to have quiet neighbors next to us.Overall, I highly recommend this campsite. Its for real campers, not the high maintenance "i need my shower everyday" type. Didnt see any bears or wild animals either, just some annoying little insects. Theres no bear box, we just put food inside the car at night.
