Hey Mister DJ

We needed a DJ for our wedding reception and we did our homework and syphoned through hundreds of reviews in Yelp and other search engines and finally decided on Hey Mister DJ.So glad we did. Lee was super awesome. From the beginning to the end. He guided us through what was going to be an awesome night. And it was!! All because Lee knew the tempo and timing of what was and will happen at our reception. We just had to give him names and times and he took cared of the rest. The music was flowing with great beats continuously and he read the room to a tee.If you are looking for an awesome DJ, somebody easy to work with, someone with experience with a great music collection- call Lee.He will take care of you from start to end. We had so many compliments from our guests about Lee. Very much happy with our decision. Will definitely use Lee again for future functions. You rock Lee!!

Tech extraordinaire and Professional DJ-- Lee was able to hit the switches, simultaneously keeping my audience calm/happy, throughout even blunders. I'm blown away! He's definitely the (not-so-secret-anymore) glue that holds the recipe for my virtual mindfulness parties, together, online! What would I have done without him? Lost tons of customers, I tell you! What a genuinely nice person to work with on top of insane multitasking skills. Coming from a planner, don't think twice-- a must hire!

Can't we give MORE than 5 stars? Well...just so you know, we're actually rating him at like 100.Hey Mister DJ was quite possibly our BEST decision in this whole wedding process. Lee was so amazingly awesome to work with. We can't stop receiving compliments on all the music! We were determined to find an amazing DJ who 'got' what kind of music we wanted...and even more determined to find a DJ who didn't come with all that wedding 'cheese'. We found that in Lee of Hey Mister DJ. Lee understood exactly what we were looking for and took our taste in music and ran with it. He was also so helpful in suggesting tips for our wedding, suggestions and recommendations on other vendors, and never ONCE pressured us into saying 'yes' to his services. So incredibly communicative and professional...We wish we could throw a party every month just to have Lee DJ the party! You just CANNOT be disappointed by Hey Mister DJ...truly one in a million. Thanks for such an amazing wedding!

Lee is the man! He thinks of everything so that at the wedding you are fully prepared. Everything from pronunciations & emphasis of people's names to having a very clear timeline (that is easy to set up with him) makes for a stress free wedding and a night of fun! During the wedding, Lee would always check in with us and make sure that we are ready to move into the speeches or move into the dances or move into the cake cutting, etc. This allowed us to be in control instead of having a rogue DJ that had their own schedule. This was super professional and courteous. He played all the specialty songs that we wanted, and he asked us for a general ideas list of the other type of music that we wanted. Be sure to be very clear about what is a must play vs. the general ideas list. We made sure that the last 3 songs were must play, and he was sure to play them. Throughout the event, Lee went around and made sure that the speakers were the right level and that everything was working and not too quiet or too loud. During the ceremony, he mic'd the quartet and mic'd the officiant. Providing a mic for the quartet is a MUST! This was his idea, and it was so much better having them amplified. Both our venue loved him and the wedding planner loved him as well.He is a genius at reading the crowd and choosing the PERFECT next song. He kept everyone dancing and singing the entire night.

My husband and I used Hey Mister DJ for our December wedding at Carondelet House. Lee is a really nice guy and I think that he did a great job. He played everything we asked and was easy to communicate with. He also made some great recommendations about lighting. When we added an hour of bar time to our timeline he didn't charge any extra. Probably the only vendor that ever said that to me all year! The only negative was that we didn't want to do a first dance bc we didn't want to have a weddingy type wedding. We had explained the no first dance thing from the start. We sort of got talked into it after dinner and then awkwardly stood around waiting to do it while people stared at us and then danced to a song we don't remember. Probably mostly our fault for just not saying no but we felt a little pressured. I guess the venue wanted to clear the dining room and move people into the other room or something. We really didn't care where people went and had made arrangements with the venue to let people stay in the dining room. We had tried to set up a lounge type atmosphere with nooks and different patios anyway. I do feel like we had strongly communicated that the reception would be casual and that we didn't want to do a first dance so it was a little bit awkward that it came up the night of. Not a huge deal.

After interviewing a handful of highly recommended DJs, I'm so glad to have worked w/ a professional like Lee Dyson of HeymisterDJ who knows what he's doing. As anyone will tell you... music, lighting, ambiance -- these are critical elements --- and to a BRIDE on her wedding day, these are of utmost importance to ensure a beautiful day! Thanks to Lee, our wedding turned into a great big dance party (just as we requested) because we wanted to emphasize LOVE & FUN. When we wanted raw emotion for the first dances, somehow Lee was able to cue those too without any awkwardness. He's got great flow, timing, and presence - and all our guests volunteered compliments on how awesome the music was. Truly, thank you for making our day memorable.

I hired DJ for the grand opening of my studio. Very punctual and professional to work with. Everyone loved the music and had a great time! Hardly recommend! Thanks a lot, Lee:)

Lee was awesome and had so many great ideas to make sure the ceremony and reception went smoothly. He was professional and really knew how to keep the dance floor going. Everyone loved the music and the photo booth. He also gave us digital copies and a photo album with all of the photos everyone took throughout the night. I definitely recommend going with Lee if you're looking to have a fun party/event.

I used Lee from Hey Mister DJ for my wedding. He rocked the party! Even more important he coordinated with my photographer and videographer during the entire evening to make sure everyone was on the same page. He was a true professional. He did the ceremony music, music during the cocktail hour, and...He kept everyone dancing throughout the evening. I am a huge 89.9 KCRW fan, and my husband loves 80s New Wave music. Lee managed to keep us both happy, and make sure the guests were having a great time too! It was priceless watching my aunt and grandfather dance to "Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me!"

Thank you so much for such a wonderful and fun night. The music was fantastic, and I even got some of my "old fart" friends to dance with me.
