Love this place. Have been visiting at least once a month for the past year. Hidden gem is an understatement. Great wait staff and overall customer service. Food always comes out great and coffee is fresh and hot. You can park out front, in the back or to the side. They have counter seating or tables, a collection of road signs which I still have not read all of. The place mostly consist of locals and regulars, but don't be afraid to ask questions if you're new, they will answer them all. In comparison to other big chain restaurants the cost is equivalent or less but the quality is WAY better. Food amount is about the same. Some dishes here have larger portion sizes than others, but filling nonetheless on whatever you get. Like other places they are implementing a surcharge for eggs, but I'd rather have that temporary charge rather than a whole menu price change that would never go back to the previous amount.

Normally, I would give this spot 4 stars, as I have been here several times over the years, with no complaints. I went last Sunday with a friend for breakfast. The waitresses are good and cheerful. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon crispy, country potatoes, and wheat toast, plus an ice tea. I didn't notice anything wrong, except maybe the bacon was re-heated. The problem is, later in the day I started to feel ill. My back began to ache, along with a headache. I couldn't sleep that night because of the body aches. In the morning, I had diarrhea. My symptoms lasted about 24 hours. I stayed inside all day in my pj's, taking tylenol to relieve pain. It is no fun to be sick.I don't think any food was spoiled. I do think they are not practicing safe food handling, or not washing their hands enough, etc. My symptoms were indicative of having bacterial gastroenteritis. I send an email to the manager/owner explaining what happened. I got no response. It is a crap shoot when you go out to eat folks.

Updated review: Since we were nearby and hungry, we stopped in for coffee and breakfast. My fiancée was in the mood for a burger and I, the traditional breakfast. We were promptly greeted when we entered the restaurant, taking a seat at the bar. One of the things I really love about this place, besides, the remote location, is the rustic, off the beaten path look and feel. Besides, the server for forgetting a few side dishes and coffee refills, we enjoyed our experience here. The food was served hot and delicious- it was a little pricey, but you're paying for the atmosphere and ambiance as well (that's how i'm justifying). Thank you for your service and hospitality.

Great quality but too expensive for breakfast food. Everything is fresh and it tastes great, but it shouldn't cost $50 for two meals and two coffees unless I'm getting leftovers out of it haha. Service wise they are very nice here, friendly staff, we got seated quickly even with it being a packed Sunday morning. We were constantly being checked on and our server was very sweet. Inside I love the feel of this place. Definitely a classic vintage vibe to it. There is a lot of history to the place with photographs of movies and famous people who have filmed there before. Seems run down but that's just the charm to it. Lots of seating, it is kinda in the middle of nowhere haha, dirt parking lot. If you're wanting a classic diner with classic breakfast food go here!

A gem! We came in after a day of exploring Vasquez rocks! The service is good, given that there's only one server for the whole place. The ambiance and long history of the cafe alone is worth checking out!

Great little spot to stop and get a home cooked meal. It's a true little diner spot, very welcoming and homey feel to it. We've had everything from eggs Benedict, pancakes, French toast to sandwiches and burgers. We'll keep coming back to this little gem on our travels.

I wanted to try this place out because of it's notoriety as a movie location, so I made it a point of stopping there for breakfast on a recent trip through the area. As it turned out, the place was perfectly fine, but in fact it's really nothing special. I'ts just an everyday diner. I had the french toast which was fine, and I thought the service was fine as well.

The food was delicious I got Egg Florentine with sauce on the side and loved it lots of spinach with Cholula sauce on top was yummy. The coffee was fresh. My friend got French Toast Special well served and the French toast was awesome.. we both were very happy with our meals..Service was wonderful the lady took her time to explain the food and gave us tips and make sure we had everything we needed.. The ambiance was cozy with many pictures of actors that have eaten there and on the back of the menu have all movies that were filmed.. has lots of history open since 1931.. it's a small place you might wait a bit, but it's worth it.Recommended it... I will be back for sure.

I read about the Halfway house Cafe! Ok, twist my arm. I know that's where a Cindy Crawford Pepsi commercial was filmed back in the 90's.I like ole historical places - especially one's that sell food. The HHC really is halfway to somewhere. Just joking, but it is in a remote location in Santa Clarita. It is well worth the drive. The food -- I had a Buffalo Burger one day, and a regular cheeseburger another, was scrumptious.I thought it'd be greasy diner food -- not saying there's anything wrong with that. Well, it wasn't. Both burgers were cooked to perfection! And the service was exceptional. The waitresses, Ally one day and Janell the next, were top notch. They were friendly, and with just enough of a spicy attitude. I don't mean that in a bad way, they just spoke like humans, not robots. You''l love them! And I cant thank Janell enough. She went out of her way to make my little daughter a strawberry smoothie. I distracted my daughter and drank a lot of it.. Ehh, sue me! haha.. Another feature to miss with the HHC is the wall of celebrities who've frequented the establishment. Eddie Murphy, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Clint Eastwood, Carmen Elektra and many others. And don't worry, you'll never have to be saved by the bell, because you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars!! Check it out when you get a chance, you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah, check out the menus because they have all the shows and commercials that have been shot at this wonderful out of the way work of art.

Stumbles at a cute little cafe for breakfast. From the review, it maybe have been used in movies or some sort of television set. But needless to say, it was quite cute. Basically kind of in the middle of nowhere in a sense. Along sierra highway, as we were looking for a place to have breakfast before wine tasting. It's not a big spot but does have a good amount of seating. A long table top bar with seating to one side when you walk in and a couple of tables on the other side. Friendly staff which is always a good thing. It also seemed like a neighborhood type of place as the people seemed to be locals and knew each other. Menu, you have your traditional breakfast dishes as well as lunch item. Believe they only open till 3 or so. We had breakfast which was quite nice and potion was quite big. The orange juice was quite nice as well. Based on our visit, it was nice and service was good. It does seemed like a place that will get busy depending on the time and day.
