Golden Hills Motel

Horrible customer service! Online the website said they had rooms available with 2 beds & when we got there since we had to vehicles the rude owner or customer service worker was rude & said no rooms were available! We will definitely never go there & be telling everyone how horrible the service is & the motel looks dreadful. Something out of a horror movie

This place is ran down the man at window was rude would not give room with two beds when told there was two adults very poor manners and very bad condition glad ha said no because found great place in town for cheaper and way cleaner

This little motel is perfect for me when I come in to town. Fairly priced, clean, refrigerator and microwave in the room. Air conditioner works great, the heat and I don't get along! Beds are a little to firm for me.Staff is so nice and always make sure you have what you need.

It's a great hotel for the price. Nothing fancy, but it's clean, safe & quiet. I visited Tehachapi for almost 3 years & stayed here each time I went. Never had any issues. I love the owner & his family.

One of the worse motel experiences I've had throughout the country.Positives:1. Cheap for the area2. No bed bugsI wanted to start off with those core positives as my experience may have been an outlier. But when I first checked in the room smelled like urine, although it may have been from a leaked liquid from the previous guess. I knew it smelled bad, but didn't think much of it because I wanted to hurry up and get dinner before the local restaurants closed. But when I came back and was walking around with socks, I happened to feel the particular wet spot.I then went over to the front office to just tell them what I had experienced. I wasn't confrontational. The employee, however, was argumentative saying no refunds after x amount of minutes and why didn't I come tell him right away....He then told me that the rooms were full. (Which is reasonable) He didn't tell me anything of the sort of fixing our situation the following day.Well, the next morning they seemed to have their better employees working. They checked on our room and proceeded to move us into another room that was suitable.All that I'm saying is that this was one of my worse motel experiences out of living in motels for 5 months. Why didn't the motel's maid say anything with that awful smell?If you're in the area looking for the best deal without worrying about bed bugs, this is still an option. But for me, never again.

The rooms were filthy!! I have never been to a hotel room with such poor care taking. All the furniture was old and broken, it looked like it was picked up from someone's trash, the floors had stains as well as the sheets and blankets. We had no idea what we were getting into since we had booked the rooms online, then when we asked to get our money back to find another hotel they would only give half back. We still took what we could and took the hit just to not have to sleep there. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Old motel, but freshly painted, towels and sheets are clean, internet works fine, and there's a newish microwave and fridge -- AND the bed had an excellent mattress, which is a big deal for me. However, the heater/AC was weird: I tried to set it at 68, but it either blasted out too much hot air or totally unheated air. The bathroom faucet dripped, the water took forever to warm up (I didn't try to shower), and they had single-ply TP and the smallest cakes of soap I've ever seen. Most of the furniture is OK, but the room had a worn-out armchair way past its prime, with holes in the upholstery. Parking is fine; location is away from the center of town, but it takes only about 5 minutes to get there; but the road is rather busy even late at night, so there's traffic noise almost all the time. The price was better than most of the other local motels, but I doubt I'll stay there again.
