The UK based, EG Group purchased all the Mini Marts from Travel Centers of America, 2018. Which branding to go with? As of now, it's GOASIS.

EG Group - New ownership; same typical gas/minimart with typical, higher than usual prices. Safe travels!

Not sure if I'm posting this review to the correct Yelp page. There is more than one Goasis convenience store on this road. In fact, there is another Goasis shop right across from the one I'm writing about. Anyways, this Goasis sells Chevron gasoline. Yeah, gas prices are higher than normal. Hey, it's a Chevron and they have Techron in their gasoline. Convenience store is large and roomy. Easy to navigate the store and find what you are looking for. Bought some snacks at a higher than normal convenience store price, but at least it wasn't quite at "highway robbery" prices. It was an A-Okay experience overall. Store's appearance was clean and organized. Service was alright. They were unable to accept credit cards during our visit, but that wasn't their fault cause these technology malfunctions happen from time to time.

Am I the only one curious as to where did GOASIS come from?...Go + OASIS = GOASIS(Or another way of looking @ it; "GO AS IS") LOL - Either way, who are they?GOASIS - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/goasis-arvin?select=Gr6R6B1AkRrm2i_12VenUwOkay, I have to say I was a bit curious when I saw my first, GOASIS store front last year as I made one of my BART's. (Bay Area Road Trips) on the I-5 HWY. I usually make a customary stop @ the huge, Petrol Plaza just as you leave The Grapevine. I stop whether I need gas or not; call it tradition. The Dennis Mccarthy Drive in Lebec, Union 76/Mini Mart has consistently clean restrooms & a small area out back for the dogs to stretch their legs and take care of business. In addition, there's an In & Out Burger in the same lot.My go-to stop: https://www.yelp.com/biz/goasis-lebec*The restrooms were, "M'eh." Not very clean, unlike the ones @ Union 76 just across the overpass which are immaculate. However, on this most recent trip, I changed my routine & decided NOT to stop @ my usual place. I stayed on the NB side of the I-5 and ended up here... 'AND, another GOASIS.Shell Gas Station - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/goasis-arvin?select=iz9zf65Hrtv-IXhbl4jIhQThe last time I made a BART (Bay Area Road Trip), I don't remember seeing the brand as much as I did on this trip. The truth is that it could've been there on my last run & I was simply too tired to notice; truth. So, from what information I was able to gather:In 1967, a father & son named Ralph and Fred Higgins founded the first Minit Mart store in Lexington, Kentucky. Minit Mart became one of the first convenience stores to add gas pumps in the 1970s, which became a large innovation among convenience stores across the United States. The convenience store chain expanded into Tennessee in the 1980s, and then later into 7 other states.Since then, Minit Mart has grown to 225 stores. Many locations offer Godfather's Pizza, O'Deli's, and many other branded fast food chains. In 2015, Travel Centers of America purchased all Minit Mart locations. In late 2018, Travel Centers of America sold all Minit Mart locations to EG Group for $330.8 million.(Source: https://www.minitmart.com/about-us/)Other EG Group brands: View Our BrandsCumberland Farms, Certified Oil, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf N Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, TomThumb, Turkey HillEG Group first came onto the U.S. convenience store scene with the April 2018 acquisition of Kroger's convenience store portfolio for $2.15 billion. Included in that sale were 762 convenience stores, including 66 franchise operations, operating in 18 states and employing 11,000 associates. The EG America rebranding effort is starting with a décor package, according to a company spokeswoman, with a brighter and fresher look. The rebranding is also bringing in a new bean-to-cup coffee offer as well as a new fountain drink program to the stores.Through the purchase, the UK based, EG Group established a U.S. headquarters in Cincinnati.(Source: https://csnews.com/eg-america-begins-rebranding-minit-mart-stores)Well, it appears that the EG Group is changing more of it's store fronts to display the GOASIS branding, formerly Minit Mart. This is all relatively new as my usual pitstop, gas station/minimart also has the GOASIS signage @ the Dennis Mccarthy Dr, Union 76, in Lebec. (See link above) I believe the name change occurred in the beginning of last year.Other than the GOASIS signage, everything else appears to be business as usual. Same high gas prices, $2 cans of soda, frozen burritos, and employees who wish they were someplace else... 'Poor bastards. There is nothing strikingly different about these gas station/convenience stores that would signify any notable change with the new ownership.Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/goasis-arvin?select=CZa-vX1IdOBpZ07GnZxLGwHowever, I have to say that it's quite interesting that this UK based company has moved into "town," with such force by first purchasing Kroger's & now all of TCA's Mini Mart locations in just a couple of short years. Branding?... - I'm a little confused as to what branding the EG Group is going to go with: GOASIS or according to several sources, "EG America." Maybe they're still rolling it out?... (Shrugs) The GOASIS brand has a apparently been around for a while; it's new to me. However, I cannot find much information on GOASIS itself. I can't say that I'm a fan of either design. If they were going for lackluster & generic; NAILED IT!The proposed EG America band vs GOASIS - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/goasis-arvin?select=VLqH-ONZHj1CIfEnN3F8iQI'm curious to see if this England based company is going to up the stakes in the gas station/minimart game or will it simply be the status quo; same ol, same ol', except someone else is now collecting the $$.Be well, stay healthy, and safe travels.- Big Aloha!Food: 3Ambiance: 3Service: 3Value: 3

I hate to use this word but the only thing I can come up with is RACISTS. There were four people in 2 separate lines. I pick one and line up. The 2 guys in front of me is served them I get up to the front and the cashier says... "that guy was ahead of you". I give a look like wtf... then he says... (without me saying a word)... well there's only one line. When on the floor there are 2 separate lines with those "stay 6ft apart" stickers as well as the fact that he just served the 2 guys in front of me. I dropped my shit off to the side and walked out. You lost my business and I hope this makes you lose more.
