They treat locals well and they don't hike up gas prices (which they could do easily for the people going up and down the mountain and it being remote). It's a convenience store , so for those complaining about prices drive back to porterville to Save Mart. The new family that bought it are just as awesome as the previous owners, if not better. The staff is super helpful and everyone is always made welcome. Thanks Giffords for staying open for the community even when it's not convenient for you.

The store is always clean, the owners and employees are very friendly. Food prices are not bad considering where they are located. Fuel prices are awesome. I started shopping there over 20 years ago.

My wife and I stopped at Gifford's Market on our way to Balch Park. The first thing we noticed as we walked in was the overwhelming smell of a fryer without an exhaust for smoke which made us wonder about carbon monoxide poisoning for the frequent customers and employees. We were disappointed with the high prices at this market. We purchased about seven bananas, one gallon of water, a half a gallon of milk, two bottled Starbucks coffees, one bag of ice, one bag of Funnions, and one Pepsi can for a total of $32. Surprisingly, they don't overprice their gasoline.

A traditional stop for me on my way to Sequoia. Its a convenient little market along our way.Nothing fancy but they have gas, snacks and beverages, including adult beverages. The restroom is at the park next door.I had a flat on my motorcycle there once, theres not service/ tow truck or anything but I was able to stay at the station for an hour or so waiting for a tow.The people there arent overly friendly but hey... this place is sort of off the beat and path. All and all Im very happy this place is around making it possible to get gas in that remote area.

It's the last opportunity to pick up any provisions you may have forgotten before heading up to see large Sequoia tree. They sell gas, ice, firewood, jerky, alcohol, and condoms - everything you need to rough it in the forest.

A great store, have been shopping there for ages. The owners are very friendly, the gas competitively priced, which you normally don't see on the way to the mountains. The food selection is great, groceries plus a great deli Love this place

My boyfriend and I were staying at an AirBnB in town when we decided to make dinner rather than go out again. We stopped at Gifford's for our meal and were so glad we did! We got two delicious NY strip steaks for $20(9.99 a lb when you buy 2) and some corn on the cob which was also really fresh. Definitely the place to stop for food if you're in the area! And the review about the hispanic woman seems a little weird, she was super nice. Be nice to people & you'll get it in return! ;)

Don't go there anymore. Service and food at the deli is terrible. The hespanic woman that works in the deli spends mornings talking spanish to friends that don't purchase anything while customers are rudely ignored. When you combine lousy service, terrible food and high prices I had no choice but to take my business elsewhere. Especially after seeing this person scrubbing off the stinky smell of chicken gone bad then batter it up and throw it into the fryer. I still have that image and have yet to eat fryed chicken anywhere since.
